Somebody Stop the Pope – 21

Episode 21
7. Vote for your temple
1.
The next morning.
“Hmm.”
I sat on the sofa in the living room and fingered the necklace that seemed to have a strong sense of divinity.
The holy relic that Leo brought with him when he came to Earth <The Token of Limen>.
It was an impressive necklace with a light green gem and was one of the representative relics kept by the Limen Order which Limen had personally blessed.
Originally a holy relic kept in the Vatican it was inexplicably brought to Earth.
There was no way Leo could have trespassed and stolen the relic and Leo also said that he had received a revelation from Limen.
Although Limen didn’t tell me why I could understand Limen’s intentions as soon as I received the necklace from Leo.
[Information on the main quest <Cult Expansion> has been updated.]
[Church expansion – temple]
Type: Main
Description: You have acquired a relic imbued with the power of your god through a missionary from Eden. This sets you a new goal.
Your Holiness build a temple for those who have willingly become members of your church. The temple will become a precious treasure of faith where the believers can grow together in faith.
Completion Conditions: Build a temple.
Reward: 1. Characteristic <Baptism> Level +1
2. Divine Points (DP) 500 points
This is a development that was roughly expected.
This is because a temple was a very essential element for a religious order to take hold.
A place where you can pray to God.
A meeting place where you can learn doctrine and actively communicate with other believers.
The role of the temple is also a very essential role in religion and this was not much different from the established religions of the Earth.
Christian churches Buddhist temples Islamic mosques etc.
The roles played by those facilities can be seen as those performed by the temple in Eden.

So in the end this <Main Quest> really meant that the Limen Church was progressing towards establishing itself on Earth.
That was when I was lost in thought fiddling with the necklace for a long time.
“Your Holiness would you please lift your feet for a moment?”
“Oh okay.”
“thank you.”
“…Wait a minute. Something seems a bit strange.”
I woke up from my reverie at Leo’s words and looked straight ahead.
Leo wearing Hawaiian shorts and a white short-sleeved T-shirt that looked like it was going to burst was vacuuming the living room.
It’s not that strange to clean up. Leo is a neat person by nature so it’s not strange.
However in this situation right now I feel a strange sense of incongruity.
“Where did you learn how to use a vacuum cleaner?”
It was because Leo who had arrived on Earth less than a day earlier was skillfully using a vacuum cleaner.
It was Leo who had clearly expressed his shock at the new invention called the elevator until yesterday.
So I thought it would take some time to adjust to Earth but when I opened the lid that wasn’t the case at all.
“Before she went to school Siyeon told me about it. And she handed me this little booklet.”
As Leo said this he took the vacuum cleaner’s manual out of his pocket.
Then he spoke with a still blunt expression.
“Since I am personally hosting His Holiness the Pope I will be responsible for the cleanliness of the residence. I hope you do not worry.”
“Did you hang up the laundry too?”
I gestured to the neatly folded clothes and towels on the sofa with a nod and Leo nodded in response.
“Yes. I asked Mr. Inwook and he kindly taught me. I was also able to learn how to use the washing machine and dryer.”
He has the looks to eat a bear but he’s actually a man who’s serious about housework.
It even has a combat function that can easily knock an S-class hunter to the ground. How perfect of a butler is this?
Originally I was planning to let Leo live independently at home as soon as I had the money but I changed my mind.
“Leo.”
“Yes Your Holiness.”
“You are my strong right-hand man both here and in Eden. Do you understand?”
“I will do my best to help you in your ministry.”
I mostly do laundry and cleaning with my right arm.
I nodded in satisfaction at Leo’s answer and then got up from the sofa.
And then he said stretching.
“Let’s finish cleaning up and get ready to go out. Inwook went out to buy you some clothes 30 minutes ago so he’ll be back soon.”
Leo asks cautiously at those words.
“Can I ask what’s going on?”
“hmm.”
After pondering Leo’s question for a moment I came up with a pretty good answer.
I answered with a sly smile.

