    Episode 69

    6.

Late evening after the sun had set.

I felt very relieved because I had already taken care of things as soon as I arrived in Japan.

The Japanese government immediately provided me with accommodations at a top-class hotel in Tokyo.

Instead of just one room they gave me an entire floor to share with my coworkers.

Is it much easier for you to do security operations?

I refused because I was not the type of person who needed security but they said “If you don’t do this you will be cursed by the people.” I couldn’t just refuse their favor. So I just accepted it.

The events that took place leading up to our arrival at this hotel were also truly impressive.

After arriving in Tokyo by helicopter on the way from the helipad to the hotel Japanese people lined up and waved the Taegeukgi (Korean national flag).

They were truly grateful to me.

    anyway.

So I wanted to go back to the hotel and rest for a while.

    “Get out of here savage.”

“Didn’t we decide to be friends?”

“This won’t do Leo? Fold this little brat up and throw him out of the room.”

“I’ll try my best but I don’t think it’ll fold well. I think the material is….”

“Fold people? How could you say such uncivilized things to your friend!”

This savage savage bastard is disturbing my rest.

I frowned deeply as I looked at the guy.

“Who calls someone uncivilized when they are savages?”

    “Siu. I am a gentleman.”

“Who told you to call me by my name? And the gentlemen I know don’t walk around naked like you do.”

“If you live naked for 20 years you will find it more bothersome to wear something.”

“I should have just pretended I made a mistake and let it go.”

    Regret always comes too late.

I took a deep breath took an apple from the basket on the table and took a bite.

And he spoke to Aiden in a calm tone.

“You’re really okay with me breaking up on TV being broadcast live to the whole world?”

Then Aiden nodded as if it was obvious.

“My honor was slightly hurt but in return I gained a friendship with you. It was no loss.”

“Do they think that way in America too?”

“I would be more than happy to take you to America but this is enough. I’m sure our president is talking to your president by now.”

“I don’t feel like talking about politics.”

“Irregulars are just like that. They can’t help but get involved in politics even if they don’t want to. Naturally politicians follow strong power. That’s the same in any world. You know that don’t you?”

It was the same in Eden.

“When I first saw you I thought even your brain was made of muscle.”

“Leading a great tribe is impossible with force alone.”

By the way Aiden said that he returned after being in a world called Manus for 20 years.

It was a dimension with a harsh environment and a dimension where tribes constantly fought each other for survival.

Just looking at the scars carved into Aiden’s body his life in the other world wasn’t easy.

    “Don’t you feel wronged?”

    “What?”

    “You owe me something.”

Aiden looked at me strangely at my question. Then he drank the entire bottle of whiskey he was holding wiped his mouth and answered.

“I lost because I was weaker than you. But why is that unfair?”

“Of course since I borrowed the power of God?”

“Sophistry. No matter whose power you borrowed you eventually became strong through your own will. And the smell of blood emanating from your body proves that you have overcome countless battlefields. That is why I am neither resentful nor sad that I lost to you.”

He might be a pretty good guy….

“By the way when are we going to take a bath together? We must follow the tribe’s traditions.”

He must be just a crazy kid.

“Leo. Just kick this kid out.”

“Yes Your Majesty. I will do my best.”

“I think there’s a misunderstanding. I like women. There are twelve wives over there…”

    “Get him out quickly!”

At my direction Leo dragged Aiden out like he was dragging a garbage bag and I let out a deep sigh as I watched him.

The return schedule is two days later.

It was originally a three-day event and I thought it would be a good opportunity to establish a foundation for our church in Japan.

There is a lot of work to be done including discussing with the Japanese government about placing sacred stones in the affected areas.

    “hmm.”

I took another bite of the apple while looking at the night view of Tokyo outside the window.

    Where should we go tomorrow?

Since I’m in Japan I want to enjoy some hot springs… and I also need to find an island to give to our Siyeon.

    Knock knock.

It was then that someone knocked on my door and soon I heard Leo’s voice through the door.

“Your Majesty a guest has arrived.”

Who would be the kind of guest who would come this late at night?

    “Tell them to come in.”

    “Yes Your Majesty.”

Then soon an elderly gentleman and Mr. Ryu Jin-young entered the room cautiously.

The old gentleman who came into the room spoke to me in rather awkward Korean.

“Nice to meet you Kim Siwoo. I am Hiroto Sasaki the Prime Minister of Japan.”

Last time it was the President of South Korea and this time it’s the Prime Minister of Japan.

