Somebody Stop the Pope – 263

Episode 263
5.
“good.”
After putting out the fire at Saebit Church we returned to Seoul.
Unlike when I went down empty-handed when I returned there was a harvest.
“Our underground interrogation room is really popular these days. Isn’t that right Leo?”
“The best use of an interrogation room is when no one uses it. If there is a constant stream of guests that means there is a constant stream of bad guys.”
“That’s right.”
I sat down on the chair and twisted the corners of my mouth.
A total of four people were dragged into the interrogation room.
Jeon In-seok and two followers of Baek Myeong-gyo.
Finally the one who was just dragged back from prison.
“You’re definitely going to send me to prison…”
“I’ll give you a little advice and then send you back. I changed my mind.”
“I will answer honestly!”
Sungjun a drug dealer.
In this way the four people involved in this incident gathered in one place.
Seongjun pointed at Jeon Inseok with a more enthusiastic expression than ever.
“I am the one who repented! I bought the most medicine!”
“Really? And the two next to you?”
“Well the two next to me are faces I’m seeing for the first time.”
The mud fight has begun.
Jeon In-seok who had been quietly listening to Seong-jun’s accusation pointed to two followers of Baek Myeong-gyo and said as if he would not give in.
“Those two are Deacon Kim and Deacon Lee. They were devout believers at our church so why are they here….”
“They are spies planted in your church by the Baekmyeong Church.”
“…yes?”

“You didn’t even know that? You pathetic little punk.”
“Kekekekeke.”
Phew.
Luna who was standing next to Jeon In-seok stuck her foot into the guy’s stomach and Jeon In-seok flew into the wall while spitting out blood.
“I don’t think you could expect to be treated like a gentleman after giving drugs to a child.”
Luna’s voice was laced with anger.
At best the demonstration’s act of administering drugs to children of the same age is an unforgivable sin.
“You were the ones who set fire to the church… and you two still have no intention of answering?”
I slowly approached the believers of Baekmyeonggyo.
They weren’t much different from the others here because Luna and Leo had definitely instilled fear in them.
First of all the goddess Jeon In-seok called her ‘Butler Kim’.
She opened her mouth with a trembling voice.
“I will answer as honestly as possible.”
“Yes that’s exactly the position. You two are from Baekmyeonggyo right?”
“…yes.”
Good Cop Bad Cop is always an effective method.
I don’t know how much Luna had suffered but when I asked her gently she opened her mouth easily.
“What is your main mission?”
“It was my role to monitor whether repentance was being administered well within the church. I also conducted research on the effects it had on children.”
“You dare betray the will of the great ones! You will not be saved. You will wither and die at the end of the void… Keuuuuuuuu!”
Another Baekmyeonggyo believer who had been quietly listening to her story next to her shouted desperately.
I grimaced as I punched the man in the stomach.
“Shut up.”
“Yes inoooooooooooo!”
Wood crunch.
It was so loud that I grabbed my chin and crushed it. Then I lit a torch and burned my vocal cords.
“I’ll ask you separately later so wait your turn. I want you to show some mature civic culture. Leo?”
“Yes Your Majesty.”
“Take him out into the hallway. We’ll interrogate him separately later.”
Leo nodded and dragged the rebellious boy down the hallway.
I watched that scene until the end then turned my gaze back to ‘Butler Kim’. And smiled slightly.
“I don’t treat cooperative people rudely. You get the general idea of my style right?”
“Yes yes.”
“very good.”
Our church’s interrogation techniques are by far the best in the world.
You can’t die at will.
If you accidentally get seriously injured during an interrogation just heal them with your divine power and proceed with the interrogation.

