    Episode 216

    70. The true educator of this era

    1.

The guy introduced himself as David.

Still he must have been a bit of a brat because he stood in front of me with a confident expression even though I called him.

    “It’s up!”

At best a high school student.

A sturdy body and firm eyes.

There was a look of leisure on his face that was succinctly described as ‘unlucky’.

I looked at David’s confident face and smiled.

The magical power reserves are also considerable.

Moreover the calluses on his palms that were briefly visible indicate that he has practiced a tremendous amount.

There was no doubt that he was a promising prospect that the United States was paying attention to.

    USA.

It is also one of the friendly countries with which our church has a very good relationship and its alliance with the Republic of Korea is stronger than ever.

That’s why I also lightly scold the promising prospects of our allies and move on… my ass.

    “Did you say David?”

    “Yes! Pope Kim Si-woo.”

“What did Aiden say about me?”

Then David answered in a voice that was very excited.

“You said he was a strong man but without mercy!”

    “and?”

    “and….”

“Didn’t you tell me that you hate people who openly sell their connections?”

I really hate people who try to avoid a situation by selling out their acquaintances before even exchanging greetings.

These are the kind of guys that are like this.

Since this is South Korea’s first international event since the Dimension Opening I tried to pass it off as amicably as possible… but they started fighting from the start?

And just as I was about to say something he even sold Aiden’s name.

These were all things that got on my nerves.

I smiled brightly at David and he smiled back brightly.

    “Get down.”

    “…yes?”

“Below the surface and put your head down.”

David is confused by my sudden order.

But he still seemed to have some sense as he immediately laid down on the floor with his head down.

    Was that sight funny?

    “Phew.”

    “Pfft.”

The British Awakened men who had been waging a war of nerves with this guy just a moment ago burst into laughter.

I also pointed my finger at those British brats.

“The two kids who just laughed. Come out.”

Then two men and women quickly came up on stage.

The guys followed David’s head with considerable speed.

Is it because they are all promising prospects from each country?

You know how to do it without me having to tell you.

If you had come up here and been waiting I would have really shown you the bitter taste.

“You three will keep your heads down until my lecture is over. Understood?”

    “yes!”

    “Yes!”

    “All right!”

“And David especially let’s meet up after class.”

When I called Aiden he responded with “We’re not that close right?”

That day is that guy’s memorial day.

I gritted my teeth at the three of them and quickly relaxed my expression.

And then he looked ahead with a more radiant expression than ever before.

Our prospects have become much more docile than when we first came here.

Their free-spirited attitudes had long since disappeared and they were all sitting in their chairs with the correct posture looking at me.

So huh? Example is really important.

“Hello everyone. Let me formally introduce myself. I am Kim Si-woo an Irregular from South Korea and the Pope of the Limen Church.”

They didn’t respond at all even though I said the first words in a cheerful tone.

The atmosphere feels like a portrait studio.

I said smiling again at the prospects who were watching me with nervous expressions.

“You guys don’t have hands? You don’t clap?”

I tried to joke around to relieve some of the tension but the reaction was completely different from what I expected.

    Clap clap clap-.

    Clap clap.

Nearly 400 people stood up at the same time and began to applaud thunderously.

Everyone claps their hands with an earnest expression.

Perhaps because they were awakened people the applause was incredibly loud.

I nodded in satisfaction as I enjoyed the applause that filled this large auditorium.

And he lightly raised his right hand toward the hopefuls who were about to clap their hands until they were tired.

    “stop.”

Then the auditorium suddenly becomes quiet.

    “Now everyone please sit comfortably.”

The prospects all sat down and began to watch me with more glaring eyes than ever before.

Seeing the students’ enthusiasm so strong I think it was a good decision to come as a special lecturer.

By the way what topic should I give a special lecture on today so that people will say I did a good job?

But the South Korean government trusted me and entrusted me with the task so I have to finish this special lecture well so they can entrust me with another special lecture next time.

“The story I’m going to tell you today is not something grand or special.”

I am not a professional instructor.

So I have to tell the story I am most confident in the story that contains my own experiences.

“I would like to tell you today about what kind of days I spent in Eden.”

What kind of life have I lived?

And how did he survive and return to Earth?

I think I’ll tell that story to these promising guys.

The current Earth is not much different from Eden.

It was as dangerous as Eden and perhaps even more dangerous than Eden.

From demon lords to gods of the other world.

In this situation there is only one thing I can do for these prospects.

“Have you ever held the corpse of a comrade in your arms?”

My special lecture began with words that made us face the cold reality.

    2.

The atmosphere of the special lecture that followed was extremely satisfying.

Contrary to my fears the prospects paid attention to what I had to say.

Although they all spoke different languages I was able to convey my message to them all through the ‘blessing of language.’

Other lecturers would have used an interpreter but my lecture did not require an interpreter.

Perhaps that’s why more promising players could focus on it.

I told them a lot of stories.

What I felt while living in the midst of war for nearly ten years.

And what were your thoughts as you held on?

This special lecture was also meaningful to me.

Because telling my story to the promising young people allowed me to look back on my memories from Eden.

