    Chapter Index

    , it’s a lot of talk, it’s a lot of tears.

So, to the uncomprehending stares of the two little ones, Daddy went into Mommy’s room.

That back, determined, firm, even a little generous to death.

Moune blinked her big pretty eyes, “What on earth are Mommy and Daddy going to do.”

Noa took Murn’s hand, “I can’t figure it out, just let them be, childish adults.”

    ……

Leon walked into Lois Visser’s room.

The house was unlit in the late afternoon, and blood-red sunlight filled the living room through the curtains.

Losweather poked her head out of the kitchen doorway, where the faucet was on as if she was washing something, “Oh so soon, sit down first. I’ll wash two cups and be right over.”

Leon didn’t respond, silently walking to the living room and sitting on the couch.

The coffee table in front of them still held the answer sheets they had used for the silent test some time ago.

    Loseweather didn’t put them away.

It’s not like I forgot to put it away, but …… I take it out every now and then.

Leon was just about to reach over and take an answer sheet to review when he heard footsteps coming from the kitchen side.

He rushed back and squared his shoulders.

Lois Visser walked slowly over with her long bare legs and dragon winged slippers, a bottle of wine in one hand and two highball glasses cupped in the other.

She sat down next to Leon and poured some wine into two glasses before handing one of them to Leon, “Drink?”

    Leon shook his head.

“What? I remember you promised me that you would fulfill my demands after losing to me, and now you’re not even willing to have a drink?”

Leon pursed his lips and hesitated, but took the glass.

Lossweather smiled in satisfaction, “That’s right, willingness to lose is a good quality.”

She cupped the wine glass in her hand, took a light sip, and added, “Actually, I was kind of hoping you’d win.”

Leon froze and looked up at her, “Why?”

“If you win, I’ll have to give you a month’s vacation, and during that month, you’ll be able to get well. It’ll be more fun when you’re well~”

She sighed in mock disappointment, “Ai, it’s just a pity that the strongest dragonslayer of the past still lost to my hands-“

As she said this, Loseweather made the “scissor hand” gesture, “or twice.”

Leon tried to defend himself, “The first time was when I was attacked by someone else, and that time yesterday was… it was me being in bad shape.”

“It’s okay, come back a few more times, my favorite thing is when you lose a battle and then don’t give in.”

Leon wasn’t going to continue this conversation with Loseweather, he placed his glass on the coffee table, “Alright, do what you have to do quickly.”

“Yo, so eager to be tortured by me?”

Loseweather smiled faintly and glanced at the glass of wine on the coffee table, “Aren’t you going to drink?”
