    Chapter Index

“Headmaster Ouellette’s words reminded me of the days when I was young and catching up on a collection of essays by an author in a Dragon Evening Newspaper that was updated weekly, and each time I read it, the coming week felt like years, as if there was an “addiction” running rampant through my body that could only be alleviated by waiting for the next week’s update. The only relief came with next week’s update.”

“I’m sure the principal was probably addicted to reading Noa’s article as well.”

The vice-principal withdrew his gaze and turned his head to the class teacher on the side, “By the way, teacher, the rankings of your class’s essays have just come out, right?”

    The homeroom teacher nodded, “Yes.”

Upon hearing this, Lal’s father, who was sitting below, had his heart tightened and hurriedly got up and said, “Vice Principal, you’re not thinking of canceling my family’s Lal’s first place grade, are you? Let me tell you, this can’t be done, this is my son’s solid grade, it absolutely can’t be canceled.”

Lal’s dad’s statement seems to make sense and even puts himself on the weaker side to gain sympathy from others.

But if you think about it, are his so-called “real accomplishments” real?

It is not that Noa’s essay was not intentionally involved in the selection process or that it was turned in late; it was sent to Principal Ouellette, the full principal, who is much more rigorous and demanding in terms of the content and standard of the essay, to be reviewed.

And it is in this context that Noa’s article remains highly acclaimed.

The gold content speaks for itself.

So if Noah had participated in the regular class competition, he would have taken first place, and Lal’s father’s so-called “real achievement” would have been second place.

It’s like a schoolteacher and a schoolteacher who both got a hundred percent on their final exams.

    The schoolmaster smugly thought he had stepped into the realm of the school god;

But he does not know that he can get a hundred percent because his limit is a hundred percent, and the Scholar gets a hundred percent because the paper is only a hundred percent.

So how do you break this?

The answer is to be just like Noa, undergo a more rigorous test and still emerge from it.

Leon and Lois Visser and quite a few of the parents in the room understood this, except for Lal’s dad who held on to that hard-earned first place.

Even Lal’s face was a bit unsettled, he pulled his dad’s sleeve and whispered, “Dad, Noa’s grades are usually better than mine all the time, and if she participates in the selection normally, there’s a high probability that she’ll still be number one ……”

The little brat elbows out again!

Am I your father or is Noa your father?

Seeing Lal’s dad like this, the vice-principal said, faintly.

“Please don’t worry, Lal’s first place is also well deserved, I will not cancel, let alone downgrade his ranking, it’s an honor he deserves and no one will take it away from him.”

Indeed there was absolutely no need to do so, Leon felt for two reasons.

For one, if it did change Lal’s ranking from first to second, while no one cared how Lal’s dad would play jumping up and down in a hurry, such a change would indeed be a blow to Lal, the little hatchling dragon.

Ever since the last time he tried to school bully Noa but got an arm broken, the little brat should have been much more honest, studying and listening to his classes, or else he wouldn’t have gotten a first place grade.

As for the second reason ……

From the tone of the vice principal’s voice and between the lines just now, it wasn’t hard to hear that with the level of Noa’s essays, there was no longer much point in participating in the selection in the class.

Sure enough, anyone who is too strong ends up not being counted in the totals.
