    Episode 202

    3.

    She introduced herself as Terra.

“Some people call me Gaia and others call me by many other names. But does it matter what they call me? In fact none of that matters. The fact that I still exist is the only thing that matters.”

When I asked her what she would prefer to be called she answered “Terra.”

    Terra.

The many other names she had all meant the same thing.

Land. This land we live on.

“You are also the one who gave humanity the gift of the system.”

“You can proudly say that you are the one responsible for this situation.”

    “I’m the mastermind… isn’t that a bit unfair?”

She filled her empty glass again with the golden liquid.

And then he emptied the liquid in one gulp and continued speaking in a quiet voice.

“I won’t make excuses to you. But I couldn’t help it. You humans will do anything to survive right? I’m no different.”

“Is this too human an excuse for a being called God?”

“I’m glad to hear that. Oh and I was the one who made the deal with Limen. I sold you to Limen.”

Terra shamelessly blurts out that she sold me to another world without my consent.

I looked at her with a frown on my face.

Then Terra refilled my empty glass with shikhye and said

“I lent a small thing to a god who is like a country bumpkin but I didn’t expect it to come back this big. Is that what humans call a rice cake?”

    “Don’t talk about Limen carelessly.”

“Did you two make eye contact? When I was imitating Limen earlier you looked really angry. The love between a god and the human who serves him… That wouldn’t be fun even if it was made into a drama. It’s not realistic and the material is old.”

“Did you become a god with that beak? You talk too much for nothing.”

“That’s funny. I’ve been wondering this for a while now. What on earth are you thinking that makes you act so bold in front of me?”

    Terra’s eyes glow black.

Her divine power surges violently toward me.

I felt like I was going to take my life at any moment.

But I endured that divine power silently. And then I looked straight at Terra and said.

    “Am I something you need?”

    “Why are you so sure?”

“There’s no way I’d be this kind of friendly and talk to someone who doesn’t need a tutorial.”

“Maybe I just want to play with some critters for the first time in a while.”

    “Then let’s kill him.”

“At least pretend to be scared. It’ll be more fun that way. If you look closely you always seem like someone who only lives for today.”

    I shrugged at her words.

“If you live today there will be tomorrow. If you die today there will be no tomorrow.”

    “It sounds pretty plausible.”

“Everyone has left and this divine power that is oppressing me now seems similar to the divine power used by those so-called ancient gods. Am I mistaken?”

Something I’ve been curious about for a while now.

Regardless of whether this guy is a system or not this unpleasant divine power is annoying.

This is because it was a divine power that was not much different from the divine power used by the ancient gods who were said to have been driven out of the Earth.

Terra answered my question as if it were a given.

“It’s not a mistake it’s similar. It’s because I share the same roots as those guys. If we share the same roots the divine power cannot help but feel similar. The only difference between those guys and me is that they were banished and I fell asleep on Earth.”

“Why are you the only one left on Earth?”

    “It’s simple.”

Terra stood up from her chair.

Then he came towards me leaned towards me and said:

    “Because I was a traitor.”

    “betrayer?”

“I was born from those who believed in this land. I could not join forces with those who wanted to do whatever they wanted with the land.”

She turned around and approached the statue of Limen.

These were stories I had never even heard from Limen or Beth.

Is what she says really true?

But I soon realized that it was meaningless to judge whether what I said was right or wrong.

“Believe it or not it’s your choice. Nothing will change even if you hear that story anyway.”

It was just as she said.

A story from the distant past.

What kind of wars there were in ancient times was actually of no interest to me.

What’s important to me now is what happens next.

Terra would not have come forward like this just to tell a story about the past.

“Oh I just had a sudden thought.”

Terra pointed to Limen’s faceless statue with her finger.

“There is no particular reason why you find my divine power unpleasant. Limen’s divine power is free of impurities. Her divine power is entirely hers that’s why. On the other hand my divine power is quite a mixed bag. It is the divine power that I absorbed from other gods.”

    “I wasn’t particularly curious.”

“Really? You had a curious expression on your face?”

Maybe it’s because he’s a god but he’s quite perceptive.

    I have resolved one question.

Absorbed the divine power of other deities.

I never thought that would be possible. I guess I felt uncomfortable because of the impurities that didn’t blend properly in the process.

When you think about it that way it’s easy to understand.

In short it was a mixed stew.

“Then it was you who opened the dimension?”

“That’s what the exiled ones did to return to Earth.”

“You said he was a traitor but you couldn’t stop him?”

“What do you want me to do with those guys who have been growing their power in other dimensions? That’s why I gave humanity a system. And I even sent some of them to other dimensions to study… I worked hard.”

Is this study abroad thing really throwing me into another dimension?

It’s too brutal for studying abroad.

“There are many cases of people dying after studying abroad right? It’s similar to that.”

Only then did I realize the real reason she had given humanity the system.

The system had only one purpose from the beginning.

“You were thinking of raising humanity to stop them.”

    “that’s right.”

“Then let me ask you one thing.”

I got up from my chair and approached her.

And he asked with his fists clenched.

“You were the one who brought the magic users into this world?”

