Somebody Stop the Pope – 307
by Jessie@AFNCC
Episode 307
3.
There was still plenty of time left until the peace conference which could be considered the final stop on this Eden itinerary.
So I diligently went around here and there to investigate the relics placed all over the castle.
The first place we visited was the training grounds of the Knights Templar and the Warrior Priests who are responsible for the fighting power of the Vatican.
“There is no negotiation with the wicked. When we see the wicked what we must keep in mind is first and foremost power and secondly power. The wicked must be crushed by force. The more you work the more lives will be saved. This is the only request Pope Kim Si-woo has given you.”
“yes!”
“For Limen!”
“For Limen!”
It seems like they are training new recruits at the moment.
A scene where new recruits of the Temple Knights and the Battle Priests gather together to receive spiritual training.
I was very satisfied with the trend of mental education that emphasized strength.
“Faith and the power to preserve faith. That is the essence of the Templars.”
In Eden the Temple Knights and the Warrior Priests are collectively called the Templars.
If you think about it it seems like a pretty good expression.
I nodded contentedly and muttered and Archbishop Bayer smiled as if he heard me.
“There are still those in Eden who follow the Magi. And there are also heretics who hold strange beliefs.”
“Heretics?”
“They were originally followers of Limen but they accepted the god of the other world. Limen himself descended and gave them revelations.”
I have heard that the evil clutches of the Earth’s ancient gods reached Eden as well.
Our Limen sect does not originally reject other religions.
But those guys are the ones who have no choice but to be rejected.
Perhaps they were forced to leave after being brainwashed.
“They ended up being bad opponents too.”
“Yes. Since Lord Limen himself descended and gave a revelation all the holy warriors within the sect were mobilized to drive them out. It was an extremely unusual event even in the history of the sect.”
Eden was teeming with elite survivors from the long battle.

Even if the ancient gods extend their reach Eden is Limen’s home ground.
There was no way he could have won against the elite troops and the god Limen.
Well the goal of the ancient gods wasn’t to conquer the world in the first place.
Because it was to tie up Limen’s feet.
I glanced at Amur with a smile and asked in a quiet voice.
“If the same thing happened to you what would you choose?”
Isn’t that too difficult a question to ask an eight-year-old kid?
But the answer I got back was more than I expected.
“I will fight to protect it.”
“oh.”
It seems that our archbishops have taught the child very well.
I never thought that the words ‘I will fight’ would come out so naturally from a peace-loving mouth.
Is a bowl still a bowl?
If he continued to grow well like this I felt I could trust him with the future of our church.
I felt grateful and gently patted Amur’s back.
“That’s it. You have to be ready to fight at any time to protect it.”
“I will keep that in mind.”
“Patriarch Bayer and the other archbishops please pay attention. Even though he is the Pope he is not unrelated to the battle.”
The Pope is in a position where he can be threatened at any time.
I may not be able to think of it while I’m here but if I leave this place again I can threaten the church at any time.
The Pope must be strong to prepare for such a worst-case scenario.
Because I have to protect it.
Because we must protect all those who follow Limen from the threat of evil.
“Amur is dedicated to combat training for six hours every day.”
“What do you think your combat aptitude is like?”
“Excellent. Like Your Majesty he specializes in close combat.”
“That’s even better to hear. As the saying goes a head is best broken with a fist. Become a great fighter from now on Amur. Then you can beat up bad guys to your heart’s content even when you don’t have a weapon.”
It would be great if you could assign Leo as a personal tutor.
…When I have time I think it wouldn’t be a bad idea to just take him to Earth and have him study abroad.
But that is a problem for later.
How can inter-dimensional study abroad make sense when you can’t even find Limen?
“Grow up well.”
For an 8 year old he’s still a bit short.
But since he’s still growing he’ll probably grow taller.
I feel a mixture of joy and sorrow as I face my successor like this.
It was while I was slowly walking around the training grounds with Patriarch Amur Bayer.
“Your Holiness the Pope.”

Amur suddenly stopped and looked at me.
“huh?”
“I have something to offer to Your Holiness.”
“Is this a gift?”
“yes.”
It is human nature to accept gifts from children.
As I nodded Amur carefully took out a small stone from his bosom.
A stone that contains a very subtle amount of divine power.
“It’s a small stone I picked up the first day I arrived at the Vatican.”
“okay?”
“I saw you in my dream. You hugged me and thanked me for coming.”
What does that dream have to do with this stone?
I looked at the tiny stone with a smile.
A very common stone.
It was a common stone that seemed like it would hit you every time you walked down the street.
But Amur treated the stone with great care.
“The place where I saw Limen in my dream was the statue in front of the main building. So I ran there as soon as I woke up.”
“The Statue of Miracles.”
