Somebody Stop the Pope – 81

Episode 81
5.
The situation was similar to when the monster wave of orcs came down in large numbers.
Everyone in the conference room was looking at me and I sighed as I continued my explanation.
“Magic disease is a disease caused by magic. In fact it is more appropriate to call it a curse than a disease. It is not fatal to those who have resistance to magic but it brings hell to those who do not.”
Plague was one of the most vicious diseases even in Eden.
It was a disease with a truly absurd mortality rate and contagiousness.
A person infected with the disease begins to spread demonic energy to those around them and anyone who comes into contact with the demonic energy spread by the patient will inevitably become infected.
People with innate anti-magic powers tend to be able to resist to some extent but it is extremely rare for such people to do so.
That’s not all the problem.
Some of those who are infected with the demonic spirit are consumed by the demonic energy and turn into monsters.
This condition is called a mine and the mines begin to attack people craving blood and flesh.
That was because the master of the magic that caused the magic to manifest in the first place was the Demon King of Gluttony.
The Demon King of Gluttony.
A fucking bastard who is driven by endless greed and is only satisfied by stuffing anything into his stomach.
The appearance of the horseman also meant that the guy had shown up somewhere on Earth.
“Kim Si-woo the Awakened One. Could you please elaborate on the magic?”
“It is literally the energy that originates from the demons. It tends to grow by feeding on negative emotions such as desire and anger… Unlike other energies it is classified into a total of seven types. And the magic that causes disease is only one magic the magic of gluttony.”
The United States was already aware of the existence of Magi and China likely had a large number of Magi users.
Because the home ground of the purifiers was China.
Among those who had heard my explanation a nun who had been quiet until now raised her right hand.
“Then what is the way to cure leprosy?”
“It’s simple. You just have to use your divine power to drive out the demonic energy within the patient’s body. The same goes for patients in the ‘Mine’ state where the demonic energy has taken over the brain and they show extreme aggression. If you drive out the demonic energy you can return them to normal.”
Minister Yoo Seon-ho sighed and replied to those words.
“We have already confirmed in the field that the divine power is effective for patients. That is why we have brought you here.”
The plague is a vicious and contagious disease.

That is why I had no choice but to ask Minister Yoo Seon-ho another question.
“Are you sure it’s completely under control?”
“Some personnel left the facility before control was established. We are tracking their movements.”
If the plague patients spread throughout the country chaos will ensue that cannot be compared to the gates or dungeons.
The only good thing is that the number of divine players is increasing.
Since the horse soldiers can be treated with a little bit of divine power if you divide up the tasks well you can easily overcome them.
I quickly finished calculating and then looked around the conference room and said.
“The rest of you should cooperate with the government and treat the infected outside the facility. The treatment isn’t that difficult. You just need to infuse the patient with divine power.”
Then the man who had been staring at me intently for a while responded in an aggressive tone.
“you are?”
“I will enter the restricted area and eliminate the source of the disease. I will also purify the patients inside.”
“Why do you want to monopolize such an important matter all by yourself? Shouldn’t you come in with us?”
“I agree with what he said.”
Baek Myeong-gyo’s Shim Jin-gyu agrees with the opinion of an unknown pastor thinking that this is the time.
It seemed that as expected from the Protestant and Baekmyeong Churches that are currently expanding their influence most aggressively in South Korea they were actively trying to prevent me from receiving attention alone.
I looked at them both and smiled faintly.
“You guys are still weak so this is not good. This is a warning to reduce unnecessary damage.”
“…now ignoring Protestantism….”
“Are there any irregulars in the Protestant or Baekmyeong Church? We have some. If you have any complaints bring the irregulars.”
“ha ha ha!”
At my words Baek Myeong-gyo’s Shim Jin-gyu burst into loud laughter.
“As expected you are so refreshing. I understand. We at Baekmyeonggyo will cooperate with the government’s instructions.”
Then representatives of all religions except Protestantism nodded obediently.
In particular the monk Beopun next to me laughed out loud and even clapped his hands.
“You are truly a hero of the Republic of Korea. Do you like temple food? When you have time please come visit our temple. I will secretly prepare some meat for you.”
“…Oh yes.”
What on earth does this monk do?
anyway.
Minister Yoo Seon-ho sighed and said as he saw the situation being roughly sorted out.
“Then let’s end this meeting by having the Limen Church enter the refugee camp and the rest of you help prevent the spread of infection. The situation is rather urgent so can the Limen Church move immediately?”
“All right.”
“If you need any assistance from our side please contact us directly through Director Kim Dong-sik. We will cooperate in any way.”
Thus my journey to Daejeon was confirmed.
6.
“I never thought I would encounter a cavalryman on Earth.”
“Doesn’t that mean they’re really starting to move? Maybe there’s an altar for the Purifiers there.”
Luna me and Director Kim were in the car heading to the scene.

