by Jessie@AFNCCOld Bernard rushed to Tidestar that night to take his grandson back to the old mansion.
He opened the underground training ground that had been unused for a long time and asked the two military doctors loyal to the Bernard family to perform a precision test on his grandson with the instruments inside. He still couldn’t believe it was real until he got the exact data.
Zhou Yunsheng lay on the testing table and allowed the military doctor to stick the sensor to his temple.
“Cecil, feed your mental power into this machine through your sensors and attack its core with all your might.” Old Bernard commanded.
“Are you sure, Grandfather? I heard that this airframe is very expensive, worth at least tens of millions of star coins.” Zhou Yunsheng raised his eyebrows.
“Use all your strength if you’re told to, could you still blow this machine to pieces? It can withstand more than you can imagine. Begin.” Old Bernard urged.
Zhou Yunsheng hooked his lips and infused the enormous spiritual power he had accumulated over countless reincarnations into the core of the tester. Knowing that he could rely on his spiritual power to create a vast and infinite sea of stars, destroying a machine was but a piece of cake.
So it was very unfortunate that just a second into the test, the machine let out a loud boom from within and turned into a puddle of bits of broken metal rolling to the ground. The two corpsmen and old Bernard were too shocked to speak for a long time.
“Has the test arrived?” After a few minutes, Old Bernard spoke with forced palpitations.
“I’m sorry Marshal, Young Master Cecil unleashed his spiritual power too quickly, we weren’t able to get any useful data.” The two military doctors shook their heads, their shocked expressions still hanging on their faces. Unleashing spiritual power required a slow process, like climbing a mountain, one had to push to catalyze the rise little by little by willpower, but Cecil’s spiritual power did not need this process at all, erupting like a volcano.
This kind of spiritual power is completely different from other people’s spiritual power. The spiritual power of others can be used for healing, detecting, connecting to personal terminals, and manipulating mechs …… In short, it can only play a supporting role. But Cecil’s spiritual energy could perhaps be used to directly kill people.
This is horrible. The two military doctors blanched.
Old Bernard also thought of this, his face changed a few times as he warned, “No one is allowed to say anything about this matter.” Being able to kill people invisibly with spiritual power, once such a strong person appeared, he would definitely attract the scorn of many people. They would definitely strangle Cecil before he could grow up.
Luckily, the two were very loyal to the Bernard family and quickly nodded their heads in agreement.
No one understood what exactly was going on with his soul power better than Zhou Yunsheng. In the previous world, he would run his soul power every single day to try and break the shackles of his divine body, and over time had refined it to be extremely pure and powerful. Suddenly telling him to lay hands on a machine was like asking him to slice vegetables on a balloon, it was hard to grasp the strength, and if he was careful, he would explode.
He coughed and waved his hand, “Get another machine, I’ll be gentle.”
The corners of the two army doctors’ mouths twitched slightly, and they quickly pushed a new machine over.
This time old Bernard didn’t dare to give a wild order, but instead admonished to take his time.
Zhou Yunsheng nodded his head and input a trace of soul power into the sensor. The arrow that stayed at scale 0 surged upwards, directly rushing past the A line to reach A+, Zhou Yunsheng continued to input soul power, the arrow continued to climb, and stopped steadily at the bottom of 3S, as if someone had pressed it with their hand, without any up and down fluctuations.
Old Bernard took a look at his grandson’s easily written face, and then looked at the motionless arrow, and instantly realized that his grandson hadn’t used all his strength. However, the 3S level of spiritual power was already the highest value in human history, and going up further would be demonic. It was also good to keep a little bit of the bottom card.
He nodded and asked the medic to test his grandson’s physique, and the results were equally satisfying.
“Grandfather, can you sign my surgery order now?” Zhou Yunsheng asked carelessly as he removed the various sensors on his body.
“Schedule Cecil for surgery as soon as possible.” Old Bernard looked to the two military doctors.
The two nodded their heads and did not object. Young Master Cecil’s potential was so heaven-defying, I’m afraid that even Osborne Matthew, who was known as the strongest man in the stars, couldn’t compare to him. If he was still allowed to remain as an omega, to be disturbed by his heat-phase at any time and submit to a certain alpha, it would be an insult to him, and would be tantamount to killing the Bernard family’s hope of restoring its former glory.
Whichever family young master Cecil married into took advantage of the sky, fortunately Osborne had no eyes and took the initiative to withdraw the marriage. The two military doctors secretly celebrated while going down to prepare for the surgery.
Old Bernard stroked his soon-to-be bald head and laughed freely.
“Don’t just be happy, arrange a training program for me right away. From now on this underground training ground is mine, no one is allowed in. At the beginning of September when Chelman enrolls, I must pass the test to become a reservist. The lost marshalship of the Bernard family will be taken back by me.” Zhou Yunsheng walked to the gravity training room to adjust the data.