I’ve lost so many precious things.

And we saved far more than we lost.

What if I had been so lost that I couldn’t move forward?

I probably wouldn’t have returned to Earth.

I rambled on and on about my story for about an hour.

It was quite a relief for the prospects.

Thank you for listening to my story with interest until the end even though it might have been boring.

“I’ll stop here for now. Before I came here I thought I’d give a special lecture for exactly two hours. I’ll spend the rest of the time taking questions. Does anyone need a break?”

There wasn’t a single promising prospect who raised his hand at that remark.

It’s a good time for everyone.

    You have really good concentration.

I nodded and said with a smile.

“Then let’s get straight to the questions.”

Then promising prospects from all over started raising their hands and I pointed out the first one who raised his hand.

“There’s a Japanese school girl there.”

When I pointed at her the female student jumped up from her seat.

Leo who was next to me quickly approached the female student and handed her the microphone and soon a nervous voice echoed throughout the auditorium.

“My name is Natsuki from Japan. I have a question for Pope Kim Si-woo.”

    “Make yourself comfortable.”

“You said that in Eden you fought to return to Earth so what are you fighting for on Earth?”

I thought there would be a lot of questions about how to become stronger but it was quite unexpected.

    What are you fighting for?

In fact the answer to this question was already decided.

“I fight to protect my people.”

That’s the only reason I fight.

    Rise to power.

I wasn’t interested in this kind of thing from the beginning.

I’m just fighting to protect the people who believe in me.

In response to my firm answer a female student named Natsuki cautiously continued asking questions.

“When you say my people do you mean my family and friends?”

    “no.”

    “then….”

“I fight not only for my family and friends but also for everyone who believes in me.”

That’s what ‘my people’ are to me.

    People who believe in me.

I just want to protect all those people.

The girl blushed at my answer and asked.

“If I believe in Pope Kim Si-woo… will he protect me too?”

    “Of course.”

    “Thank you very much!”

…I guess you came here more as a fan of mine than as a promising prospect?

I looked at the girl whose face was so red it looked like it was going to burst then scratched my chin with my finger.

Since then countless questions have arisen.

How to become stronger how to win battles etc.

The expected questions kept pouring in and I answered them as honestly as I could.

It was a meaningful time after a long time.

    3.

My special lecture ended in two hours.

I was worried about what to do if the promising candidates didn’t respond but considering the questions that poured in at the last minute it seems like it was a needless worry.

I would have liked to answer all your questions but unfortunately time did not permit it.

Instead I promised to invite those prospects to our church’s training center later and give them a tour.

“Your Majesty. But the reason you didn’t say you would allow a paid tour is….”

    “That’s the adults’ job now.”

    “…ah.”

“What would the Vatican think if we gave them a free tour without charging them? We shouldn’t upset our loyal customers.”

“I am receiving teachings like this again. Thank you Your Majesty.”

After finishing the special lecture I went out with Leo.

And then there are three people who follow us while lying face down.

It was the three of them including David who were lying down before the lecture started.

“My time is up so I can stand up now.”

The three of them stood up as soon as I spoke.

I said looking at the two British prospects among the three.

“You guys go back into the auditorium. From now on I want you to stop laughing at other people’s misfortunes.”

    “thank you!”

“I will keep that in mind!”

The two of them ran into the auditorium without looking back and David ended up being left in front of Leo and me.

    David is sweating profusely.

I asked David in a subtle way.

“Do you know what you did wrong?”

Then David answered as if he had been waiting.

“I will not sell other people’s names carelessly!”

“Of course you should. That’s the worst thing you can do. If you do something wrong you’ll also be tarnishing that person’s name.”

    “sorry!”

“Just wait. I need to hear my friend’s voice for the first time in a while.”

    “yes?”

“You should ask Aiden. If you don’t get along with Aiden… you know? You’ll get a heavier punishment.”

I picked up the phone and called Aiden.

After a brief connection tone Aiden’s voice was soon heard on the other end of the phone.

-Siwoo. What’s going on? I’m done with the phone call.

“Oh I gave a special lecture today and I heard there was a promising prospect here who was close to you. David. You know him?”

-David? You’re a cute kid. Did David do anything rude to you?

“It’s not rude but before I started lecturing you were fighting with some promising British players. So when I tried to give you a word you sold your name.”

    -ha ha ha!

Aiden on the other end of the phone laughed loudly at my words.

Aiden laughed for a long time and then said in a playful voice.

-That’s just how it is with Aesong. Siwoo. I wish you would give him a good scolding on my behalf. But he’s still a guy I like quite a bit. He has guts when he fights.

“Oh really? Can I scold you?”

-Of course. I’ll buy you a drink of expensive alcohol in exchange for teaching Aesongi instead of me.

    “I’m fine.”

-Let’s have a long talk later. I’m choking a terrorist right now.

“Oh okay. Thanks for your hard work.”

After the call ended I put my phone in my pocket and smiled brightly at David.

    “Did you hear that?”

    “…Ahhhhhhh.”

    David’s face turned pale.

    Cute guy.

    How do you cook this?

    Our Pope please stop this