Her permission would have been essential for the Demon King’s men to come over to this world.

What this means is that Terra ultimately allowed the Demon King to come to Earth.

    She didn’t deny my question.

“That’s my doing. That energy you call magic is also one of the ways to reach the level.”

“You’re saying that you’re going to let those bastards who mercilessly kill people reach that level? And you’re still a god after doing that?”

My teeth still gnash when I think about what they did in Eden.

Those guys are a terrible disaster.

    Things I absolutely cannot tolerate.

However Terra drew up the black divine power in his hand. Then he spread the divine power in all directions and said.

“Are you going to ask me to tell you what’s good or evil? Once they come back there’ll be no need to tell them what’s good or evil.”

    She comes towards me again.

And then he grabbed me by the collar and smiled.

“I am a being that governs causality and is part of causality. What is on my scales right now is not good and evil. It is the survival and destruction of the Earth.”

    She is not my ally.

That doesn’t mean there was a clear enemy.

A gray molecule located somewhere between friend and foe.

“I just need bullets to fight the war. It doesn’t matter to me what they’re made of.”

    Sarrururuk.

The temple we were standing on collapsed from the ceiling.

As if to prove that everything up until now was just an illusion the scenery around us changes in the blink of an eye.

    There was nothing here now.

Both the pillars and the chairs.

    Limen’s new statue.

A desolate land where no life can be found. A red sun was shining ominously in the sky.

“The future of Earth that you will face if you fail to stop it. This is why I called you. I wanted to show you this.”

She spoke on the split ground.

Her brown skin glows blood red as it catches the sun’s red light.

“I think you need some motivation.”

    I frowned at her voice.

    “What a fucking motivator.”

“I won’t stop you from destroying evil and pursuing good. If you become stronger in the process that’s not a bad thing. But remember. Your enemies aren’t just demons.”

    The sky is splitting apart.

Countless monsters appear from the gaps in the ash-colored sky.

Terra pointed at the monsters with his finger and said.

“Never forget that those who should not return are returning.”

[Quest <Labyrinth of the Faceless> has been forcibly completed.]

[As a reward you will receive 30000 sacred points and a <random relic>.]

    After a while.

    Srrrrrr.

A black light engulfed my vision and through it Terra’s voice sounded low.

“I will continue to watch over you my dear Pope. Give my regards to Limen.”

That was the end of it.

When I opened my eyes again.

    “His Holiness!”

    “older brother!”

    “Brother!”

Before I knew it I was next to my colleagues.

    4.

It was when we came out of the dungeon.

The hole that had been dug so deep it was frightening was already gone.

    “That’s amazing.”

“I never thought a bottomless pit would be filled in so quickly. I thought it would take a long time to fill it.”

My colleagues let out small exclamations as they looked at the flat land that had once been a pit.

    Terra.

This would be nothing to her.

Just as Eden was the realm of Limen this Earth will be the realm of Terra.

I sighed as I took off the suit I was wearing.

    “Everyone worked hard.”

None of my colleagues asked me what happened.

I guess that means my expression was that serious.

    Even Luna didn’t ask anything.

    “Phew.”

My head was in a state of confusion.

Limen never once told me about Terra’s existence.

That means there is some kind of promise between Limen and Terra.

Come to think of it there was a time when Limen wanted to tell me something but I couldn’t do it the way she wanted.

Were those stories related to Terra?

Let me briefly summarize my feelings right now.

“I feel like I’ve met the evil boss I’ve only heard about through rumors.”

It feels like I’ve finally met my boss who has always delayed my paycheck and never shown his face.

In short it means that I feel really dirty.

It feels like I’ve met the mastermind behind my crossing over to Eden.

As I was scratching my chin and thinking about this and that Luna who was behind me asked in a quiet voice.

“Your Holiness what happened to the Holy Relics?”

    “Oh right.”

<Random Relic> obtained while clearing this quest.

    I forgot for a moment.

    Meeting Terra was so shocking.

I nodded to Luna’s words and quickly shouted out a command.

    “Random relics.”

Then a new message window appeared before my eyes.

    [Use item <Random Relic>.]

[Randomly select one of the relics of the <Rimeen Order>.]

[According to the <Eden-Earth Interdimensional Agreement> this work is not subject to causality.]

It would be nice if it was a holy relic of a level that could be used to build a temple.

There is a considerable difference in level between relics so some relics cannot create holy sites.

I don’t want to be too greedy.

Only intermediate to advanced level relics or higher are sufficient.

    Woof woof woof.

Divine power gathers in the air and soon begins to form a shape.

About a minute later the relic was brought to Earth.

    The finally completed shape.

Luna muttered in disbelief after seeing the relic.

    “This is a big problem.”

“…This is really a big problem.”

I scratched my head while holding the completed ‘sword’ in my hand.

“Is there chaos at the Vatican in Eden right now?”

“It’s a good thing it’s over in the middle of chaos. If you don’t contact me separately it seems like there’s going to be a war.”

[You have acquired the Holy Relic <Sword of Judgement>.]

    1st place.

No I ended up winning 0th place.

    Because this black….
