    Chapter Index

Why do you blow out candles when you make a wish? And…do wishes come true on birthdays?”

“It’s not always possible, it’s just for luck. But blowing out the candles is a must, otherwise the cake won’t move.”

Lois Visser looked at the two hundred and eighteen candles and couldn’t help but gulp, “Does it really have to be? Can’t I just not blow them out?”

“No, you’re the one who said you wanted to follow strictly human customs.”

Leon began to smile a graphic smile, “Blow, Your Majesty.”

Loseweather narrowed her eyes as she surveyed the fellow, the flicker of delight and emotion that had just risen in her heart swept away.

Dog man, I knew you wouldn’t honestly get me a birthday.

    Fine, blow it. Who’s afraid?

But …… if you want to toss me, you don t want to be good yourself.

Lois Visser tugged Leon over and the couple catapulted together in front of the cake’s candles, “Blow with me.”

“Why should I blow out the candles together on your birthday?” Leon giggled inside and tried to struggle.

“Shouldn’t it be an honor for you, a captive, to blow out candles with the Queen?”

    “……”

    “Hurry up.”

Loseweather tugged at his sleeve, rather like she wouldn’t let go until he blew.

Got to, digging a hole and jumping into it myself.

The couple looked at each other, then simultaneously took a deep, full breath and proceeded to blow on the two hundred and eighteen candles in front of them.

    “Hoo-hoo-hoo-cough, cough, cough!”

One by one, the candles went out, and not all of them were extinguished until both of the unjustly seeded couple had blown their brains out.

The two of them leaned on each other’s shoulders to breathe in the fresh air.

After relieving herself a little, Losweather glared at him, “You humans are so boring! What’s with this custom!”

“Come on, normally it’s only a dozen or two dozen candles, who’s like you Dragons, you’re hundreds of years old at a moment’s notice.”

Loseweather chortled and straightened up, “And then what? Wish on a cake?”

    “Uh-huh.”

    “Promise anything?”

Leon nodded, “Right. But it’s just a figure of good luck, there’s nothing scientific about it, so don’t blame me if it doesn’t materialize for you.”

“Oh …… so I can make my wish?”

    “Whatever.”

Loseweather turned her head to the cake, then closed her eyes and folded her arms and

    “I wish–“

Leon also listened sideways to see what the she-dragon could wish for.

    “My captives will never escape.”

Leon rolled his eyes, his native tongue going speechless.

“Mother Dragon, that’s not how wishes work!”

“What do you care, it’s my birthday, I can wish for whatever I want.”
