Somebody Stop the Pope – 235

Episode 235
3.
Aiden arrived in Shanghai.
“How have you been my beloved comrades?”
This is Hongqiao International Airport.
Aiden arrived in China via an American transport plane.
It was quite an awkward sight to see an American plane flying over Chinese soil but Aiden’s outfit walking out of it was also quite awkward.
A savage wearing a black martial arts uniform who looks like he came out of a Chinese martial arts movie.
The Dobok is so tight that the muscles underneath it are like armor.
It was also certain that the person lying on the bed in the Seoul Shinjeon was a patient cosplay.
Look at those confident strides.
It was hard to believe that this was a guy who had his foot cut off just a few days ago.
“Did you really cut off your foot? It looks so fresh.”
Luna whispered quietly in my ear and I nodded.
“When have you ever seen that guy use any common sense?”
“That’s true. In that sense you are truly a friend of His Holiness.”
“Aren’t we friends?”
“Koreans always say that about their best friends.”
Luna this guy is now practically thinking as a Korean.
I frowned slightly.
And I approached the guy with my colleagues.
The first person Aiden recognized was Raphael.
“How are you Raphael?”
“Aiden you’ve aged quite a bit since I last saw you.”
“Raphael you have thinning hair. Is it impossible to overcome hair loss even with advanced technology?”
“I’m glad to see your tongue is still intact.”

The two exchange pleasant words.
Aiden finished his brief greeting with Raphael and then looked straight at Isemin.
Then he suddenly extended his hand and said.
“Are you Li Shimin the number one person in China? The pronunciation is really difficult.”
Lee Se-min lightly wiped his hands on the pants he was wearing. Then he took the hand Aiden offered him.
“Nice to meet you Aiden.”
Aiden raised the corners of his mouth and his eyes lit up fiercely.
The eyes of a beast before its prey.
If it was an ordinary person it would have been enough to make them faint but Lee Se-min easily ignores Aiden’s presence.
Aiden looked at Isemin with interest.
Aiden’s senses would be able to roughly estimate Lee Se-min’s strength.
A tense situation on the brink of collapse.
But it was none other than Aiden who broke the tension.
“Is this our first meeting?”
A random question.
At Aiden’s question Lee Se-min smiled meaningfully and shrugged his shoulders.
“I don’t know.”
Neither positive nor negative.
That means yes in most cases.
Have you two ever met?
Aiden laughed out loud as if he found it amusing. Then he spoke in a satisfied voice.
“When you have time let’s shake hands. You can’t just pass by a strong person right?”
“Stop bothering married men and play alone.”
“That’s too bad Siwoo. I’m married too.”
“So you’re still married?”
Aiden looked solemn at my words. Then he patted his chest with his hand and said
“I have buried my wife in my heart. We will be together forever.”
…When you say it like that it really makes me sound like I’m a total bad guy.
Anyway that’s how Aiden and my colleagues met and we started moving together right away.
There was no time to even throw a welcome party.
Because this morning Mr. Lee Eun-taek asked me for some very useful intelligence.
It is said that the Purifier’s stronghold has been discovered near Shanghai.
Even at this very moment the secret interrogation of the heretics was being conducted underground in the Holy Land and even Leo acknowledged the interrogation skills of Mr. Lee Eun-taek.
Mr. Lee Eun-taek wanted to conduct the investigation himself but our line rejected his request.
It’s true that he’s getting stronger at a rapid pace but he’s not an executive yet.
I’m sure we’ll get there someday but for now I’d like you to just focus on gathering information.
“There are five key strongholds identified. The closest key stronghold is Nanjing. Starting today we will begin to open the way in earnest.”