It was now the end of July, and he had to work up his A-grade physique to a 3S grade in a month’s time. The enrollment test of Chelman Military School was very strict, every candidate who applied for the test had to sign a life and death certificate, and the death rate was as high as three percent. The people who can enter the Chelman Military School are all ruthless people who have killed people and seen blood, and they are not fooling around.
The thought of a future filled with smoke and death made his blood boil with excitement.
Old Bernard carefully observed his grandson’s expression and saw that his eyes radiated with ambition and was not deterred by the bloody enrollment exam, so he was even happier. He changed the permission of the training ground to only allow himself and his grandson to enter, and returned to his study to personally draw up a training plan.
———————————
The surgery was very successful, Zhou Yunsheng touched the circle of gauze wrapped around his neck and felt refreshed. The old Bernard didn’t tell anyone in the family about this, worrying that if they leaked the news, they would be in danger for their grandson.
But the scheming Cornell still senses something is up, and he tampers with the data of the robot in charge of cleaning Cecil’s room for him, having it collect the garbage that Cecil throws away for examination. He found several medications in a ball of gauze, medications designed to regulate hormones in the body for omega’s whose glands were cancerous. Because the glands don’t function anymore, these unfortunate omega’s need to rely on this drug’s tweaking in order to gradually return to a normal state of life, or else they will suffer from insomnia, hair loss, and mental decline.
Cecil had just had a physical before he got engaged, and there was nothing wrong with his glands at all, so why did he need this drug? Did he cut out his glands?
The idea was preposterous, but Cornell had been observing it for many days, becoming more and more certain that it was the truth. Cecil began to grow taller, his body became stronger, and although it was more than a match for the alpha, his originally soft and delicate body was gradually covered in a thin, fluid layer of muscle.
His features were still as colorful as ever, but the corners of his eyes added a lot of Englishness, and his pitch-black pupils radiated sharp edges from time to time, making him look very dangerous. In just half a month, he had evolved from a flashy flower into a fierce beast, making Cornell, who was secretly observing him, feel his heart skip a beat.
But then, when the feeling of danger receded, Cornell thought it was a heavenly good thing. Cecil had cut out his glands, so he would never be able to marry for the rest of his life, and the marriage to Matthew’s family would be able to be topped by Jasper. He was downright gleeful in his gratitude for Cecil’s fragile mental capacity to impulsively ruin his life for a man.
No wonder father had to come all the way back, surely to watch over Cecil and prevent him from doing anything stupid again.
Cornell broke the news to his son Jasper that night, telling him to hurry to his father to secure the marriage, which was hopeless for Cecil anyway.
As the saying goes, the blue is better than the blue, and when it comes to mind games, Jast doesn’t lose out to his mother in the slightest. With a twinkle in his eye, he posted a message anonymously on StarNet – Cecil Burnett couldn’t take the shock of being rejected for marriage and castrated himself.
Cecil had previously attended the Sinderson School of Art, in fact the vast majority of omega’s were educated there. Their delicate physique limited their range of employment, and they were naturally more emotional than others, making them better suited to artistic endeavors. In an interstellar world where omega’s are scarce, the vast majority of alpha’s and beta’s are willing to pursue them.
That’s why most of the good-looking omega’s are big stars with worldwide reputation before they get unmarried, and Cecil is one of the best of the best. He had made several movies after only two years of enrollment and had received a great response, and was the dream man of many alpha’s. The reason why the news of his rejection spread so fast and wide was also because of his distinctive status.
Now a wave has risen, and it’s a huge wave. His fans nearly blew up all of Starnet just looking for a truth. They couldn’t believe that Cecil would be desperate enough to never marry anyone else if he couldn’t marry Osbourne? How could he be so stupid!
Osborne has had a rough couple of days, walking down the street and meeting alpha’s who attack him for no reason. he was supposed to meet Joshua for lunch, but he had to fight a couple of times to get to his appointment, and he broke a little skin on his forehead.
“I don’t know what’s going on lately, but the number of people who have challenged me has suddenly increased, and they’re walking down the road and striking out with me without a second thought. A few more people challenged me today, so I apologize for being late.” He smiled demurely at the teenager. It was only in front of the teenager that he showed his gentle side. He was enamored with his hair, eyes, and lips, unable to stop his heart from leaping at the mere sight of him, and would even call his name over and over again in his dreams, as if he couldn’t get enough of it.
He never knew he would fall in love with someone at first sight, and the feeling of having his soul hit hard almost made him lose his mind. He spotted the teenager almost instantly among the thousands of freshmen and couldn’t wait to pursue him, and the fact that the teenager was even better on the inside than on the outside made it hard for him to stop himself.
