Somebody Stop the Pope – 36

Episode 36
7.
“crazy.”
Kim In-wook couldn’t help but be shocked as he watched the scene streaming from the monitor.
And Kim In-wook wasn’t the only one who was shocked.
-?
-?
-Wow shit…
-Is that magic???
-crazy
-ah…
The chat window’s refresh rate stopped momentarily.
All the viewers who had been chatting so fast that it was impossible to keep up with the conversation just a moment ago suddenly stopped chatting as if they had been shocked.
No to be precise it would be ‘I had no choice but to stop’.
Because everyone would have been equal in the face of the brutal and overwhelming violence perpetrated on screen.
The scene was not real but rather resembled something from a movie or drama.
How many people can confidently say that is reality?
-Is this also a fabrication?
-Would that be a fabrication? Was there even a hunter in Korea who could create such a situation?
-Wow…fuck.
-Is this irregular?
-Isn’t this just a tactical nuclear weapon???
Countless huge spears were stuck in the vast field.
The windows deeply embedded in the ground each contained a sacred light and radiated light in all directions.
It was too terrifying to be called holy and too terrifying to be called holy.
And more than anything the scene was even more shocking because it was created by Kim In-wook’s older brother.

‘…Really irregular.’
Until this morning he was the one who hit the back of my head and suggested we make some soybean paste stew for dinner.
When my brother who came back after 5 years said that he was an irregular it was hard to believe but I believed him.
Because there’s no reason for my brother to tell such a lie.
There were rumors in the world that the government had manipulated my brother’s irregular rating but I didn’t believe in such a conspiracy theory.
But apart from belief it seems that ‘realizing’ that my brother was an irregular was a problem of a different dimension.
The power of the irregular-level returner which was only known through rumors was a burden even to Kim In-wook who had become accustomed to the players.
‘There’s no comparison.’
Even if we bring in the best hunters in South Korea would we dare compare him to my brother?
Kim In-wook thought quickly but couldn’t bring himself to make a comparison.
To that extent his brother’s power was not only overwhelming but even thrilling and terrifying.
Even Lee Se-hee who is known as the best magic player in South Korea would not be able to reach the power that Hyung just showed.
‘miracle.’
Why does that word suddenly cross my mind?
And that miracle is changing countless things even at this very moment.
-Those kids who see this and still call it a hoax really have a problem with their intelligence.
-Are we really now an irregular possession country?
-China has 4 people but you’re so happy that you only have 1. Tsk tsk
-Please go back to that country.
-What’s the use of an irregular that doesn’t even get measured properly?
-I’m going to apply for admission to the Limen Church.
-But am I the only one who’s scared…? Can such an awakened person really be controlled?
A power that surpasses imagination cannot even be denied.
As you can see just by looking at the chat window there were no more people raising question marks.
A true irregular.
Maybe this is why my brother insisted on doing a live broadcast?
‘…everyone leaves.’
One thing was for sure a lot would change after this live broadcast.
And the one at the center of that change will be his older brother Kim Si-woo.
Although it may not be receiving much attention right now due to the nationwide disaster it was clear that once the situation was resolved everyone’s attention would naturally be focused on it.
At that moment Kim In-wook was looking at the screen and was overcome with numerous emotions.
-uh?
-Did something move over there just now?
-The orc is alive???
-You’re saying you can live after being hit like that?
The chat started to scroll down quickly and Kim In-wook hurriedly checked the screen.
As the viewers said a giant orc that was clearly thought to be dead was rising up.