It certainly seems like I’ve become something of a big shot.

I stood up held out my hand to him and said with a smile

“I am Kim Si-woo who leads the Limen Church. I can understand you even if you speak in Japanese.”

“Oh really? It’s truly a mysterious ability. I brought our army here just in case and I’m glad we can talk to them in person.”

“You speak Korean better than I thought.”

“My mother is Korean. So I do a little bit. And I learn Korean from Jinyoung from time to time.”

Ryu Jin-young expressed his discomfort at those words.

“Your Majesty. It’s fine when we’re alone but here….”

“Isn’t this a private place? Isn’t that right Siwoo?”

“It’s nice to see that the Prime Minister cares a lot about Jinyoung.”

Earlier the Awakened people at the base camp didn’t seem to treat Ryu Jin-young as a comrade but Prime Minister Sasaki seemed very different.

The way he looked at Ryu Jin-young had a warmth in his eyes as if he was looking at his son.

“I don’t know what’s going on but let’s sit down and talk.”

    “Huh is that so?”

Prime Minister Sasaki put down his fedora at my suggestion and sat down carefully on his chair.

If there’s any tea I’ll treat you to it.

    It’s just a pity.

Prime Minister Sasaki who was sitting in his seat looked at me with a kind smile.

“I feel heavy-hearted because I feel like I interrupted your rest.”

“It’s okay. I was already thinking about what to do tomorrow while looking at the night view.”

Suddenly I remember the story President Seo told me last time.

Didn’t you say that most of the work done by the leader of a group is done in informal settings?

“On behalf of Japan I would like to express my gratitude for your help in defeating Yamata no Orochi.”

Prime Minister Sasaki began his speech with a thank you note and then spoke in a low voice.

    So 10 minutes later.

I listened to Prime Minister Sasaki’s words until the end then nodded and said.

“Of course it’s good for us.”

    [A quest has occurred.]

    [Church expansion – Japan]

    ●Type: Sub – DLC

●Explanation: Interest in the Rimen sect is spreading rapidly in Japan. If they build a <temple> that can become the center of their faith the number of believers will increase even more.

    ●Completion conditions

-Build a <temple> of the Rimen sect within Japanese territory.

●Reward: 10000 points of sacred points for the trait <Overseas Mission>

*This quest is not required to be completed.

**There is no time limit for completing the quest.

Prime Minister Sasaki’s proposal was simple.

To conclude the request was for a temple of the Rimen sect to be built in Japan as well.

I couldn’t give a direct answer because in order to build a temple you have to pull in relics through relic points.

To be honest I never imagined they would make the first offer.

It’s only been a day since I arrived in Japan.

It wasn’t even a matter of hours before my name started to spread.

Nevertheless Prime Minister Sasaki requested the construction of the shrine without any hesitation.

-Religion is a group that shares values that transcend national borders called faith. I think the Rimen Sect’s temple will bring a warm spring breeze to the tense Korea-Japan relationship. If there are people who share the same faith the hatred toward each other will decrease. Don’t you think so?

These are the words Prime Minister Sasaki left for me as he left.

As expected of a politician he was a smooth talker. He wanted a warm breeze to blow in Korea-Japan relations.

I didn’t know this but it is said that since the Rising Sun Society took over the mainstream of the Japanese Awakened Society the relationship between Korea and Japan has seriously deteriorated.

Moreover the incident in which Mr. Ryu Jin-young moved to Japan added fuel to the fire.

The Jeon Gak-ryeon guys had a hidden plot behind it but the people still don’t know the background.

Since 2010 Korea-Japan relations have been steadily worsening but the situation has become even more serious since Dimension Opening.

In such a situation it was almost absurd to try to create a mood of reconciliation through the Limen Church.

To be blunt South Korea and Japan have a very deep conflict that cannot be resolved through religious groups alone.

For example historical issues or the Dokdo issue.

No matter how rapidly the recognition of our Limen sect has risen recently is it possible to narrow the gap in the conflict in an instant?

“I find it hard to believe Your Majesty.”

The Prime Minister left first but Ryu Jin-young who came with the Prime Minister remained in my room.

The fact that Mr. Ryu Jin-young remained in my room was entirely due to the Prime Minister’s will.

How about having a good conversation with the young people who will create the future together?

I nodded while looking at Ryu Jin-young.

