    Chapter Index

I said I’m not tired, just keep walking.”

“Hmph, the only thing hard about your body is your mouth.”

Leon stepped forward, rubbing shoulders with Loseweather, and said, slyly, as he eyed the front of the room.

“Queen-sama, besides my mouth, I’ve got hard bones too. Want to see me beg for mercy with you? Impossible.”

He took a step and continued on.

    Loseweather grunted and followed.

Anyway, if she, an energetic dragon king, competed with an extremely weak human in terms of endurance, no matter what, the victory or defeat would not be in doubt.

She wanted to see just how mouthy the great dragon slayer could be.

The two of them walked for about ten more minutes when they suddenly heard a commotion coming from a short distance away.

Looking for the sound, I saw another spot of firelight, like someone was camping.

And that fire, naturally, was a bonfire they had lit to disperse some wild beasts in the mountains and forests.

Leon’s dark pupils reflected the fire.

It was as if there was some kind of hope.

He opened his mouth, wanting to cry out for help, as this might be his only chance to get his situation across.

But the words came out of his mouth and Leon swallowed hard.

He glanced sidelong at Los Vespers beside him.

If he called out to the group for help now, Losweather would kill them without hesitation.

That would be like Leon victimizing them.

Upon realizing this, though his heart was full of pity, Leon turned around and left the place.

Before he could take a few steps, however, he heard an enthusiastic voice from over the campfire.

    “Hey! Are you guys lost?”

The words were followed by a rustling sound, like the group was walking through the grass.

Immediately on guard, Lossweather instantly gathered magical energy in her hands.

Seeing this, Leon rushed forward and pressed down on Losweather’s wrist.

The hot magical energy burned Leon’s hand, but he didn’t care.

Leon stepped in front of Losvesser and blocked her tail.

The couple of campers came over and put some distance between them.

“Are you two lost?” A young man asked.

“Ah no, no, we’re just …… er …… hanging out.”

“These mountains are not a good place to hang out, sir, dangerous species and beasts are particularly abundant, so why don’t you spend the night at our camp, and we’ll escort the two of you down the mountain tomorrow.”
