    Chapter Index

Leon scratched the corner of his forehead, “What’s wrong?”

Noa withdrew her gaze, “Not much.”

Why was he just …… staring at Murn’s tail? And then looked at his mom’s waist in slight surprise?

Noa’s mind moved slightly, Woody thinking.

    ……

The two sisters had been here all morning with Loseweather.

By lunchtime, led away by the maid.

But Noa stopped not more than a few steps down the hallway, and she turned back to Leon without a word.

Leon leaned on the doorway, “Why are you looking at me again?”

Noa narrowed her eyes slightly and asked in a low voice, “Mom is in a coma now, are you …… planning something?”

That sounds a bit puzzling at first.

But Leon didn’t dare treat it perfunctorily.

His oldest daughter was too resourceful to ask such questions for no reason.

    Perhaps, a realization?

“No, I don’t have any plans, Noah, I just want to take care of mom.” Leon returned calmly.

There was no panic or pretense of sincere reassurance.

It’s just as easy and natural as an everyday conversation.

Noa locked eyes with him for a little while, then finally said faintly, “Yeah, well, that’s good.”

Then he followed Moune and the maid out of the place.

Didn’t look back once more the whole time.

Looking at Noa’s back, Leon sighed, and

“Too smart indeed, my sweet girl. Well, like me.”

There’s some self-promotion in there, but Leon and Noa are really alike when it comes to brains.

Father and daughter are also more perceptive than one another.

Relieved, Leon closed the door and went back into the bedroom.

He moved a chair to the edge of the bed, thought for a moment, and then lifted the covers and rolled Loseweather over.

The hem of the nightgown was empty, and the usual flexible and “versatile” tail had disappeared.

“Sure enough, the tail is gone.”

Muttering, he rolled Los Viceroy back again and then re-covered him.

“But if the tail is still there, it’s going to be an uncomfortable position to lie flat, isn’t it?”

Leon tried to brainstorm how he would probably only be able to sleep on his side if he had a long bulge in his tailbone.

He didn’t dwell too much on the matter of Losweather’s tail, but instead turned his attention to the nutrients on the nightstand.

When Anna came over in the morning, Leon asked her if she wanted to prepare some nourishment for Loseweather