“Counseling for new believers.”
2.
This is the headquarters of a certain company located in Hapjeong Mapo-gu.
“I should have come to you in person… I’m truly sorry.”
“You can’t ask a busy person to come. It’s better for someone who has free time to come brother.”
“Even so I think it would be impolite to invite the Pope in person.”
“Wow it’s really great. It was nice to see Seoul after such a long time.”
I waved my hand at Minsu’s words and glanced around.
To be honest I didn’t think it would be that big just because it was a YouTuber’s company but when I actually looked at it this way I realized I was wrong.
A five-story building in Seoul close to Hongdae with what looked like a lot of employees.
As I was coming up to the 5th floor where the CEO’s office was located it seemed like there were more than 30 employees I greeted.
Should I definitely say that this is a YouTuber with a lot of subscribers?
Looking at it this way I see Minsu who used to look like a fanatic again.
I asked him casually while drinking the Yemeni Mocha Matari coffee that Minsu had personally prepared for me.
“The company is bigger than I thought.”
Minsu answered my question as if he was embarrassed.
“It’s nothing special. We don’t only handle MeTube work so the scale is a bit bigger than you might think.”
“What other work do you do?”
“We are also a company that has been approved as a guild. You can think of MeTube as one of our main contents and we also carry out guild-level requests such as dungeon conquest requests or gate conquest participation. In fact our sales come from guild requests much more than from MeTube.”
It certainly seemed like there were too many departments and employees to focus solely on MeTube.
I nodded slightly and took another sip of coffee. Then I turned to Leo who was admiring the taste of the coffee next to me and asked
“How is it? Is it edible?”
“It’s a taste that broadens your horizons. It makes you more interested in the food culture of the Earth.”
To that extent it can be considered as the highest praise among the expressions that Leo can give.
I chuckled at Leo’s answer and then spoke to Minsu who had been stealing glances at Leo for a while.
“I am the one I spoke to on the phone yesterday. My name is Archbishop Leo Lumen who came from Eden to preach the doctrine of Limen.”
“Ah! This person!”
When I gave him a sneaky glance Leo put down the cup of coffee he was drinking.
Then he stood up politely and bowed his head politely to Minsu.
“Thank you Limen for allowing me to meet a brother of faith on Earth. Nice to meet you Brother Minsu. My name is Leo Lumen.”
“My name is Gu Min-su.”
“Brother Minsu has already welcomed Limen. I can feel Limen’s traces.”
As Leo said traces of Limen could be felt from Minsu however faintly.
Of course I felt some of Limen’s power from Minsu when I saw him at the hospital and at the Guro-gu Gate last time.
At that time I just let it pass thinking that it would disappear on its own as time passed but Limen’s energy had definitely become much stronger than last time.
Should we say that this is the stage just before divine power sprouts?
It seems that Minsu’s faith was much more sincere than I thought.
I think we’ll need to keep an eye on Minsu’s condition for the time being.
This is because even in Eden it was not that common for a magic holder to gain divine powers.
anyway.
The two exchanged greetings and the main topic began in a friendly atmosphere.
“Would you please look at this first?”
As I said that I took out the <Limen’s Token> from my bosom and placed it on the desk.
<Limen’s Mark>
●Item Type: Holy Relic – Limen Church
●Original dimension: Eden
●Description: A necklace imbued with the power of Limen. It contains the power to form a <sanctuary>. It can only be used on lands that the cult rightfully occupies according to the causal agreement made with <Dimension: Earth>.
●Usage Effect: Declare a <Sanctuary> within a certain range.
*Warning! Lands forcibly occupied according to causality are not recognized.
The sanctuary mentioned here refers to the land touched by Limen’s power.
According to the doctrine of the Limen Church the church’s temple must be built on a sanctuary.
In the case of Eden there was no particular problem because the land that Limen had blessed became a sanctuary and was located throughout the continent.
But this is Earth.
Could there be a land blessed by Limen?
Limen also knows that which is why he sent me his relic through Leo.
Woooooooooooo-.
“iced coffee.”
The sacred power contained in the relic resonated with Minsu and he opened his mouth while looking at the necklace with a moved expression.
“This is…..”
“This is the holy relic of the order that Archbishop Leo brought with him when he came over from Eden.”
I gave a brief explanation and then continued talking.
“The archbishop who will preach the doctrine of the church has arrived on Earth so we will now begin our missionary work in earnest.”
“How may I help you?”
“I would like to build a temple first.”
At my words Minsu answered by picking up his cell phone as if he had been waiting for me.
“I will contact the management support team right away to try and secure the funds. If it is for Limen-nim’s historic first temple….”
“…If you needed money urgently you wouldn’t have come to Brother Minsu right?”
Money wasn’t the immediate concern.
If necessary it’s a problem I can solve without having to borrow money.
It’s different from the old days when all you had was a healthy body. You’ll need some help from the Ability Management Department but if you set your mind to making money through gates and dungeons you can make as much money as you want.
It may even be possible to copy money at the level of cryptocurrencies that were popular in their day.
I looked into Minsu’s eyes and spoke slowly.
“As this is the first temple of the Limen Sect I would like to come up with an idea that is a bit more familiar to the public. It would be even better if it were a method that allows as many people as possible to participate.”
I had a vague expectation that since he was a YouTuber with 5.4 million subscribers he would have some kind of brilliant wit.
I guess I’m just not very good at improvising when it comes to this kind of content.
The same goes for Leo.
It would be greedy to expect such a thing from Leo who is armed with principles.
Improvisation on the battlefield and this kind of improvisation are completely different things.
“You don’t have to feel burdened.”
I thought it would be an embarrassing question for Minsu as well so I tried to give him some time.
But it seems like that was just my mistake.
“Have you already decided on a location for the temple?”
“Not yet.”
“You don’t have any place in mind?”
“yes.”
Minsu looked into my eyes and said to my short answer.
“Then how about this?”
And then I asked Minsu’s idea in a tone of bewilderment.
“Is that okay?”
Our Pope please stop this
