    Episode 53

    5.

    “It’s not fun.”

Lee Se-hee pouted her lips as she looked at the employees of the Department of Ability Management who had collapsed in front of her.

It was so trivial even though it was trivial.

They did nothing to relieve her boredom.

“There are more civilians than Awakened people in Building 2. Furthermore there are only a few Awakened people in the government who can handle you. That’s only natural.”

    “Ugh. But it’s still boring.”

“Our goal is to retrieve the vessel that is being held in the top-floor detention cell and escape. If there is any disruption to our work he will not stay still.”

“But what can I do when I’m bored? When I’m bored I want to have fun even if it means killing my colleagues.”

    “…Crazy bitch.”

“Being crazy isn’t a bad thing. Being weak is.”

She glanced at her masked leader then looked away again.

And she spoke to a man who was lying at her feet.

“Right sir. You’re a bad person. That’s why you’re being punished like this. Right sir if you’re from a government agency do you know where Kang Chae-ah is? I heard she’s been missing for the past month…”

As she said that Lee Se-hee took off the name tag that was hanging around the man’s neck. Then she looked at it quietly.

“Kim Dong-sik? I guess that’s your name. If it’s the Special Investigation Bureau shouldn’t it be in the main building and not Building 2?”

“There’s some work to do at Building 2.”

“Anyway it’s good. If it’s the Special Investigation Department then it’s the real power in the Department of Abilities Management right? Then I know where that bitch Kang Chae-ah is.”

    Kang Chae-ah.

One of the few S-class Hunters remaining in the government and her long-time rival.

Lee Se-hee pathologically asked Kim Dong-sik about Kang Chae-ah’s whereabouts but the answer he got was the same.

“I don’t know. How could a mere civil servant like me know your whereabouts?”

“Ugh. Then that’s difficult. If you don’t answer me I’ll kill you. Do you know why I kept you alive? There aren’t many people who can raise their heads stiffly in front of me.”

    Whoosh whoosh-!

She raised a blue flame from her hand.

A state where one can ignite flames by simply moving one’s magical powers.

Although it was a small fire like a candle everything that touched it turned to ash.

And that destructive flame was the force that gave Lee Se-hee such great notoriety.

“You know they say that the pain of being burned is the most painful pain a living thing can feel. So I kept experimenting with it and it seems to be roughly true. They all screamed until their vocal cords melted.”

Her eyes sparkled with a strange excitement.

“If you tell me honestly where Kang Chae-ah is I will kill you cleanly and painlessly.”

“I’m sorry but our special investigation department only deals with repatriates. And government officials don’t know anything that isn’t their job.”

    “That’s fun.”

    Pass the pass-!

    “Ughhhhh.”

The moment Lee Se-hee’s flame touched Kim Dong-sik’s right arm a small scream escaped from between his lips.

    “what.”

That wasn’t the result Lee Se-hee wanted.

I brought it towards her with the intention of burning at least one of her arms to ashes but her flames only burned her skin.

The Kim Dong-sik in front of him was a kind of stray being who couldn’t even match the magical power of a Class A Hunter.

But for some reason a subtle inexplicable energy blocked her flame.

    Something other than magic.

Lee Se-hee smiled as she licked her upper lip with her tongue. Her expression was like that of a child who had received a new toy.

“What kind of ability is that? How did you stop my flames when you’re a slob?”

    “Lee Se-hee. There’s no time.”

Her colleague who couldn’t stand to watch urged her on.

“Work comes first. I’d like to pursue personal hobbies later if possible.”

“I want to take this old man and look into it. It’s been a while since I’ve felt motivated to research! Since the building of the Department of Abilities Management was attacked wouldn’t kidnapping a government official be okay?”

    “…Let’s do that.”

The leader readily accepted her request to avoid unnecessary conflict.

Lee Se-hee is a time bomb that is lethal even to her allies.

If it weren’t for the influence of ‘Him’ whom they believed in and followed it would have been impossible to even control them.

He gave orders to his other subordinates to take care of Kim Dong-sik and they followed their leader’s orders knocking Kim Dong-sik unconscious and carrying him away.

    “A variable has occurred.”

Lee Se-hee opened her eyes wide and asked back at the leader’s words.

“Variable? What variable? Could it be Kang Chae-ah?”

“Kim Si-woo. They say Kim Si-woo is around Building 2. I have to finish this work before he gets here.”

