    Chapter Index

Straight away, he took out a cookie, broke half of it and handed it to Leon, tasting the other half himself.

“It’s not very tasty.” Lois Visser said.

Leon ate it in two bites and praised it heartily as well, “Yeah, it’s delicious.”

Noa’s nervous little expression relaxed then, “I took second place in my cooking class.”

Losweather reached over and rubbed Noah’s little head, “Cooking was a piece of cake, next time we’ll take first place.”

    “Uh-huh.”

Noa nodded and turned her gaze back to Leon, who pursed her lips as if to speak.

After thinking about it, she finally mustered up the courage to say, “You just …… were very handsome.”

In that moment, it was as if Leon had realized what it meant to be a father.

A simple compliment from your daughter is worth a thousand words when you’re doing it simply because you love her and don’t expect anything in return at all.

Especially for a character like Noa, who usually didn’t like to express her preferences so bluntly, to be able to praise Leon so directly.

This was simply more joyous for Leon than receiving any gift.

He didn’t think it involved any pua or personality control or anything messy like that.

It’s just the normal psychological reaction of a father who gets a compliment from his daughter.

If Leon had a tail, he would have started wagging it violently by now!

Compared to “my daughter has finally grown up and can boast”, Leon is more likely to think “my daughter and I are finally showing clear signs of breaking the ice”.

    He didn’t care if Noa became more mature, he had never been so hard on her;

He just wanted to get inside Noah’s head and make their relationship truly “father-daughter” worthy.

Seeing that Leon was dumbfounded by his daughter’s short compliment of “very handsome”, Roseweather hurriedly disliked his arm.

Leon then came back to his senses, scratched his hair, and laughed, “Ahaha, that, that’s for sure, your dad I’m pretty good! And I didn’t lie to you, right? Knees really are the weakness of the Red Inferno Dragon Clan, next time that Ral bullies you, you kick him hard in the knees.”

Noa let out a giggle, but quickly followed her mom’s lead and tucked her smile back in, as if she had to be charged extra to see her mother laugh once.

“Okay, I get it, so – wait, is your hand …… hurt?”

Leon had just raised his hand to scratch his hair, unintentionally exposing the bony knuckles on the back of his hand.

It was a wound from when he had just slammed his fist into the ground.

At that, Leon hurriedly put down his hand and put it behind his back, “It’s okay, fighting is normal, bumps and bruises.”

    “But all–“

“The next class will start soon, right? Go back to class and come home the day after tomorrow and mom and dad will make you a nice meal.” Leon said.

Noa’s pupils trembled slightly as she pursed her lips, “Uh…okay. See you later.”

“See you the day after tomorrow.”

Noa waved and trotted back to the academy.

Loseweather handed Leon the cookie box, and herself then transformed into her gargoyle form, “Let’s go back as well.”

    “Uh-huh.”
