Somebody Stop the Pope – 291

Episode 291
95. To the Climax
1.
Was it about 15 minutes since the ‘meeting’ started?
I realized why Limen and Terra were holding my hands so tightly.
They didn’t catch me to protect me.
They held my hand
“For mortals who do not accept our order there is only death. If they do not accept us it is right to kill them and absorb their souls.”
“It is also important to create a new continent.”
“How about bringing in servants from other dimensions and creating a new ecosystem?”
“There are quite a few species that like human meat. In that sense it seems like it would be better to keep some of the humans alive.”
“Humans on Earth have lived as predators for a very long time. It would make for a very interesting picture.”
It was to stop me.
I gritted my teeth as I watched the guys talking nonsense in front of me.
There was no place for humans anywhere.
The guys were already discussing a new order as if they had taken over the Earth.
Arrogant statements about rebuilding the continent and taking care of the ecosystem.
Beings twisted by desire and driven out by that desire discuss the fate of the Earth.
“Be patient Siu. It’s not time yet.”
Terra whispered softly in my ear.
“Their souls are not yet complete. Even if we annihilate them here and now it is meaningless as long as there are fragments left. Haven’t you experienced it before? The Demon Lords.”
“I must endure for the sake of complete annihilation?”
“Yeah. Do you think I would want to leave those idiots alone? Those guys who are not even worth a single fist dare to encroach on my territory. I’m just as angry as you are.”
They were clearly evil.
Despite being a being of the same ‘status’ as me despite being disguised as a god.
They are such disgusting little bastards that it makes my throat vomit.

I slowly looked around at the deities gathered in this temple.
There was no one anywhere who surpassed Limen and Terra.
At best it seemed like only Pluto would be able to deal with Limen and Terra.
Yet the reason these two goddesses remained silent was simple.
These two want to completely destroy them all.
So perfectly that not even a spark is left behind.
“Kim Si-woo.”
During the meeting Pluto looked at me and spoke to me in a suggestive tone.
“On behalf of the gods of this place I would like to make a proposition to you. It is quite a plausible proposition so I ask that you consider it carefully.”
What the hell are you talking about?
I nodded slightly meaning that if you want to try go ahead and try. Then as if he had been waiting Pluto began to talk.
“Even though you are a subordinate god of the main god who governs another dimension if you can just break that bond you can become a complete god of Earth.”
“Are you telling me to throw away the lime?”
“If you will remain a god on Earth we will gladly provide for you. Each god is given a sanctuary where they can gather their followers. In honor of the heroic achievements you have made here we will grant you the entire area that humans call Northeast Asia as a sanctuary. Of course this includes Beijing.”
A similar repertoire to what the angel used to persuade my friends earlier.
Pluto came towards me and summoned a golden goblet and a clear glass bottle.
Tsk tsk.
He poured the golden liquid from the glass bottle into the glass.
A drink with a sweet smell.
“This is the drink that humans used to call nectar. If you drink this cup you can become a complete god of Earth. Your chance is now. If you want to protect those who follow you isn’t this a great opportunity?”
“season?”
“In your own sanctuary the order you pursue becomes the only order. To use the human expression… I guess you could call it autonomy.”
“As an autonomous region should I stand on your side?”
“We promise to protect you as long as you don’t interfere with our work.”
Pluto speaks as if it were a mercy bestowed by a conqueror.
In other words if I abandon Limen he will guarantee the safety of the rest.
But to summarize the meaning contained in those words simply it is as follows.
“Give up everything and come under us. Then I will guarantee you at least a minimum level of safety.”
“Yes. Don’t you value your people more than anyone else? Isn’t that enough to endure to protect your people? I think it saved your face a lot.”
“her.”
I chuckled and slightly let go of Terra’s hand.
Since Limen told me not to let go of his hand this is the only way.
With the left hand that had been holding Terra he picked up the ‘nectar’ that the guy had given him.
And he nodded looking down at the liquid in the glass.
“You’ll give me Northeast Asia?”
“It’s only a small part of the world we’ll create. Isn’t that exactly what you wanted?”
“A godlike bastard shouldn’t be so stupid.”

