Somebody Stop the Pope – 305
by Jessie@AFNCC
Episode 305
5.
“If I do one I’m wrong.”
“Your Holiness the Pope I am also the king of a country… and I fought against demons together with Your Holiness the Pope…”
“So I’m being considerate and doing it in your bedroom. Do you want to sleep forever? Just say the word and I’ll let you sleep forever. One.”
“I aaaaaaaah!”
“two.”
“I was wrong aaaaaaaaaa!”
This is the bedroom of the King of the Kingdom of Leon.
The banquet was still going on but I brought Haize straight to the bedroom.
Next to me Yuri was watching this scene with cold sweat dripping down her face.
It seems like the two were quite close.
Since they each created their own kingdoms did their relationship become estranged?
“glass.”
“Yes Your Majesty!”
“Do you have any advice for your friend?”
Yuri looked down at Haize with her arms crossed.
Haize who sits down and stands up repeatedly.
Of course while holding your own ears.
“If you had heard the news that His Majesty had returned you should have come running quickly. Has your intelligence deteriorated because you have become a king and have been living in luxury?”
“Yuri…you little brat…”
“Can I talk while being punished?”
“I’m so sorry!”
The Kingdom of Leon ruled by Haize is said to be the nation that has prospered the most rapidly in the past ten years.
It is the place closest to the ‘Land of Death’ where the final battle with the Demon Kings took place but ironically it is said that the largest number of magic stones are discovered in this area because of it.
This phenomenon is probably caused by the barriers created to suppress magic.

It is said that sacred stones are coming out in the area where the sacred barrier was located.
anyway.
They are making huge profits through bold land investments.
Besides in any era there are always guys out there looking to make a quick buck.
Adventurers for example.
It is said that adventurers who fly and fly to Eden willingly travel to the Land of the Dead to collect the relics and various artifacts of warriors who died in the battlefield.
The kingdom of Leon is also the one that reaps the most profits from this.
A land where opportunity and desire live and breathe.
All the wealth and power that the Kingdom of Leon possesses comes from there.
When I first heard that story from Yuri I thought it was very Haize-like.
Because originally this guy was full of ambition.
A thorough opportunist style who never misses an opportunity.
Besides he was quick at math so I thought he would do pretty well if he became king.
“Hey hey hey.”
“Yes yes Your Holiness!”
“You haven’t donated to our church in the past three years? But I heard that Yuri has been donating consistently.”
“that….”
Haize who can’t open his mouth easily.
It seemed like he was trying to come up with an excuse but how could he possibly think of one?
I nodded with a big smile.
“Well there’s no way you can make excuses. You didn’t come when I called you… So now you’re saying you’re going to go your separate ways with me. I heard you’ve been spreading bad rumors about our church lately?”
“That is really a misunderstanding!”
“They say that all rumors lead to the Kingdom of Leon.”
The Kingdom of Leon where trade is most prosperous.
So this is where the rumor originated.
At my suggestion Haize rolled his eyes and soon knelt down before me and shouted.
“I’m sorry. I think it was something I said during the meeting ‘The Pope has been away for so long shouldn’t we make policies assuming he’s not there?’”
“In the end it’s your mouth that’s the problem. So how do you plan on paying the price?”
“I will donate to the Limen Church immediately and provide the sacred stones mined in the kingdom for free!”
Paaaaak.
I said hitting the back of his head with all my might.
“That is something that our church should naturally receive.”
“Then….”
“From now on visit the Holy Land twice a year and pray to Limen. Do it yourself not through a proxy. And your descendants too.”
Kingdoms should not be fighting over vested interests from the beginning.
For at least the next 50 years the Limen Church must remain in control and focus on restoring the continent.
The fact that a country’s king visits the Holy Land twice a year is symbolic in itself.

I sat down on the chair and picked up a piece of fruit to eat.
It was a fruit that tasted similar to an orange.
“We will hold regular peace conferences under the leadership of the Patriarch of the Limen Church. It will be a conference where the kings of all the kingdoms on the continent and the leaders of different races will all gather in one place.”
Aftercare should always be thorough.
You might say it’s coercive but if you insist you have to build up your strength.
I had no intention of just sitting back and watching those guys grit their teeth while I was away.
“Yuri said… you said you wanted to establish an empire?”
“…That’s it.”
“If you have the ability try setting it up. It’s good for us. The middle managers are going to manage it for us right?”
This guy is full of ambition.
Suppressing everything causes more harm than good.
Still I can’t help but feel disappointed if he tells me not to do anything since he was once a man who stood on the battlefield with me.
“I think you’ve gotten the gist of it so I’ll stop punishing you.”
As soon as I said that Haize stood up from his seat exhaling deeply.
It’s still annoying but that’s only because of our different positions.
He only came forward as king to make this kingdom prosperous.
Are your arms bent inward?
Even though he looks like this he’s the guy who took a spear for me during battle.
I wonder where that cute little kid from back then went.
“Everyone please sit down first.”
At my words Yuri and Haize sat down on the chairs.
“Now that you are full-fledged kings it’s not nice to see me telling you what to do. It’s not nice to see the religious order interfering with the internal affairs of the kingdom is it?”
The history of the Earth proves it.
The struggle between religious authority and royal authority.
