Chapter 5: The Inside Story (2/2)
by Jessie@AFNCCWho would dare resist?
Afterward, not only did Li Shiqing and the Li family avoid becoming laughingstocks, they became envied by countless elite families who thought the Li family might form marriage ties with the Lin and Yang families!
That’s exactly what happened. After the incident, the old master Lin, probably feeling guilty – being a military man all his life with strong principles – immediately brought Lin Tian to apologize and seek forgiveness. Over these five years, he had shown much favor to the Li family.
Otherwise, the Li family wouldn’t have advanced so far today!
Lin Tian couldn’t read minds, so he didn’t know Li Shiqing’s thoughts. After learning the girl’s identity, he just felt more troubled.
These romantic entanglements were truly hard to handle!
Seeing Lin Tian’s silence, Li Shiqing declared with a wave of her small hand, like commanding the wind and clouds: “Don’t worry, I won’t force you to make any choices. I’ll make you understand how to choose between me and your fiancée!”
After saying this, Li Shiqing returned to her cheerful self, winked at Lin Tian and said: “Xiao Zi is throwing me a welcome party tonight at Maple Forest Club. Don’t be late.”
Without waiting for Lin Tian’s response, Li Shiqing turned and left, her ponytail swinging with youthful energy.
“I ran away for five years. This time I’m back, I won’t run anymore!”
After turning around, Li Shiqing’s face showed complete determination!
Lin Tian watched Li Shiqing appear in confusion, and watched her leave in equal confusion.
He still hadn’t figured out how to handle his relationship with Li Shiqing.
According to Lin Yue, since his original self had been with her, he should take responsibility, but now he had a fiancée – was he supposed to juggle both?
Having no clue what to do, he decided not to think about it. The urgent matter was improving his strength – everything else in the mortal world was unimportant!
The Capital Noble Academy’s environment was no worse than a 5A scenic spot, with mountains and waters. Now in early September, entering autumn, the maple leaves covered Qiuxia Mountain, creating breathtaking scenery.
Walking among them, Lin Tian was quite surprised to sense spiritual energy no less dense than Yuhua Mountain’s peak.
He climbed the steps, quickly reaching the top of Qiuxia Mountain, which though not tall, had excellent views. To his surprise, there was even a small pavilion at the summit.
The pavilion was built entirely of wood, giving off an otherworldly feeling.
At that moment, in the clearing outside the pavilion, a girl wearing white training clothes with a red belt was sparring with a young man in similar attire.
Besides these two, there was also a white-haired elder watching from the side.
Lin Tian stopped. The girl had a slim but not bony figure, with classical Southern Chinese features, a delicate face slightly sweaty from fighting.
The young man had short hair and handsome features, his phoenix eyes occasionally flashing with brilliance.
When he saw these three people, only the elder noticed him while the two fighting didn’t, and nodded in greeting.
Lin Tian was startled but nodded back in response.
Seeing this, the elder showed surprise but remained focused on watching the fight.
Lin Tian also watched for a while. The girl was practicing Tai Chi, while the young man’s style resembled Bajiquan.
In his previous life, before his master Liuli Immortal took him from Earth, he had learned about Earth’s martial arts, so he recognized these styles at a glance.
Moreover, these two martial arts were treasures of Chinese culture – anyone with basic martial arts knowledge could identify them.
Tai Chi brings peace to the world, Bajiquan determines the universe!
After watching for a while, Lin Tian shook his head and turned to leave the mountain.
Since people were at the peak, he’d have to find somewhere else to practice.
However, a voice came from behind: “Young friend, please wait!”
Lin Tian turned back to see the elder beckoning to him, smiling: “From your expression while watching, you seem to understand Chinese martial arts?”
Lin Tian hesitated slightly, then walked over and shook his head: “Not really, I just came up to see the scenery.”
Before the elder could speak, the sweaty girl glared at him dissatisfied: “If you don’t understand martial arts, why were you shaking your head? Pretending to know?”
“Manqing!” the elder scolded.
The girl pouted, clearly unhappy with Lin Tian’s head-shaking.
The young man also spoke: “Elder Chen, I think Manqing is right! He doesn’t understand martial arts but watches and shakes his head – people might think we’re not worth watching!”
The elder frowned, slightly displeased: “Shen Long, your master sent you here to cultivate temperament through Tai Chi, but your temper hasn’t improved at all!”
The young man’s expression changed but he stayed silent, though his eyes showed hostility toward Lin Tian.
Lin Tian hadn’t expected to offend these two young people and smiled apologetically: “If I’ve offended you both, please forgive me. I’m sorry.”
“Hmph!” Chen Manqing snorted coldly, clearly not accepting Lin Tian’s perfunctory attitude.
Having practiced Tai Chi with her grandfather since childhood, while not exactly a master, she had gained some fame. Everyone who knew her praised her as a once-in-a-century female prodigy.
But Lin Tian’s head-shaking made her feel dismissed.
Shen Long also said disdainfully: “People nowadays like to pretend they know everything when they know nothing. Manqing, don’t bother with his kind, not worth it!”
The elder was about to scold him, but hearing Shen Long’s words, Lin Tian frowned first: “I apologized because my previous behavior was inappropriate, but isn’t your aggressive attitude also a bit much?”
“You? You’re worth us being aggressive? Who do you think you are? A martial arts grandmaster? Or some new young master? Hah!” Shen Long sneered, showing undisguised contempt.