The faceless statue located in front of the main building is the largest of Limen’s statues.
Some people say that if you pray in front of the statue Limen will definitely grant your wish.
Suddenly I remembered something Limen had once said to me.
-Siwoo you know that? Those who prayed earnestly to me the fact that their dreams came true wasn’t all my doing. It was just their earnest wishes that changed their fates. Isn’t that amazing? That’s how earnest desires are. They change fates in ways that even God couldn’t predict.
Why does that word come to mind at this moment?
“This stone is the one I found in front of the statue.”
“That’s amazing.”
“Originally the priests would clean the area in front of the statue of the miracle every morning. But when I went there this stone was just sitting there. So to me this stone is a gift from Limen.”
It seems like a precious gift.
Just hearing those vivid words I could tell how much Amur had cherished this stone until now.
But at this moment Amur places his most precious stone in my hands.
“There is still not much I can give to Your Majesty. So I decided to give you what I cherish the most.”
“What gift could be more gratifying than the thing you cherish most? But Amur.”
“yes!”
“Why didn’t you give it to me yesterday and why are you giving it to me today?”
Amur answered my playful question by lowering his head.
“I also need time to decide…”
“I’m just kidding. Thank you very much.”
I held the stone gently.
I think this might be the best gift I’ve received since coming to Eden.
On the outside it’s just a stone that looks similar to a sacred stone….
…hmm?
That was when.
Woof woof woof woof.
As soon as the nameless stone touched my hand it began to make a strange resonating sound.
I felt waves of divine power through the hand holding the stone.
It’s a wavelength so strong and dark that it’s hard to believe it’s coming from a small stone.
And at the same time big changes began to take place inside my body.
“ah.”
Hururuk.
With the disappearance of Limen the pure white divine power of Limen that had disappeared from my body began to bloom from the tip of my right hand holding the stone.
I looked at the pure white torch I had encountered again and smiled brightly.
Clear evidence that Limen exists.
What more convincing evidence could there be than this?
“Patriarch Bayer.”
“yes.”
“Yes Your Majesty.”
“I must go back to the Statue of Miracles again.”
I have a strong intuition that if I approach the miracle statue in this state I might gain something.
I took them and headed straight to the statue of the miracle worker.
Why is that?
My heart was pounding.
4.
Arrived in front of the statue of the miracle god.
This huge statue I passed by in the morning too.
The statue whose face cannot be seen was also a statue symbolizing the Limen sect.
In front of it two knights stood guarding the statue.
The two of them bowed their heads and greeted me as soon as I appeared.
“Welcome Your Holiness!”
“Can you step aside for a moment?”
“yes!”
The knights lowered their guard and left without asking any questions.
I bowed my head slightly towards them and slowly approached the statue.
Behind me Patriarch Bayer and Amur stood silently and warm sunlight poured down from the sky.
I am no different from the believers who prayed earnestly in front of this place.
I have a very earnest wish right now.
I want to see Limen.
I want to feel that warm smile she used to give me and that hug she used to give me once again.
“Phew.”
I took a deep breath and stood right in front of the statue of the miracle god.
And then he slowly brought his hand to the statue.
I don’t know if it’s because of the sunlight but a warm feeling spreads to my fingertips.
Woohoo.
The pure white divine power that flowed out of my body took hold of the statue and soon the entire statue began to glow pure white.
“Oh Limen…..”
Patriarch Bayer who had been watching all of this from behind muttered quietly.
I focused all my senses on the statue.
The divine power that I was channeling was responding to the divine power.
“…show me.”
That assurance that proof that you still exist in this world and in mine.
I wish she would show me.
I will search for her until the end of my life.
It is my earnest wish.
No it’s the only hope I have left.
Even a small spark is fine. Then I will use that spark as a guide and follow her footsteps until the last moment of her life.
Woohoo.
A brighter light than ever before emanated from the body of the god.
The light resembled a lime.
Limen who brightens everything around and gives warmth to everything.
How much time has passed like that?
in the end….
“My Pope.”
I heard the voice I had been dreaming of.
“Limen?”
I called her again.
But this time even after waiting for a long time there was no answer.
I stood still with my hand on the statue.
There was no doubt.
It was Limen’s voice.
It seemed like it was only in my head but it was definitely Limen’s voice.
“…Limen.”
Perhaps it was a voice she had left here before she disappeared.
But this time I decided to interpret it the way I wanted.
“This is enough.”
I decided to consider it evidence that she exists.
I decided to lean into this earnestness.
As Limen said a fervent wish can even change destiny.
“I’ll find it.”
I made this promise to myself over and over again standing in front of the statue.
I vowed that I would soon go to my goddess who was waiting for me somewhere.
Our Pope please stop this
