Chapter 4: Love Affairs (1/2)
by Jessie@AFNCCLin Yue snuck in quietly at some point, carefully closed the door, sat on the bed and sighed: “Sister Feifei, I’m not just saying this, but while my brother may be a player, he truly cares about you. Last time he tried to force himself on you was only because he found out you were still in contact with that man. He’s always been proud – how could he accept something like that? Today he even told me he would change his ways. Think about it – if he was still his old self, do you think he would have ignored your advances today?”
Actually, Lin Yue was also surprised. While others only saw her brother as a playboy, she knew that when it came to family, Lin Tian always sided with his relatives no matter what.
She clearly remembered one time when she was bullied at school. Lin Tian rushed over without hesitation to help her get revenge. At that time, they didn’t know his identity. Lin Tian got beaten black and blue but still tried to cheer her up.
How could Lin Yue not defend a brother like that?
Qin Ruofei silently cried, finding it all ridiculous inside.
Nothing bad to say about how he treats me?
If he really cared about me, how could he forcefully possess me?
Knowing I already had someone I liked, how could he forcefully break us apart?
Of course you’d speak up for him – you’re his sister!
After trying to persuade her a few more times and seeing Qin Ruofei like this, Lin Yue knew she wouldn’t listen. She gave up, shook her head and returned to her own room.
Lin Tian knew nothing about all this. He had been cultivating on the mountaintop until the next morning, his clothes all wet with dew.
Lin Tian stretched and exhaled, the spiritual energy vibrating and evaporating all the dew from his body before he stood up.
After cultivating all night, he finally had a bit of spiritual energy in his body.
But this body was really too weak – the whole night was spent just opening up meridians.
The path of cultivation was divided into: Qi Condensation, Foundation Building, Aperture Opening, Golden Core, Nascent Soul, Spirit Severing, Unity, Great Achievement, and Tribulation Crossing.
Right now, he had just started Qi Condensation – pathetically weak.
Back at the villa, Qin Ruofei and Lin Yue were having breakfast. Yang Wanrong wasn’t there, probably at the company.
“Brother, you spent the whole night outside? Hurry up and freshen up for breakfast!” Lin Yue ran over and clung to his arm coquettishly.
Lin Tian glanced at Qin Ruofei, who happened to look over but quickly averted her gaze.
After breakfast, the bodyguard drove them to school. Lin Tian rested with his eyes closed the whole way, while Qin Ruofei sitting next to him frowned slightly.
Actually, what Lin Yue told her last night hadn’t completely fallen on deaf ears – she just didn’t quite believe it.
A player reforming?
Even if it happened, it wouldn’t happen to Lin Tian!
Though he used to always find topics to chat with her about, why hasn’t he said a word today?
After getting out of the car and walking through the school gates, Lin Tian couldn’t help but laugh wryly.
To think that he, one of the top experts in the cultivation world, had to go to school after reincarnating – he didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.
The Capital Noble Academy was a private school, but its teaching resources ranked in China’s top 10. Moreover, money alone couldn’t get you in – without some background influence, you’d be rejected at the door.
Just as he was about to step through the school gates, a girl came rushing out in a panic while looking back, crashing right into Lin Tian’s arms.
“Ah!”
Lin Tian didn’t budge, but the girl fell flat on her bottom with a cry of pain. When she saw who was in front of her, her face instantly went pale. She hurriedly got up despite the pain and apologized: “I’m so sorry! Young Master Lin, I didn’t mean to!”
That look in her eyes was like she was staring at a demon.
Lin Tian found it strange. He steadied her as she kept bowing and apologizing, asking: “What’s wrong? Being chased by ghosts?”
The girl became even more terrified, her whole body trembling. She didn’t dare leave but couldn’t get any words out either.
This reaction both exasperated and amused Lin Tian – was his original self really that terrifying?
Before the girl could speak, a blue convertible sports car came racing out from inside the school, nearly hitting Lin Tian before drifting to a stop right in front of him.
The young man in the car took off his sunglasses. When he saw Lin Tian, his face changed in disbelief as he exclaimed: “Lin Tian?! What are you doing here?!”
The young man had a trendy Korean-style haircut and was quite handsome, though his shocked expression at seeing Lin Tian made him look somewhat comical.