Eden has a political system that is almost similar to the Middle Ages on Earth.
I don’t want our church to control everything.
Greed is essential to restore and advance civilization.
I just wish these guys would keep the line.
“You guys do what you want without me having to interfere. I’m letting you off the hook this time because of old friendship. You guys know my personality right?”
“yes.”
“I’m sorry Your Holiness.”
“The next time I visit Eden and things are as they are now you will see that the kingdom has disappeared. I will destroy it all.”
Through this opportunity I realized that Eden also needs to be taken care of.
Once we return to Earth we will look for ways to make regular trips to Eden possible.
Either get Raphael’s help or find Limen and ask him.
I will try to take care of this world somehow.
So we finished the traffic control simply like that.
Nothing would scare these guys more than the thought of me stopping by periodically.
I got up from my seat with a snicker. Then I patted them on the back and said.
“I’m hungry.”
Then Haize stood up and said.
“I will order you to bring in some food.”
“Okay after I eat I’ll stop by the palace’s underground armory for a bit.”
“…Are you really taking all the Holy Relics? Without the Holy Relics Your Holiness you cannot control the Magi…”
“Who took them all? I was so angry earlier.”
“I’m sorry…”
“Don’t make me angry. I might actually take away all the holy relics.”
Before coming here I checked the list of relics stored in the armory of the Kingdom of Leon.
Among them there was one relic that I needed right now.
Traffic control is one thing but the reason I came here today is precisely because of the relics.
At my words Haize nodded with a disapproving expression.
“Relax your expression.”
“Hehehe when did I make such a bad expression again? I’ll bring in the food. Hey! Bring in the food. Quick!”
Even the Diamond Mountains look better after a meal.
Eden’s food wasn’t as good as Korean food but there were a lot of dishes that suited my taste.
I need to enjoy some Eden food after a long time.
6.
After a hearty meal I headed to the royal armory located in the basement of the palace with the two kings.
“As you can see I used a total of seven barriers to prevent theft. No one can enter here without the seal on my necklace.”
Heize added various explanations.
At the entrance to the armory there were knights who looked like they would fight quite well and inside there were seven layers of barriers.
Woohoo.
The magical power flowing from Haize’s necklace neutralized the barrier. Then a small entrance was revealed in the center of the barrier.
“Most of the equipment that adventurers retrieve from the Land of the Dead is purchased by our kingdom.”
“Even if you have a lot of money is that possible?”
“To enter the Land of the Dead through the Kingdom of Leon you must make a contract. That contract also includes a right of first refusal.”
“You’re good at it.”
“These are the relics of my comrades who fought together with me. I give them to their families when they come to visit.”
It is an action that can be called a good deed.
But it’s really disappointing to hear such words coming out of this guy’s mouth.
“Why doesn’t a guy like that donate?”
“…sorry.”
“Do you think I don’t know that you’re trying to take away the talented people among the bereaved families? You’re turning your head.”
I entered the barrier with a snicker.
And finally.
Woooooooooo-!
I was able to reach the sacred boundary that was shining brightly.
The innermost part of the armory.
Beyond this were the relics placed to suppress the magic of the Land of the Dead.
“I can’t enter here either.”
“Of course. It is a power granted only to the Patriarch.”
I took out the ring I had brought earlier from my pocket.
A beautiful ring carved from sacred stone.
As soon as I brought the ring to the sacred boundary it started to react.
Swish.
A small crack opened in part of the sacred barrier.
I led the kings and entered it.
“ah.”
Yuri who had been quiet until now let out a small exclamation.
It couldn’t be otherwise because the relics that were located beyond the barrier were a wonder to behold.
“I brought a lot.”
Starting with the <Final Barrier> which could practically be considered a set with the <Sword of Judgement> to weapons like the <Mortal Spear>.
The holy relics that appear in the Limen Church’s Bible are abundant everywhere.
All of these relics are ultimately placed here to protect the continent from magic.
I smiled as I slowly swept away the relics I hadn’t seen in a long time.
Even though ten years have passed since then not a speck of dust has formed on it.
This is the history of the Limen Church.
It was also evidence of how rough the fight against the demon lords was.
I walked forward slowly retracing all that history.
A glass case nestled among the weapons.
There was a small sculpture-like thing sitting on an altar carved from sacred stone.
“It was here after all.”
The real reason I came here.
Holy Relic <The Prophet’s Compass>.
A holy relic that helps one find one’s way gifted by Limen himself to his lost prophet.
The Bible says it was made for a prophet who was imprisoned in a labyrinth.
The reason I came to find this compass was not much different from that.
Because I got lost too.
I slowly approached the compass.
The compass began to resonate as if it sensed my approach.
Woohoo.
From my body flows a divine power that is entirely my own completely different from Limen’s divine power.
But in the end it seems that he sensed that the divine power was also a divine power derived from Limen.
The compass very slowly accepts my divine power.
I picked up the compass and looked at it.
Instead of the magnetic needle we are familiar with this compass had only a small arrow.
The expression ‘compass’ is just an idiomatic expression meaning something that helps you find your way.
In fact this is nothing more than a sign. A sign that shows you the way to go.
When I finally looked down at the needle.
“ah.”
I frowned and was at a loss for words.
The needle in the compass was pointing only to me.
Our Pope please stop this