He lifted the glass and raised it above the guy’s head.
And then
Gulp.
I just poured the nectar over the guy’s head.
Golden liquid drips down the guy’s black hair.
It must have been an insulting moment but Pluto laughed out loud as if he found the situation amusing.
“Hahahahahaha! That’s how it should be.”
“Go to hell. Is there a hell for you?”
“The area on Earth that I managed was called Hell. Hell was meant for me from the beginning.”
“This guy is so narcissistic.”
I threw the glass I was holding to the side.
Then a new creature covered in black mucus and writhing around was hit by the glass.
【How dare you a lowly human being-.】
The nameless deity was about to get angry as it wriggled its slime but I lightly raised my stance and crushed it.
“There’s a buffet set up but I don’t want to just go. Can I eat a few before I go?”
Then Pluto shook his head.
“How about giving brothers who haven’t seen each other in a long time some time to get to know each other? So… I guess you’re thinking of rejecting my offer.”
“I made a promise with our goddess.”
“What a pity. Is it because you have only recently left the human world? You cannot see the big waves.”
I raised my middle finger at Pluto who sighed regretfully at me.
And he said it with a full-blown laugh.
“I am still human.”
“Who would believe that? You are already a god.”
“If that’s what I’m saying then so be it.”
No matter what anyone says I’m human. I’m just a bit of a weirdo among humans.
I’m joining hands with these guys to protect my people?
That’s just sacrificing my people as ornamental goldfish to these guys.
Only then did I realize why Terra and Limen had brought me here.
Just because the gods are gathered together doesn’t mean it’s impossible.
Rather it seemed that among those guys there were quite a few who could be eaten by me.
“Negotiations have broken down.”
“It’s a shame. If you had been on our side… we could have created a more perfect order.”
Pluto slowly shook his head and then spoke to the angels standing behind him.
“The guests are leaving. We will take them outside carefully.”
“Yes Father Death.”
The angels stopped before me and the two goddesses and bowed respectfully.
“I will take you outside.”
Before leaving I looked at Pluto and whispered softly.
“I’ll be right back so just wait a moment.”
“As much as you want. Let me enjoy the game. Your souls and those of your two nannies will be the best gifts for the new world.”
I will definitely come back here.
I thought that if I set fire to this place which was full of twisted divinity it would make a pretty good scene.
So I was kicked out of there.
2.
“You managed to come back alive? What a pity we were preparing to attack right away.”
The first person to welcome me back to the tent of the South Korean main force was Aiden who was drinking.
“Shouldn’t you have rested a bit?”
I said to Aiden as I plopped down on a chair inside the tent.
Then Aiden shook his head.
“I’ve already slept enough.”
“How many hours has it been since I broke up with you?”
“6 hours. The Purifier’s main force has also arrived near Beijing. They are said to be preparing for battle. Now look.”
Aiden grabbed one of the drones that was flying next to him and handed it to me.
Raphael’s drone.
Meanwhile it seems that Raphael produced a new drone and sent it out for reconnaissance.
Woohoo.
The holographic device built into the drone quickly begins to output images.
The video showed an army of Purifiers including the Demonic Demons.
“An army of superior demons and the dead.”
It seemed like the nameless guy was quite concerned as the most elite undead and demon tribes that were not easily found even in Eden were gathered in one place.
That army couldn’t be built overnight. That meant that the unknown guy had been hiding this huge army in the western region all this time.
“Raphael also provided simulation results assuming that the Purifier Main Force and the Republic of Korea Main Force would fight.”
“What was the result?”
“When comparing the power excluding the irregulars the main force of the Republic of Korea was completely defeated. They can be called a disaster. There is no doubt that the nameless bastard prepared for this situation a long time ago.”
Aiden’s strategic acumen is outstanding.
The experience and knowledge accumulated through numerous competitions could not be ignored.
But… it’s a terrible army at first glance.
Should we say that power comparisons are not very meaningful?
“It would be enough to invade the sanctuary.”
“What was the enemy’s main force like? Those gods you know?”
“Some of them are truly dangerous but not all of them are threatening.”
I decided not to take a chance after coming this far.
There was no way out anyway.
If those guys achieve their goal here that’s the end of it.
“It must be important to know what the goddesses are preparing… Have you heard anything about it?”
“no.”
“That’s right.”
Aiden emptied the bottle of liquor turning it into powder as he spoke.
“From here on out it’s really a matter of faith. There’s nothing I can do. I have no choice but to believe in the goddesses.”
“You said you were an atheist.”
“What can I do? There’s no other way.”
Terra and Limen seemed to have a corner of faith.
They must have been preparing for this situation for a very long time so there must be a way.
But an inexplicable sense of anxiety kept creeping up on me. All I could do was shake my head to shake it off.
Let’s think simply.
All I have to do is penetrate that sanctuary.
Terra brought me here and told me how to destroy the sanctuary.
-You just have to destroy all the shrines set up throughout the sanctuary. Easy right? It takes three Earth days for them to elect a new god. You have to destroy all the shrines within three days. Once all the shrines are destroyed Limen and I will take care of everything from then on.
We just have to make room for the goddesses.
Considering the strength of the sanctuary we saw earlier it seems difficult to even create that gap…
“When did we ever have a war that was advantageous?”
Still it is fortunate that the casualties from breaking through to this point were not great.
I took a deep breath and looked out over the perimeter of the sanctuary beyond the tent.
How much time has passed like that?
-Your Holiness.
Raphael’s voice rang in my ear and soon after a piece of news came in.
-The Purifiers have begun to invade the sanctuary.
There was news that the final battle had begun.
I said closing my eyes slightly.
“Let us move now.”