Joshua used to enjoy Osborne’s mesmerizing gaze, but today he finds it hard to face. Osborne had turned down a marriage arranged by his family for him and had threatened that he didn’t need a birthing machine, but a lover who could stand alongside him. The words literally spoke into the depths of Joshua’s heart.
He had finally made up his mind to be with Osborne and was going to pick apart his omega status sometime, but didn’t expect Cecil to do something as crazy as that.
Right now, he felt as if his happiness with Osborne was built on Cecil’s misery, leaving him in no mood to enjoy the sweetness of a relationship.
“I think I know why. Take a look at this.” Joshua opened his personal terminal and pulled up one of the hottest stories on StarNet.
Osborne’s relaxed and pleasant expression was gradually replaced by seriousness. He shook his head incredulously, trying to say something but finding himself speechless.
“You shouldn’t have rejected him in public at the engagement party, you should have communicated with him properly in private.” Joshua was in a very low mood. He felt like he had ruined someone’s life, and the burden was so heavy that it was weighing him down.
“I couldn’t help it. Grandpa didn’t tell me that it was my engagement party, and at the end of the party, he suddenly called me out and asked me to drink the engagement wine with Cecil, with all the powerful people and the military present, and if I compromised, I wouldn’t be eligible to be with you, and I had no choice but to refuse on the spot. I didn’t want to fail you, so I had to fail him, can you understand my choice? I’m not the kind of alpha that can tag several omegas at random, I fall in love with whoever I fall in love with and I’m all about it.” Osborne held Joshua’s hand tightly, his gaze firm and clear.
Joshua was touched in his heart, but also a little resistant. He shook off his hand, grabbed his backpack and walked away without a word.
Osborne drained his glass before disheveling.
After a few more days, the furor not only did not die down but also intensified, with people constantly urging Cecil to come forward to clarify the situation, and cursing the Matthew family for being heartless and demanding that the Matthew family be held accountable. But no matter what, the old Matthew could not let his grandson marry a wife who was barren, so he proposed a marriage exchange to Johnny Burnett, and intended to give Cecil a large sum of money and send him to live on another planet.
Assuming, of course, that he does castrate himself.
Zhou Yunsheng spent day and night in the training room, and had no interest at all in outside rumors. Old Bernard, on the other hand, was furious and punched out the person sent by Old Matthew to get in touch with him, and also threatened that the Bernard family would never be joined in marriage with the Matthew family.
Jasper and Cornell couldn’t have been more agitated when their intentions fell through. But they knew that Osborne was a very responsible man, and he would never go without any indication.
Sure enough, after a week of clamor, a haggard-looking Osborne came to the Berners’ house to plead his case. At old Bernard’s orders, no one entertained him; Johnny was expelled from the house, Jasper and Cornell were locked in their rooms, and the only one who sat across from him in an awkward position was Cecil’s beta-brother, Archie, with whom he was wide-eyed.
“I want to see Cecil, or else I will come and visit the Berners punctually every day in the future.” Osborne demanded forcefully. He couldn’t look at Cecil’s self-inflicted injuries, and if he thought that would force his hand, he was wrong. He would never fall in love with someone with a stupid mind and a bigoted personality.
“Just a moment, I’ll ask Grandfather.” Alki tapped the personal terminal on his wrist.
Old Bernard’s bright voice came, “Has the Matthew’s brat gone yet?”
Algy gave Osborne an embarrassed look and shook his head, “He wouldn’t go, said he had to see brother Cecil or he would visit our house every day in the future.”
“What? The brat is too arrogant! Just wait, I’ll immediately send someone to drive him away and break both his legs!” Old Bernard had wanted to do this the day Osborne refused to marry him.
While Alki grew more and more embarrassed, Osborne didn’t even frown.
But soon, a breathless voice came from the other end of the terminal, “Wait, let him stay. I’m going to make a video with him to clear up the earlier rumors. Alki, you tell him to wait a moment, I’ll be right up.”
The terminal hung up and the raspy, sexy voice faded away, and Osborne felt his eardrums tickle a little and twitched in discomfort.
A few minutes later, a set of footsteps sounded outside the living room, and Osborne turned his head to look, his expression frozen. It had only been a month since he’d seen Cecil, and he’d already become a completely different person than he remembered.
His features were still as luscious as ever, but because of the slightly elongated eyebrows he looked stern to the extreme, and his originally pink lips had turned bright scarlet for some reason, and against his snow-white skin it was as if he had been coated in a layer of blood, revealing a shocking beauty. He grew a lot taller, although compared to the lanky alpha it was nothing, but standing alone it looked extraordinarily slender and upright.
His long black hair was cut into a short bob, which seemed to be covered in sweat and appeared to be dripping wet. He wore only a black work undershirt on his upper body, exposing his thin and smooth muscles, his graceful lines undulating and dropping tiny beads of sweat as he walked, his appearance sexy and hot.
