    Chapter Index

She can’t get on well, that’s why she came on her own.”

    “Oh.”

“What are you oh what? I’m telling the truth.”

Leon shrugged, “Well, really, I didn’t say it was fake, so why are you nervous?”

    “I’m not nervous.”

“Well, you weren’t nervous, I was nervous, okay? Ah holy shit – it hurts, it hurts, it hurts!”

Losweather gave him a blank look, “Be honest.”

    “Ch.”

She continued to administer the medicine.

Half-heartedly, he spoke again, “Today, thank you.”

    “Thank me for what?”

“When Lal’s dad was being all aggressive in the office, you took it upon yourself to stand up for Noa and me.”

Losweather finished the medicine and tossed the swab into the trash, “I thought you’d be happy to see me suffer.”

Leon shrugged it off, his palm still warm from the aftermath of Losweather’s leg, “I…of course I’d love to see you disliked to the point of dumbfoundedness by someone else, I can’t be happier that you’re getting a bad taste in your mouth.”

Losweather cocked her head and asked with a grin, “So you’re still fighting for justice?”

“Eh, how can that be called a righteous strike? Although the two of us are old and dead, but in front of outsiders you are at least my old–“

Loseweather raised an eyebrow and pursued the question with interest, “It’s you what?”

Leon averted his eyes, dropped his voice tone a few notches, and muttered vaguely, “It s my wife …… That wife is going to get her nose pointed at her, so can I sit back and do nothing? Wouldn’t that make me a wimp? And, and I’m not all about defending you, I’m mostly doing it for Noa, well, for Noa.”

Fine, fine, fine, fine. You guys come in and just get tough with your mouths, fine, fine.

Lois Visser grunted softly, raising a hand to straighten the hair around her ears.

Leon had also just realized that she had kept the thin braid he had braided around her temples earlier while she was unconscious.

Seeing this, Leon was secretly pleased.

See, dude’s aesthetics are definitely way ahead of the game!

“My sister wrote just now.” Lois Visser said.

“She’s going to drop by again?”

Losweather shook her head, “She invited us to take our two daughters to her place as guests. Are you going?”

“I’m not going.” Leon shook his head.

“Fine, if you don’t go, then let’s clear the air about what happened before.”

“I’ll go.” Someone wimped out in seconds.

“Very well, then we’ll leave the day after tomorrow when Noa is on vacation.”

    xx