“Ah! That Irregular guy who single-handedly stopped the Monster Wave? Isn’t that a good thing? This is the chance to take that kid down….”

    That was when.

    Kwajijijijik- Kuuuuung!

There was a sound of something creaking and a moment later the large man holding Kim Dong-sik fell to the floor.

The skull of the masked giant was crushed beyond recognition.

And after a while a playful voice was heard in their ears.

“Oh. You said that if you rebelled you would be killed… Let’s just say that you rebelled. Okay? Our His Majesty nags a lot more than you think.”

“Lord Reventon. It is in accordance with doctrine to first recommend surrender.”

“Then let’s say they attacked you before I could offer you surrender. Leo you said you would surrender earlier but you folded it in half right?”

“I just didn’t hear the surrender declaration.”

There stood a man in priestly garb and a woman in pure white armor.

Lee Se-hee looked at the two with an amused expression.

“What? Our kids must have been all over the floor below. Did they come up through there?”

“Lee Se-hee’s situation is not good. Those two are fighters belonging to the Limen Sect. That woman in particular…”

The leader spoke to her in a more serious voice but Lee Se-hee waved her hand and raised the corners of her mouth.

“What are you talking about when things are getting interesting? You’re saying that guy Kim Si-woo is a punk? Do you think I can lose to a cult leader’s bastard subordinate? I guess I can test out the power I received from him.”

    Whoosh whoosh-!

Her body was instantly covered in blue flames. She looked like the embodiment of fire her entire body on fire.

And that wasn’t the end of it.

The black color that began to spread from her chest engulfed her blue flames and soon her body began to burst with black flames.

    ‘Ahhhhh!’

Lee Se-hee couldn’t hide her excitement at the feeling of fullness that spread throughout her body.

The pleasure that overwhelming power brings is incomparable to orgasm.

This flame was so hot that it could even melt steel. When we tested it in a remote rural village last time it vaporized a house without a trace.

Of course your family members who were sleeping inside too.

This black flame with its ecstatic destructive power was a blessing bestowed upon her by ‘He’.

She looked at the other person with half-open eyes and spoke in a voice that had become even stickier.

“I love the screams of people dying in fire. I wish you could satisfy me with your screams.”

Lee Se-hee lightly flicked her fingers.

Then black flame snakes appeared from the ground where the strange enemies had been standing.

The snakes wrapped themselves around the man and woman in the blink of an eye.

Lee Se-hee raised the corners of her mouth as she looked at the black snake that had coiled up in an instant.

“You can’t even scream? That’s disappointing. I had high expectations because you showed up so energetically…”

    That was when.

A coiled black snake burst out from within and soon something wrapped in a white membrane rushed towards her.

What happened in less than a second.

Lee Se-hee quickly built ten layers of flame walls.

    Kwaaaaaaaah!

But the wall did nothing to help and her body soon collided violently with the white meteor.

    “Whoa!”

Her body was thrown backwards by the tremendous recoil but her body was not thrown backwards.

“I’m the one who’s disappointed you bitch.”

The pure white knight grabbed her by the collar and lifted her up. The black flames surging from Lee Se-hee’s body did not inflict even the slightest damage on the knight.

“It’s common sense that a wizard should always keep a certain distance when dealing with a knight but you don’t even know that basic thing.”

    Drunk on power.

I didn’t know that my opponent could break through the black flames so easily.

Lee Se-hee quickly raised her magical power to try to escape the knight’s grasp.

But her attempts were in vain as an unknown energy dug into her body.

“If you hadn’t accepted the magic you might have had a chance at least once. Didn’t the one who gave you the power tell you to be careful with divine power?”

    “Divine… power?”

“Still there is one thing that you and I have in common.”

    Hwaaaaaaaah!

Pure white flames shot out from Lee Se-hee’s feet.

    And at that moment.

    “Gyaaaaaaah!”

A terrible pain shook her whole body.

Amid the pain that seemed to burn her soul a sly voice dug into her ear.

“I like screaming too. Especially from bitches like you.”

    6.

    ‘It’s the worst.’

The man ran down the stairs with his lips pursed.

    The operation had already failed.

All the forces he had brought collapsed on the 32nd floor. Among them was Lee Se-hee who was one of the forces he had kept hidden.

Lee Se-hee was the greatest force he could muster.

She was originally a powerful magician who was evaluated as an S-class hunter but after receiving baptism from him she was reborn as something more than that.