He was even more voluptuous than he had been, the kind of voluptuousness that could burn everyone to ashes, like a sinuous mass of flowing lava. Osborne stiffened ten thousand percent as he approached, as if he hadn’t really seen what Cecil actually looked like until then.
His eyes touched his indifferent gaze for just a moment, and he felt a stabbing pain in his pupils, and had to close his eyes woefully before they flew open again, watching as he took the towel that Achille handed him and hastily wiped the beads of sweat off his body and hair.
He was acting nothing like an omega who was very conscious of his looks, his hair was a mess from the towel, but that added to his wildness and debauchery. He threw the towel away and grabbed a random white shirt from the hanger, greeting him absently as he put it on, “It’s been a long time, Osborne.”
The sexually-charged voice of a man who was still panting heavily after a strenuous workout made Osborne’s eardrums tingle. He smelled a faint odor of sweat, so wonderfully sweet that it instantly made him sit up and take notice.
Cecil’s sweat smelled this good, maybe he hadn’t cut out his glands. Osborne thought in a trance and reflexively said hello.
“I apologize for the distress I caused you earlier. But I’ve been very busy lately, so I haven’t had time to make a clarification on the matter. Now that you’re here, the timing is perfect, so let’s make a video to let everyone know the truth. It needs to be stated upfront that my decision has nothing to do with your previous refusal to marry.” Zhou Yunsheng walked over to him and sat down.
“So, you did remove the gland?” Osborne spoke with difficulty.
“That’s right.” Zhou Yunsheng ruffled his hair and showed a scar on the back of his neck to the other party, smiling brightly, “Don’t you have any psychological burdens, I’m doing this for the sake of my future, it’s not a self-inflicted act that can’t take the blow. In fact I’m glad you decisively backed out of this marriage, I, Cecil, don’t need the bondage of marriage.”
“Okay Grandfather, record the video for us.” He handed the camcorder to the smelly old Bernard and beckoned Osborne to sit closer.
Osborne moved to his side, his handsome face as hard as a carving. He could always smell the sweat on Cecil’s body, and it made him very uncomfortable.
“Has it started?” Zhou Yunsheng looked toward the camera.
“It’s on, if you have anything to say.” Old Bernard pressed the start button.
“Hello everyone, I’m Cecil and this is Osbourne beside me, we’re both sitting here today to clear up the previous rumors. I did have my glands removed, but not because I couldn’t take the shock of being rejected for marriage, but in preparation for entering the military. As a matter of fact, I’ve already submitted my application to Chelman and will be taking three entrance exams in early September.”
Osborne turned toward him with a startled gaze and spoke anxiously, “Chelman’s admissions exams are so harsh that even alpha can’t escape the three percent mortality rate, let alone you, an omega. please don’t ever be impulsive, don’t push yourself just because you want to prove something to me. You still have a better future ahead of you.” He remembered that when he had refused the marriage he had said that he didn’t like delicate omega’s who needed to be protected, and if Cecil had made that kind of decision because of that statement, he would have to stop him.
“No, you’re wrong,” Zhou Yunsheng smiled brightly, his eyes glittering with confidence dazzling all those who watched him, “I’m not trying to prove anything to you, or to anyone. I just feel that a person should take on as much social responsibility as they are capable of. With my ability I should have taken on a greater social responsibility than marrying and raising children. Of course, those omega’s who continue their offspring for the empire are equally great, and they deserve to be honored.”
Osborne tried to urge him further, but the teenager hugged him and spoke sincerely, “We’re still friends, Osborne, and I don’t hold it against you; on the contrary, I wish you and your lover the best of luck from the bottom of my heart.” His eyes were filled with so much warmth and pleasure that there was no doubt that he had moved on from that setback and intended to live for himself.
He was in great spirits and shone like a luminary.
Osborne came in a somber mood and left without feeling the slightest bit relaxed. He stood in the doorway, turning his head to look back at the teenager’s hurriedly departing back, his heart feeling like a chunk had been ripped out of it. The vague impression Cecil had left him with was replaced by the stark, voluptuous, confident teenager he was now, and could not be banished from his mind in any way.
He closed his eyes, and the pace of his departure was actually a little woeful.
Cecil’s video with Osbourne has raised a lot of eyebrows. They insisted that Cecil was trying to prove to Osborne that he wasn’t delicate to have crazy thoughts like that. Those who loved him tried to discourage him from being impulsive, those who hated him waited to see him die in an admissions test, and those who had no feelings for him set up bets and made fun of his life and death.
In the face of all this, Zhou Yunsheng took it lightly. He only left a sentence on the Star Network – wait and see.
The day after the video was sent out, Jast and Cornell were sent by old Bernard to an extremely remote planet belonging to the Bernard family, with orders that they were never to return to the empire planet.