“I’m not the Pope of the Catholic Church and I don’t have enough influence to resolve conflicts between countries. Especially when it comes to Korea-Japan relations how could it be easy? You know that Jinyoung don’t you?”

    “It might be possible.”

    “What makes you so sure?”

“Mr. Shiwoo is an Irregular recognized by the United States. In other words he is the first Irregular in Northeast Asia recognized by the United States. On the other hand there are no Irregulars in Japan. If another evil force of the level of Yamata no Orochi appears it is inevitable that they will suffer great damage.”

Ryu Jin-young’s logic was a very simple logic of power.

“Even if the US and Japan are allies there is no guarantee that the US will always send Irregulars like it does now. Furthermore Irregulars are usually located within their own territory. Even if they send Irregulars it is highly likely that the damage will have accumulated as in this case. However….”

    “I’m right next to you.”

    “Yes.”

I stood up from my seat and nodded slowly.

Of course friends nearby are more reliable than friends far away.

That was something that even an elementary school student could understand. However there are quite a few prerequisites here.

“If the Rising Sun Society is the mainstream of Japanese Awakened Society can the two countries really become friends?”

“First of all we will sort out the Rising Sun Society. And regarding the historical issue His Excellency will personally apologize to the Republic of Korea and its people. Compensation will also be provided.”

“Was it such an easy decision?”

Ryu Jin-young answered my question with a bitter smile.

“Isn’t that how international politics is? That’s just how irregulars are.”

“The request to build a temple for the Limen sect was just lip service. It seems like they just needed me an irregular.”

“It’s not just for that reason. If we share the same religion it will definitely help the two countries to unite. And… if the Rimen Sect’s temple is in Japan there’s no way that Lord Shiu would just leave it alone.”

“I think the latter is the more important reason.”

“I think so too but His Majesty told me to push for the former as much as possible.”

Ryu Jin-young smiled with difficulty. And I smiled back at him.

“It doesn’t seem like it’ll be easy to get rid of those Rising Sun Society guys. They’re like the Japanese Senkakuren.”

    “You don’t have to worry.”

He continued speaking in a firm voice.

“The reason they have been able to continue to grow until now is because of our tacit approval.”

    “You condoned it?”

“They’re trash but it’s true that they were solving some local gate problems. Even though it was getting out of control because of them… Now that they’re useless they should definitely be eliminated.”

    “It’s a toss and turns.”

It’s right to boil a useless hunting dog.

I looked at Ryu Jin-young. He wasn’t the type of person to say empty words.

Eyes that are filled with conviction and responsibility. When these people lie it is obvious.

As I watched him quietly my personal curiosity arose.

    “Mr. Ryu Jin-young.”

    “yes.”

“I’m not on good terms with those Jeon Gak-ryeon guys either. If I wipe out all those Jeon Gak-ryeon guys would you like to come back to South Korea? Public opinion… Well I think they’ll understand if I explain it well.”

Ryu Jin-young smiled faintly at my suggestion. Then he quickly walked over to the window and gazed at the brightly lit night view of Tokyo.

“There’s a kid who has been writing me a thank you letter every Monday for the past two years. He says he’s grateful that I saved his family and that he wants to be like me. At first his handwriting was hard to read but it gradually improved over time.”

A pleased smile spread across his face.

And he looked at me and said

“There are things I have to protect here too. And isn’t there already Siwoo in South Korea? There’s no reason for me to go back and cause controversy.”

    He is a strong person.

A person that Luna would really like if she saw him.

I looked at Ryu Jin-young quietly and asked him quietly.

    “How old are you?”

“In Earth years I’m 31 years old. In other world years….”

“It seems like the time difference is different so please just count my age based on Earth age. I’m 27 years old so can I call you hyung?”

    “Oh yes. It’s comfortable…”

    That was when.

    Kwaaaaaaaang!

Someone came in breaking down the door and then shouted in a loud voice.

“Oh there was a Japanese magician there too. He was impressive because of the way he looked at me.”

“Leo. Why is that kid here again?”

“I’m sorry Your Majesty. My strength was not enough.”

    “…Phew.”

“Drinking together is more fun! Koreans Japanese aliens Americans! This is the true melting pot of races the true spirit of America. Okay I brought plenty of whiskey. Let’s each take one bottle. I heard from my brother Leo that the Remen Church doesn’t have a prohibition doctrine. Let’s drink a lot!”

    I couldn’t sleep tonight either.

I should’ve just pretended to make a mistake and sent it away.

    Use it.

    Our Pope please stop this
