Episode 210
68. Someone’s lucky day
1.
A used car sales complex in Incheon.
Woo Tae-sik was in a really good mood today.
Because we had quite a lot of results the day before.
“I heard Taesik caught quite a lot yesterday?”
As usual his fellow dealers greeted him warmly when he arrived at the office.
“Yes bro. I caught a few good ones yesterday. Two old men an old lady and a Metube editor I think? Four of them.”
“To the grandparents again? You vicious bastard.”
“Aren’t you the one who taught me that money is the best?”
“Hey if this keeps up isn’t the CEO going to take more care of you than me? Buy me a drink after work today. By the way why did you come to work so early today?”
Woo Tae-sik answered the dealer’s question with a sly smile.
“You know that YouTube editor I just mentioned? I think that idiot came looking for his brother saying he wanted to buy him a car too.”
“Now you’re even taking out your family? Look at this damn bastard.”
“You can’t take away the good fortune that has rolled in. I did have a good time yesterday.”
Woo Tae-sik thought that he had been really lucky since yesterday.
There were many times when I couldn’t get a single contract but since yesterday customers have been flocking in.
Sales is all about timing.
You have to row when the water comes in.
This business almost disappeared into the back alley because of the used car education YouTubers but when things are going well there is no better job than this.
Even if the world changes there are still plenty of people who are ignorant.
People who are lured by low prices are surprisingly easy to fall for sweet talk.
“That’s right Taeshik. Aren’t you that one?”
“What?”
“I heard that these days C-class hunters are really good. They want to show off so they want to drive foreign cars but they still feel hesitant about buying a new car. There are a lot of them who are ignorant of the ways of the world so they’re surprisingly easy to catch.”

C-class hunter.
Hunters who are essential but cannot be used in large raids.
Woo Tae-sik quickly stored his colleague’s information in his head.
This is advice from someone who has always been my mentor. After listening to the story it certainly seems like C-class hunters would be okay.
Even assuming the worst case scenario.
“Anyway because of the Awakened Special Act if an Awakened person uses force against a civilian they will be severely punished right? Even if they get caught they can deliberately induce a physical fight or something. They say that they can also use that to threaten others.”
“Oh that’s really cool.”
‘The Awakened ones tend to get sentenced more severely than ordinary people so they might be able to suck it up for a long time.’
That was good information.
Woo Tae-sik promised that if he found a decent Awakener he would give it a try.
“Then I’ll see you later. I have an appointment outside today so I’ll contact you later.”
“Yes bro. Have a nice trip.”
“okay.”
So the fellow dealer walked out of the office.
And then just then his sales phone which had been sitting on his desk for a moment rang.
It was the MeTube editor who was supposed to come today.
“Yes sir. I have received your call.”
-We’re almost there. Where should we go?
“Ah! You can come straight to the office you came to yesterday. I’ve already finished preparing the contract.”
-Okay see you soon.
“Please come slowly. I have left plenty of time for you on purpose.”
Stop.
A simple phone call will do the trick.
Woo Tae-sik put down the phone went into the hallway for a moment opened the window and put a cigarette in his mouth.
‘If we finish the contract today should I ask Eugene to go to the beach? I think she’ll come with me if I buy her a bag.’
Woo Tae-sik who was thinking about the girl he had been contacting a lot recently soon saw a group of people coming into the building.
A group consisting of two men and one woman.
The one that caught my eye the most was a foreigner with a slender body.
“and.”
Is that what they mean when they say that your beauty isn’t hidden even when you’re wearing a mask?
He couldn’t take his eyes off her but soon a regrettable situation arose.
She went into the building where Woo Tae-sik was.
‘Do people like that come to buy used cars? I don’t know who the dealer is but I’m jealous.’
If it’s a woman like that wouldn’t it be okay to arrange for a really good listing instead of a fake one and then continue contacting her?
Woo Tae-sik thought like that.
But it’s just a fantasy with no particular nutritional value.
He roughly dusted off the cigarette he was smoking and threw it out the window then took some perfume out of his pocket and sprayed it all over his body.

And just as I was about to enter the office
“Dealer.”
“Are you here customer… huh?”
Standing before my eyes was the Western woman I had seen just a moment ago.
And standing next to her was the editor of the YouTube channel Hogu who had sold the flooded car at a high price yesterday.
“The people next to you are…..”
“Ah! This is my older brother and this is my close older sister.”
“Come to your senses. Instead of doing this here why don’t you go into the office and talk about it?”
Woo Tae-sik guided them into the office calming his nervous mind.
Then he made some coffee from the coffee pot in the office and placed it in front of them.
“Thank you for coming such a long way. You said you live near the Limen Church’s holy land right?”
“yes.”
“You can call me brother or sister comfortably. If Shihyuk is my brother then he’s my brother. By the way I also wish to visit the Limen Church’s holy grounds once. I heard it’s such a hot place haha.”
He sat down speaking cheerfully.
And then he continued asking questions in a quiet voice.
“I heard that your brother is looking for a car to drive. Is that right?”
Then the man wearing the mask answered in an indifferent voice.
“yes.”
“This is purely a matter of personal curiosity but… Are you two a couple? You look so good together.”
When I asked the question while glancing at the Western woman next to me the man answered in a dull voice.
“We’re not that close. We’re just seniors and juniors at work?”
“Oh if you don’t mind what are you doing….”
“I am a religious person.”
“I’m a religious person. I know because I went to church when I was a student. I went to retreats with the pastor and gave testimonies. That’s what I did. You’re doing good work.”