Shanghai has entered a stable zone.
We had to expand our influence while leaving behind the bare minimum number of people needed for recovery operations.
Our role is to pave the way as an advance guard.
I Raphael Aiden Lee Se-min Leo and Luna Choi Dae-pyo.
The plan was to divide it into five groups and push through it all at once.
The key to this operation is to not even allow the enemy a moment to catch their breath.
So we didn’t even give it a separate operation name.
Just a ‘sweep’.
“If you find any survivors while clearing the path immediately request troops from headquarters. Gathering the survivors is also a major part of this operation. Anyone have any questions?”
Then CEO Choi raises his hand.
President Choi looked at me and asked.
“We will mobilize our own troops. I think three of us is a bit tight.”
“Permitted. Bring plenty of troops and mercenaries from the Limen Church.”
Our church’s troops were sharper than ever.
After losing two colleagues I guess you could say that this is a really motivating situation?
Currently Tobi has come to Shanghai Holy Land himself to repair the equipment.
“The Chinese government is also moving south to Nanjing with the Baek Myeong-gyo. Our location is closer.”
Then Aiden nodded.
“It feels like we’re playing football. We just have to score a touchdown first.”
“yes.”
“Two American atomic bombs one Korean and one Chinese. If we’re not careful the entire continent could be wiped out.”
“I can also assign separate troops to irregulars so if you need them please let me know.”
To my words neither Isemin Raphael Aiden nor anyone else answered.
Yes it’s a burden to give troops to people who are no different from a one-man army.
Operation code: ‘Sweep’.
The furious march towards Nanjing began.
4.
A place not too far from Shanghai.
The Purifier’s underground altar located beneath the ruins of a building.
“Captain when are you going to deal with those bastards?”
“Wait. There hasn’t been any instructions from above yet.”
“Isn’t Shanghai already scorched earth? The higher-ups have already abandoned us so let’s just clean up this place and leave. If we go to Southeast Asia there’s still a lot to exploit.”
Wang Gang the altar manager of Hangzhou bit his lip and looked at his subordinate.
It has been a long time since we lost contact with the altars located in Shanghai.
Shanghai was originally the headquarters of the Purifier.
But now the place has completely fallen into the hands of the Limen Church.
Wang Gang simply could not understand his superior’s judgment.
If we had concentrated all our power on Shanghai while the Limen Sect was staying in the city we could have dealt a great blow to the Limen Sect.
But why did the superiors attack Beijing instead of Shanghai?
“Captain we are running out of magic power. In this case wouldn’t it be better for us to just absorb those sacrifices?”
“And what if the higher-ups find out?”
“We haven’t heard from you for two weeks. You’ve abandoned us.”
His subordinate Luo Yichen who had been his right-hand man since the days of the organized crime syndicate tried to suppress his irritation and appealed to him.
But Wang Gang couldn’t make a decision easily.
Wang Gang and his organization which was nothing more than a neighborhood crime syndicate in broad daylight grew to the point where they took over an entire region in just one year thanks to the support of the Purifier.
What I do hasn’t changed either.
Illegal activity.
Kidnapping people or distributing drugs.
His organization members who failed to become Awakened were able to become Awakened thanks to the ‘medicine’ given by the Purifier and thanks to that they were able to become the nightmare of this area.
There was also relatively little interference from above.
All they wanted was to continuously capture humans and offer them on the altar.
“If Kim Si-woo comes here… we’re all dead Captain.”
“That filthy little brat has nothing better to do so why come here? He must be busy devouring Shanghai. Shut up and keep in touch with your superiors.”
Wang Gang lowered his voice to his subordinate.
Running away from the Purifier?
That’s because he doesn’t know them well.
Wang Kang knew that the moment he ran away from here they would chase him until he died.
-Priests are allowed to have pleasures that are like illusions but they are also given responsibilities that go with them. Always keep that in mind Wang Kang.
Wang Kang thought of the owner of the purifier he had met some time ago.
A man with skin whiter than snow.
The man personally administered the baptism of magic to Wang Gang and his organization members.
Will they be able to escape from this man who doesn’t even seem human?
Moreover there were monsters called Demon Kings by his side.
What if one of those monsters is dispatched?
They simply could not resist.
“Are you able to contact the other altars?”
Wang Gang asked his subordinates in a calm voice.
It was impossible to escape.
From the moment they accepted Magi their fate was tied to a group called the Purifiers.
All the pleasures they have ever enjoyed.
Maybe you’re getting a receipt for that pleasure right now.
“I can’t reach you.”
“All communications are cut off.”
“It looks like something is interfering with our communications network.”
The crystal ball connected to the other altar was in a state of silence.
Wang Gang frowned and bit his nails.
There are few beings that can block communication through magic.
‘Has Kim Si-woo really advanced to this area?’
A monster that instantly clears up Shanghai.
Hangzhou and Shanghai where he is located are not cities that far apart.
It was a distance that was enough to enter Kim Si-woo’s area of activity.
‘Running away is impossible… but if you make it seem like you’re going to fight and run away I’ll still have something to say.’
If there is no contact from the higher-ups there is one possible scenario.
The leadership has given up on Hangzhou.
In this situation it would have been wise to just pretend to fight back and then leave.
The instinct that had helped Wang Gang survive on the mean streets for so many years was whispering to him.
“good.”
Finally he made up his mind and asked his subordinates.
“How many sacrifices are left in total?”
“If you include the camps outside the number exceeds one hundred thousand. There was an epidemic going on so quite a few people died.”
“Contact us right now. We will offer the remaining offerings to the altar. Then we will absorb the magic energy flowing out of the altar and get out of Hangzhou as quickly as possible.”
<Altar> has the power to change <offerings> into magic.
Since support from above was cut off it was up to each person to fend for themselves.
At Wang Gang’s instructions his subordinates all bowed their heads and immediately contacted the camp.
But after a while.
“Captain.”
“why?”
“All contact with the camps has been lost.”
“…what?”
The camp was located directly above the altar that is on the ground.
Since the communication was connected by wire there was no way that contact could be lost unless the line was cut.
“The line isn’t broken?”
“No. The signal is going…”
“Aren’t these kids doing something else? Send someone down to the sacrifices right now-.”
That was when.
Kwaaaaaaaaaaahh …
Wang Kang could not help but open his eyes wide as he watched the events unfolding in an instant before him.
This was an altar installed at least 300 meters underground.
“Ha ×bal. You dug deep too. You mole bastards.”
But what on earth is that man who broke through the ceiling and entered in one go?
It wasn’t just an appearance.
The man lightly snaps his fingers and sets everything in his path on fire.
“Kkaaaah!”
“Ugh… Ughhhh!”
The flames that rise from the man’s hand begin to burn Wang Kang’s men alive.
Wang Kang could immediately realize who the man was.
“Kim Si-woo…..”
Black priest’s vestments.
White flames.
All of these things proved that the man was Kim Si-woo.
Kim Si-woo approached Wang Kang with a smile.
“I guess you’re the priest here. But since you’re a priest you probably know more than the guys outside.”
Whoosh whoosh!
Flames also rose from under Wang Gang’s feet. And in an instant the flames engulfed Wang Gang.
“Kuaaaaaaaaaah!”
Wang Kang could only scream in agony as his flesh and bones burned all over his body.
Kim Si-woo arrived right in front of Wang Kang.
And soon he grabbed Wang Kang by the collar and lifted him up his whole body on fire.
“Since you’re a villain anyway I can just kill you and look into your memories. But I don’t really want to look at those dirty memories. So I’ll give you a choice.”
“Please…speak…speak.”
“Either you burn like this for a long time and die or you tell me everything you know and be free from the pain. It’s one of the two. If you cooperate I won’t hurt you anymore. I promise.”
Kim Si-woo said with a bitter laugh.
Our Pope please stop this