Enough to burn down a small town in the countryside by himself.

    But she was surprisingly subdued.

    And to an unknown woman.

    And that wasn’t all.

    ‘If you stop you die.’

Even apart from the woman in the pure white armor the man in priestly robes who came with her was also a terrible monster.

The man was chasing him folding his men in half as easily as if they were pieces of paper.

His men threw themselves into the fight to buy as much time as possible but it was only a delaying measure.

‘I have to retrieve the bowl.’

Since it had come to this at least the initial goal had to be achieved.

The man continued to climb the stairs clutching the portal scroll he had hidden in his bosom.

How long did you run like that?

“38th floor – Special detention area/No entry for authorized personnel”

He was able to reach the floor he was aiming for.

    Special detention area.

A place where Awokens are temporarily detained while being investigated by the Ability Management Department before being transferred to the Awoken-only prison.

After confirming that it was blocked by a thick special door the man immediately cut the iron door with his sword.

    Kuuuuung!

The door that had been installed to prevent the prisoners from escaping was cleanly split in two and the man hurried inside.

Then those who had been waiting inside the door bowed their heads toward him and spoke.

    “Are you here branch manager?”

“You fucking idiots! Once you’ve captured the target you should get out immediately!”

“Sorry! The emergency shutdown system has been activated.”

    “What’s the target?”

“This is the guy. He tried to kill us as soon as we let him go so we had no choice but to knock him out. Two of our people died in the process.”

At those words the man frowned and looked at the male student in his subordinate’s hand.

The boy who appeared to be in his mid-teens at most had someone’s blood on both hands.

The man quickly realized that the boy was a ‘vessel’.

Because I felt a great devilishness coming from the boy.

“Chief is there something going on down there? That crazy bitch Lee Se-hee came with you.”

“There is no time to explain. You all head to the magic circle set up on the rooftop immediately. I will use the portal scroll to escape with the target.”

    “Yes! I understand!”

The number of subordinates in the detention area was fifteen.

If they were it would buy them some time from the monsters chasing them from below.

Upon hearing the order his men all headed towards the stairs and the man frowned as he watched their backs.

‘3 minutes. Just give me 3 minutes.’

The magic circle installed on the rooftop wasn’t a teleportation magic circle in the first place.

A kind of self-destruct magic circle.

The moment they reach the rooftop a huge explosion spell will be cast using their bodies as a medium.

They don’t know it but except for Lee Se-hee they were originally brought in as consumables. If they could just buy the three minutes it would take for the portal scroll to be used they would have been more than useful.

    Booooooo-!

The man immediately tore the portal scroll and a magic circle for escape began to form.

‘When we get back we must immediately gather the other branch leaders and destroy the Limen sect.’

It was a level that even Kim Si-woo’s subordinates had difficulty handling.

If left alone it was likely to eventually grow into the biggest threat to their plans.

    Kwaaaaang-!

Judging from the loud noise coming from the stairs it seemed like the monster was chasing the men.

‘Okay I’ll just run away like this….’

“Using your subordinates as bait to escape… Even if you’re a villain isn’t that strategy too cliché?”

He just blinked once. And just like that a thin man in black priest’s robes appeared before his eyes.

It was a face he knew.

    “Kim… Siwoo.”

Irregulars suddenly appeared in South Korea.

A returnee who single-handedly blocked a wave of monsters.

Kim Si-woo looked back and forth between the man and the boy with a strange expression. Then he spoke as if he found it interesting.

“I get it now. That bastard is the incarnation of the Demon King? I can see what you guys are trying to do. But… shouldn’t you be careful?”

“What the heck is that… Kkaaaaaaah!”

    Kkwaddddddddddd-!

The boy who had been lying down just a moment ago was now biting the man’s neck.

Kim Si-woo’s voice quietly echoed in my fading mind.

“The demon lord’s incarnations basically gain strength through cannibalism. Isn’t that basic common sense? That’s why knowledge is power.”

It only took three seconds for the boy to devour the man.

The boy who had been greedily eating humans looked at Kim Si-woo with his red eyes.

Kim Si-woo also raised the corners of his mouth as he met the boy’s eyes.

“Now I see that it wasn’t that we were unlucky. Rather we were the lucky ones.”

    After a while.

    Kkiyaaaaaaaaaaah!

The beast’s howling shook the entire building.

    Our Pope please stop this