“Not you.”
“Oh I see.”
‘Are they from a cult? I don’t know. But I told you that they’re not a couple…’
If I do well I might have a chance to get along with this woman.
Woo Tae-sik raised the corners of his lips and looked at the woman again.
It’s even more impressive when seen up close.
I quickly served him coffee because I wanted to see his face without his mask but unfortunately he wasn’t drinking it.
‘I’ll have to ask for her phone number later.’
While Woo Tae-sik was thinking about various things in his head the man who had been quietly watching him asked a question in a stiff voice.
“I was so shocked when I saw the car my brother brought in yesterday that I came here myself.”
“We only carry the best cars. You will be shocked.”
Is it because of my mood?
Woo Tae-sik felt that this man’s voice was quite familiar.
I feel like I’ve heard it somewhere.
But no matter how much I thought about where I heard it I couldn’t figure it out.
“The best cars?”
“Yes our company offers the best cars at very reasonable prices…”
“Luna.”
“Yes Your Majesty.”
“Is that so?”
“That’s right. That’s strange. A human being can’t be this shameless but he’s trying to hold on to me until the end. Should we go and find out?”
“exorcism.”
A western woman standing up from her seat at the man’s command.
She walked out of the office with light steps and soon the office door closed with a loud slam.
“What the heck is this…..”
Instead of answering Woo Tae-sik’s question the man took off his mask.
“You sold a flooded car to my brother.”
“A flooded car? I think there’s a misunderstanding. The documents are also clearly….”
“Look at my face.”
“yes?”
Woo Tae-sik looked at the man’s masked face with a frown on his face.
And after 5 seconds I could immediately tell who the person in front of me was.
A person that anyone living in Korea cannot help but know.
A person you can see almost every day when you turn on the internet or TV.
“…Kim Si-woo?”
I couldn’t believe it but it was that guy.
The man no Kim Si-woo said with a smile.
“It’s a day that reminds me of old novels. I feel lucky don’t you think? Do you know how that novel ended?”
“I don’t know….”
Kim Si-woo shrugged his shoulders at Woo Tae-sik’s sincere answer.
“Then study hard while you’re in school. I’ll teach you instead.”
Kim Si-woo got up from his seat and approached Woo Tae-sik. Then he finished speaking with a big smile.
“It’s a bad ending. Just like you are now.”
2.
What I think now is that scammers continue to operate regardless of the era.
This method of selling a flooded car as if it were not a flooded car.
It is regrettable that this method is still effective even though it is one of the traditional fraud methods that has been around for a very long time.
And what’s even more shocking is that that method worked on my brother.
So I came here in person and confirmed that this guy’s evil deeds were more than I had expected.
“You’re forcing ridiculous amounts of money into installments from the elderly and then easily preying on young adults… Are you really that evil? Because of people like you even honest used car sellers are getting cursed at.”
I frowned as I checked the papers in my office.
It’s ridiculous to fall for such a classic tactic but in the end the primary cause of all the problems was this piece of trash.
“Do you have anything to say?”
“…doesn’t exist.”
“Then why on earth did you do something so ridiculous? Are you happy with making money like this? You little punk this is a scam. And it’s a habitual scam.”
Perhaps this guy thinks to himself that he is unlucky.
That’s usually the kind of people who do this kind of thing.
I don’t really feel guilty and I think it’s natural to hurt someone.
It makes me sad that my brother got scammed but it also makes me sad to see these guys act so aggrieved.
“hey.”
I continued to talk to the guy who had a look of resentment on his face.
“…yes.”
“What’s so unfair?”
Then he looked at me and said
“No matter what I did isn’t it a felony for an Awakened person to hit a civilian? It’s all recorded in the office so if I report this to the police….”
“How old are you?”
“Twenty-two.”
“Who said that it is a felony for an awakened person to hit a civilian?”
“It’s a shooter.”
“Your voice is still strong. A guy who usually breaks the law is now trying to get the protection of the law after getting beaten up a few times. You’re really amazing you’re amazing.”
It is true that it is a felony for an Awakened person to hit a civilian.
If a normal person hits an Awakened person it will only tickle them but if an Awakened person hits an ordinary person they could die.
I’ve heard that there’s an increasing number of people abusing that law to prey on the awakened but I never thought I’d witness it with my own eyes.
I lifted Woo Tae-sik who was kneeling by the collar.
The guy was flailing around in the air.
“Tae-sik twenty-two-year-old Tae-sik. It is a felony for an Awakened person to hit a normal person but not me. Since you like the law I’ll tell you something. Have you ever heard of the Irregular Special Act? I’m not guilty even if I sentence criminals to a summary trial.”
Even pranks should be done with caution.
What if Inwook hadn’t been scammed?
This guy must have continued to create victims. That’s the nature of these types of people.
“In other words if I kill you here no one will hold me accountable.”
Gulp.
A yellow liquid flows down Woo Tae-sik’s leg.
As expected fists work better than the law against these types of people.
“Please save me… Please save me. I won’t do it again. I will refund your brother and give him compensation.”
Before he knew it tears were streaming down Woo Tae-sik’s face.
The confident appearance from before is nowhere to be found.
The face of a twenty-two year old.
I smiled faintly at Woo Tae-sik who had peed his pants.
“You said you wanted to visit our religious sect’s holy ground? Let’s go right now. I’ll guide you. Right? Do you like basements?”
I had no intention of leaving this guy here.
I can’t just let the guy who attacked my brother go.
Isn’t that right?
Our Pope please stop this
