    Chapter Index

Fascinated by the expensive collection, and completely unaware of it, Loseweather quietly closed the iron door of the treasury behind her.

    And locked.

After wandering around for a while, Leon collected his dirtbag-in-town-type excitement and asked that the

“What the hell did you bring me here to-“

“Oh found it, here it is.”

Without waiting for Leon to ask his query, Los Visser stood on tiptoe and removed a case from the top of the display.

Leon stepped forward and took a hand.

The duo set the chest on the floor, and Losweather gently blew the accumulated dust from it.

    “What’s in this?”

“Just told you yah, something to take your mind off your troubles for a while.”

With that said, Loseweather rushed the opening of the chest towards Leon and proceeded to open it.

Leon held his curiosity as he looked inside the box.

And when he saw what it contained, his entire body was too surprised to speak.

His eyes were wide, his mouth slightly open, and his black pupils reflected the “companion” that had been absent for two years–

    Black and Gold Chariot.

It was armor built by the Empire’s best craftsmen, and had accompanied Leon in his battles south and north, shielding him from fatal injuries countless times.

Leon slowly reached out and brushed his fingertips across the surface of the armor.

Familiar to the touch, with not a single sign of age, it was clear that Losvesser had taken great care of the armor over the past two years.

“Try it on?” Lois Visser offered.

    “Huh?”

“Ah what ah? Try it on.”

    “Oh ……”

Leon pulled the various parts of the black and gold chariot out of the case and then skillfully put them on one by one.

Once dressed, Loseweather folded her arms, narrowed her eyes, smiled, and said longingly that the

“It’s very handsome then, just as handsome as when he held up his sword to cut off my head.”

“…… You dragons have a truly inscrutable understanding of positive and negative words.”

Leon surveyed the black and gold chariot he was wearing with great gusto.

The old dude does still look as awesome as he did back in the day!

    Just–

Leon suddenly noticed that there seemed to be a small chip in part of the breastplate.

“How did this happen? The Black Gold Chariot has a self-repairing function, it should have completely recovered in two years’ time.”

Loseweather shook her head, “I’m not sure, maybe it was an accidental bump.”

    “Is that so ……”

Leon wiped the gaping hole, luckily it wasn’t too big an area to be seen without looking closely.

He smiled nervously, like a small child who had just gotten a new toy, “Thank you, Losweather, I didn’t realize you were quite human.”