If you are being interrogated by our church you cannot even die at will.
Until we get the information we want.
The interrogation continues endlessly.
“If you change your mind during the interrogation please tell me. For example you suddenly don’t want to open your mouth or you want to stay in Baekmyeonggyo until the end. Things like that.”
“No no. I will answer honestly… honestly.”
“I learned a lot from Luna. You worked hard Luna.”
“It’s my specialty.”
What on earth happened on the way up to Seoul?
This woman was really into it.
I dragged Jeon In-seok back from where he was pinned against the wall and threw him on the floor.
And he looked around at the three and said:
“Let’s check each other’s information. Let’s do a quick cross-check and if someone seems to be wrong… You guys know better right?”
From now on no lies can be told here.
I sat comfortably in my chair and nodded contentedly.
“Come on Luna.”
“Yes Your Majesty.”
“Let the game begin.”
“yes.”
The truth game has begun.
The only price for lying here is death.
And so the lengthy interrogation began.
6.
“It’s bigger than I thought.”
The interrogation lasted all night.
The ‘repentance’ that Baekmyeonggyo is spreading has spread to many more places than I had thought.
“Not only the church members but also the students and the general public… You just did a proper job.”
It’s hard to believe that this was accomplished in such a short period of time.
Repentance was already spreading throughout all walks of life.
“At first it seems to increase the faith of the believers but in the end that faith turns towards the ancient gods… It’s definitely a pseudo-drug.”
Eventually they infiltrate religious facilities and recruit all of the believers there into their cult.
This was the effect these guys were aiming for with ‘repentance’.
“We immediately dispatched troops to the religious facilities secured through testimony.”
Leo continued his report to me with a blunt expression.
“The Ability Management Department is also taking this matter seriously. The Special Investigation Bureau under the Ability Management Department will conduct a full-scale investigation.”
“We must uncover all the charges against the Baekmyeonggyo bastards. We must drive them to the edge of the cliff.”
After a major scandal with the political world not long ago Baek Myeong-gyo was beaten to his death without even coming to his senses.
Not only is there an investigation by the prosecution and police but there is also criticism from the public opinion media.
It was only in an instant that the Baekmyeong Church which was called the rival of the Limen Church collapsed.
“Did I tell you briefly that this church arson incident was the work of Baekmyeonggyo?”
“I have reported this to Sejong Ilbo.”
“You do it well even without being asked to do it now.”
“It’s all thanks to Your Majesty’s teachings. Thank you.”
We definitely had the momentum in the public opinion war.
Public opinion criticizing the Limen Church has already disappeared.
All Koreans joined forces to begin criticizing Baekmyeonggyo.
Moreover the official press conference held by the Department of Ability Management this morning only added fuel to the fire.
<Director Kim Dong-sik the temporary spokesperson for the Department of Ability Management declares all-out war on the new drug ‘Repentance’!>
<What is the new drug ‘Repentance’?>
<Some experts suggest a connection between ‘repentance’ and ‘Baekmyeonggyo’!>
The media that defended Baekmyeonggyo are now at the forefront of criticizing Baekmyeonggyo as if they had always done so.
As if he were trying to pay the price for his sins he created public opinion criticizing him more fiercely than anyone else.
I sat in my chair in my office and watched TV.
TV continued to report on criminal activities related to the Yeonshin Baekmyeong Church.
At this point Baekmyeonggyo should come up with some kind of response but they are silent.
Until it entered South Korea it seemed as if it would swallow up the entire country.
…Why?
“It seems like Baekmyeonggyo has given up on everything.”
“i think so too.”
There is no response.
It looks like he’s just accepting this situation.
If you were going to be pushed out so easily why on earth did you come back to South Korea?
I thought about that part carefully.
This seems like a bait thrown out to buy time…
“…That was it.”
To anchor our church’s capabilities in the Republic of Korea.
After our church made it impossible for them to look elsewhere they proceeded with their plans elsewhere.
“derangement.”
The guys didn’t come here to drive out the Limen sect from South Korea.
Rather they came here to force us into South Korea.
So what on earth were they planning to do after they brought us here?
“Leo.”
“Yes Your Majesty.”
“The number of our informants planted in northern China is….”
“His Majesty has told us to prioritize South Korea so we have left only the bare minimum of personnel. Most of the Inquisitors are currently active in South Korea.”
“I think we misjudged.”
Baek Myeong-gyo’s re-entry into South Korea is merely a delaying measure.
A delaying tactic to divert our attention as much as possible and then proceed with their plans.
“Send the Inquisitors to northern China right now. And send a request for cooperation to the South Korean government and the United States government. Find out what is happening in northern China as quickly as possible.”
If the Baekmyeonggyo guys were up to something it had to be in northern China.
Leo who heard my order bowed his head slightly and immediately went out of the office.
“These Baekmyeonggyo bastards.”
What on earth are you doing turning a blind eye to us?
7.
The basement of a building located in Sinuiju.
A blonde-haired girl sat quietly in the middle of a basement room bathed in dim green light.
“Archdiocese Bishop Limen’s church is once again concentrating its intelligence forces on northern China.”
“It’s a bit faster than I expected. But that’s okay. Even if they come and move now it won’t change much.”
The girl slowly got up.
“How much has repentance been distributed?”
“It has spread widely centering on various religious facilities such as pioneer churches located in local areas. The South Korean government is currently conducting a comprehensive investigation.”
“A full investigation… Is there any way to delay it?”
“As of now there are none. All those who have received various benefits from us are being investigated.”
“Well Pope Kim Si-woo has put in a lot of effort.”
The girl nodded slightly as if she felt regret at her subordinate’s words.
And then he said as he walked forward slowly.
“It’s unfortunate but there’s nothing we can do about it. Please prepare a gift to send to Pope Kim Si-woo.”
“Are you talking about fanaticism?”
Another blessing that can be bestowed upon those who have taken repentance is fanaticism.
Under the command of Baekmyeonggyo they become fanatics and spread the name of the ancient god far and wide.
There will be armed conflict along the way but a new order is born from destruction.
In this way those who take repentance will be able to participate in the great cause of Baekmyeonggyo so it will be a blessing to them as well.
“Yes. The repentance is less circulated than expected but I think it will be enough to set South Korea on fire.”
The archbishop smiled gently.
The subordinate faced with her smile bowed and answered.
“I will obey your orders.”
A subordinate with his head bowed.
The archbishop spoke softly stroking his head gently.
“The day is near when a new order will come to this land.”
Our Pope please stop this