It was a kind of advance party.
Luna and I will go there ourselves to check the situation in that area and then deploy Leo and the new recruits who are waiting at the temple.
I spoke to Director Kim while looking at the rapidly changing scenery outside the window.
“Was there a separate reason why you asked for help from the Divine series players?”
“There is a user of divine power on site. Thanks to him I have confirmed that divine power is excellent for treating diseases of unknown causes. That is why I called them in so hastily.”
“User of divine power?”
“He is the pastor of a pioneer church in a refugee camp. He says he recently awakened to divine powers but he couldn’t leave his post so he kept it hidden.”
It is said that the refugee village in Daejeon was formed after the opening of Dimension.
People whose homes were destroyed by the gates that were created in the early days.
The government settled them in the northern part of Daejeon and that was the beginning of a refugee camp.
Since it was a hastily built area the living environment would naturally not have been good.
“He has been taking care of refugees in that area for three years. He says that he didn’t report it even though he had obtained divine powers because of the gap created during the awakening training. People say that he gets trampled during that gap. According to our investigation he has a very strong popularity.”
“What a great person.”
I nodded and said.
Regardless of religion there are people like that everywhere. People who don’t just pass by poor people.
People like that deserve to be called heroes.
“Buddhist Catholic and Protestant Baekmyeonggyo groups have also dispatched players. They will join in tracking the movement and take immediate action. But do you really need any support?”
“Only we can trace the source. I have to go in and finish it myself.”
“Is it possible?”
“You don’t have to worry. This has happened several times in Eden.”
It is not very difficult to purify those who are infected with the disease. If necessary it is possible to purify them in one breath using the Wings of Purification.
However unless we find the source of the disease it will continue to repeat itself so the top priority is to find the source of the disease.
While I was talking to Director Kim the car arrived at the place where the military control line was set up.
“We have arrived Siwoo.”
“Your Majesty this won’t be easy will it?”
“hmm.”
As soon as Luna got out of the car she furrowed her delicate eyebrows. And I couldn’t help but follow her and harden my expression.
The refugee camp area was much larger than I had expected.
I heard that the maximum capacity here is 100000 people and it seems that is not wrong.
“The primary function of the current refugee camp is to temporarily accommodate the displaced until the damage is repaired. Although it started out as a refugee camp it is more appropriate to call it a refugee camp at present.”
“It seems like the capacity is full whether it’s refugees or displaced people.”
“Since the recent emergence of the message ‘The Age of the Rage’ the number of undetected gates and dungeons has increased. This has led to a large number of refugees.”
At first glance the refugee camp seemed to be crowded.
The situation was controlled by soldiers wearing hazmat suits setting up barricades in various places.
Looking at this part it is clear that the Earthlings responded very quickly. In Eden it was difficult to even isolate the patients with the disease.
“Despite wearing protective gear some soldiers are still infected. Accordingly there are voices within the military suggesting that the refugee camps be forcibly burned down to prevent infection.”
“It’s too early to bring up the final method. You’re talking about forced incineration but that means you’re going to kill those people.”
At my words Luna walked forward and said.
“Earthlings are not ordinary either. Do you remember Your Majesty how they destroyed a city in a kingdom in Eden to prevent the spread of the plague?”
“How could I not remember that?”
“It was the worst choice. I still remember it.”
If you kill patients without purifying their magic it will only have the opposite effect.
By the way the city that Luna spoke of had all of its citizens resurrected as undead.
In that state the magic spread out in all directions and the kingdom collapsed in an instant.
Because that happened in the midst of the ongoing war with the Demons I was in a state of panic trying to deal with it.
“The first thing we need to do is find the source of the demons. Luna as soon as you enter subdue the demons first.”
“Yes Your Majesty.”
Director Kim who had been quietly listening to our conversation asked me carefully.
“If I use those wings you showed me a few times wouldn’t it be possible to purify it all at once?”
“It is difficult to completely remove the magic that has consumed life with the Wings of Purification. And unless you remove the source of the magic disease you cannot completely subdue it.”
If you want to fill a bottomless pit with water it is only natural that you have to repair the pit first.
Even if purification is done it is only a temporary measure as long as the source of the disease remains intact.
I said to Director Kim as I took my gloves out of my pocket.
“I’ll be right back. Oh and is the pastor you mentioned earlier still inside?”
“Yes. Because it is a strict quarantine target.”
“Please take a picture of that person’s location on my phone. And while I’m at it I’d like to see their face. Luna? Let’s go in.”
“It’s been a while since I’ve relaxed.”
So I took Luna and entered the quarantine area.
[Warning! Magic is starting to be detected from all directions.]
Red message windows warning of danger began to fill my vision.
7.
In a small cave covered in darkness.
A voice almost hoarse resonates through the walls.
-Draenor has been destroyed. The ritual was successful but one altar was completely destroyed.
“What can the weak liches do? Hehe those unlucky skeleton kids are like that. That’s the limit of the undead.”
-He wants you to be careful. The land you are in is too dangerous. He wants all the servants there to stop their plans and return to the high altar.
“My plan is already complete. It will take a little while for the results to come out. I will return with sufficient results and be acknowledged by Him.”
-Face reality. There is nothing you can achieve there. No matter how lowly and incompetent a servant you are it is harmful to us to die in vain.
The monster that had been writhing in the darkness rose up.
The monster spoke as he grabbed a small gray-glowing orb in his hand.
“Akaris. Your days of looking down on me are numbered. Enjoy yourself now. It won’t be long before you have no choice but to submit to me.”
-You’re being greedy when you haven’t even gotten a name. You haven’t gotten a name in any future. I warn you again. Get out of there….
Kwajijijik.
The monster crushed the orb with his hand. The moonlight coming from outside the cave illuminated his blackened hand.
The monster looked at its own hand as if in ecstasy. Then it cut its own wrist with its purple claws and burst into a frenzy splattering blood on the ground.
“It’s not long now! It’s not long before I get my name!”
His blood which had been scattered across the ground began to slowly spread out.
