    Chapter Index

Biting his lower lip, he hesitated for so long, but finally threw the photo off the balcony.

The moment the photo disappeared into the night, Losweather’s heart jerked as well.

But she withdrew her gaze and looked at Leon, saying stubbornly, “Look, I’m throwing it away now.”

    “Eh you really threw it!”

Leon held onto the balcony railing and peered down.

Unfortunately, it’s nighttime and the light is so low that you can’t even see where the photo lands.

“Of course it’s really thrown, chit, boring. Go to sleep.”

She wore pink cartoon pajamas and took a gamey step under the messy comforter.

    And Leon didn’t go back.

He stood on the balcony in a daze, looking in the direction of the falling photographs, feeling the emptiness and silence at the end of this “lively” evening alone.

He’d forgotten why the picture of himself was smiling at four eyes with Los Vespers.

But the words on the back of the photo were fresh in his mind.

“May the silver lining always shine in the eyes of the loved ones ……”

151 A moment of arrogance is a moment of pleasure

    Regret.

Very much have twelve points of regret.

Dragons always do things that even they can’t control when their emotions get the best of them.

What kind of old ancestor engraved this in his dna? Hasn’t it changed in tens of thousands of years?

At breakfast, Lois Visser was slightly scribbling throughout.

Her hair was uncombed, her makeup was undone, and she had two light dark circles under her eyes.

After throwing that picture of her and Leon out in the heat of the moment last night, she hadn’t fallen back asleep in her bed.

And Leon seemed to be back in bed for a half hour or so of sleep just as it was getting light.

Before Anna came to the door to call them to breakfast, the couple lay in bed, back to back, knowing full well that the other was not asleep, but neither of them initiating anything.

They didn’t know if that counted as a fight.

    If it counts, why don’t we do what we did before? Attack each other with mean and sharp words, and then have a good “human and dragon fight”, and then forget about it;

But if it doesn’t count, how to explain the emotional turmoil that is hard to hide in the hearts of two people at this time.

At the breakfast table, Moune seemed to notice that something wasn’t quite right with mom and dad’s state.

She dutifully ate her own breakfast, not being as playful and cute as she usually was.

The little dragoness thought to herself that it would be good to ask her father what was going on later when he taught her magic.