But after a while.
Kwaaaaaaaang-!
A spear flew in from somewhere and pierced the orc’s broad chest and the orc lowered his head while holding the white spear shaft that had pierced his body.
The silence that followed.
The camera briefly focuses on the orc whose breathing is clearly cut off and then returns to Kim Si-woo.
‘Then that’s right.’
Kim In-wook couldn’t help but chuckle without realizing it at the sight of Kim Si-woo shaking his hands in annoyance.
8.
Honestly I didn’t think the overlord would die in one hit.
Even though the intensity of <The Tomb of the Holy Spear> was weakened due to the causality limitation I didn’t know it would be able to endure it even once.
As soon as I confirmed that the guy had endured it I killed him by throwing one of the spears that had been stuck nearby but the process itself was not entirely satisfactory.
From the beginning I planned to press down with overwhelming force in one go.
“No matter how much I think about it the ending is disappointing.”
“No Your Holiness. You have shown a truly great side. You have shown a human side as well so I don’t think there could be a more perfect result.”
“That’s true but this is a matter of pride. No really it’s a bit unfair. I was just trying to send it to the room and get some weight but wow you’re saying you can hold it?”
To conclude the operation was a great success.
After the Overlord died by my hand everything went as I expected.
The monster wave naturally disintegrated as the orcs awakening to their true nature that the overlord had suppressed began fighting each other again.
The large guilds led by the Jeon Gak-ryeon suggested that it would be a good idea to take advantage of the gap to recover some of the lost land but this opinion quickly died down.
Because rather than such an urgent goal serious threats were spreading right before our eyes.
<Breaking News) A giant chaos gate has formed in the Busan area! The risk level has been raised from B+ to A+. A mobilization order has been issued to all players in the Gyeongnam region!>
<Players belonging to a large guild that had gathered in Munsan-eup Paju-si begin moving urgently>
<Kim Si-woo the first irregular in South Korea why is he not moving in this crisis situation?>
<Where is the leadership of the Republic of Korea in crisis?>
“Wouldn’t you want to go and help me?”
I too would have liked to have gone and supported you.
but.
[Your use of divine power is partially restricted for 24 hours on Earth as the causality assigned to you reaches its limit.]
Because of the system’s wickedness which can only be described as ‘wise man’s time’ support was quickly abandoned.
I had no intention of deliberately testing the system given that the system was giving off a strong message that I should be cautious.
“By the way can I ask you something personal?”
I nodded in response to Minsu’s question taking a sip of the water that was on the desk.
“Just ask.”
“The power the Pope showed should have been enough to reduce the orc population but it seemed like he had released the orcs on purpose. Did I see things wrong?”
“Brother Minsu certainly has a keen eye for detail. He saw it clearly.”
Even if causality had reached its limit there was still plenty of time to reduce the number of orcs as Minsu had said.
If we had just thrown a few spears at the swarm of orcs their numbers would have definitely decreased.
Yet the reason I did not reduce the population of orcs was very simple.
“Orcs are extremely intelligent creatures that form tribal societies. They are born with extreme hostility but at least they have the ability to learn. Furthermore they are extremely ruthless creatures that hunt other creatures without mercy.”
That’s also a unique trait they possess because they are monsters belonging to a race of subhumans.
In fact according to the research results in Eden the number of monsters other than orcs around the orc village was extremely small.
That means that if you just keep them alive for a while they can become excellent monster suppressors.
In the case of Earth it would be more accurate to say monster.
“There’s no need to reduce the excellent suppression resources since there’s no plan to recover all the lost lands right away anyway. They probably won’t even look at this side for a while since they’ve tasted my spiciness firsthand today.”
Orcs are also people who feel fear.
Should I call it selective intermittent explosive disorder or an instinctive survival instinct?
Unless another special entity called the Overlord appears they will return to their original habitat.
And as I have been doing so far I will increase my power by hunting the monsters around me.
“It’s a temporary measure though.”
I think the reason why there hasn’t been any large-scale movement by monsters in the Lost Lands so far is probably because of the food chain between the monsters.
Ironically because North Korea collapsed without any significant resistance the food chain among the monsters was completed quite plausibly.
At least that’s what I heard from Minister Yoo Seon-ho and Team Leader Kim.
That’s why I had no intention of destroying that balance right away.
“You are indeed the Pope. I didn’t know you were thinking so deeply.”
“It’s the same for our church right? Recovering lost lands would be good but there are other things we need to take care of right now… something like that.”
For example things like the competition to secure divine players that will begin in earnest after this incident.
But the good thing is that I made sure to properly mark my eyes today.
Thousands of divine spears falling from the sky.
What other motivational video could there be for players looking to take up the Divine lineage as compelling as that?
anyway.
So while I was having a pleasant conversation with Minsu in the squadron commander’s office.
Knock knock.
Someone knocked on the door of the battalion commander’s office.
“Come in.”
Then Minister Yoo Seon-ho soon appeared.
As soon as he entered the battalion commander’s office Minister Yoo Seon-ho smiled gently and said.
“Have you been resting comfortably?”
“Thank you for your consideration I was able to rest well. Oh and what happened to the thing I asked you to do earlier?”
“We have issued two weeks of vacation to the helicopter pilots and have arranged for them to leave work immediately. They asked me to tell Siwoo that they are grateful.”
“I am truly grateful. If it weren’t for them….”
I hate to even imagine it.
I might have had to run around like a dog in this beautiful fall weather. And of course I wouldn’t have been able to take any pictures.
“Isn’t it this old man’s job to make sure that the new recruits are punished? Hehe.”
“Old man? It’s really awkward for the Minister to say something like that.”
“Are you going to gild this old man’s face? The hero who saved the Republic of Korea himself gilded it so I don’t know what to do with myself.”
“I just did what I had to do.”
“Humility is the greatest virtue.”
Minister Yoo Seon-ho sat in front of me with a kind smile.
And I looked at Minister Yoo Seon-ho and slightly raised the corners of my mouth.
The reason why Minsu and I stayed here even though the operation was successfully completed.
“Shall we start talking now?”
“Okay. The President has told me to try my best to accommodate Si-woo’s wishes so feel free to speak your mind.”
“This is really nice to hear. Haha!”
The time has finally come to have a real blast.
Our Pope please stop this
