Somebody Stop the Pope – 187

Episode 187
3.
The meeting of key executives began and the first to speak was Luna.
“Your Majesty I have a good idea.”
Just like Inwook our Luna Reventon went on vacation and came back with a tan.
I get scared every time Luna speaks with such confidence.
But still seeing as I want to listen to Luna it seems like Luna’s nagging is really addictive.
Are you saying that I want to hear it without realizing it?
I nodded sighing.
“Tell me something.”
“There’s no need for a new temple to be built in the country right?”
“…yes.”
First of all South Korea can be covered sufficiently with just the Shinto shrines in Seoul.
There were plans to build a shrine at Ground Zero in Busan and Daejeon but it didn’t have to be now.
“So does that mean it can be built overseas?”
“At least someone of archbishop level should go. I think Archbishop Laparte is the right person for the job.”
Building a temple means regularly worshipping there – we can conveniently call it worship.
Currently the regular worship service of the Limen Church is held on Sundays when people are resting so if a new temple is built worship will have to be held there as well.
In order to do that we need to send a bishop but there are currently no bishop-level priests on Earth.
Archbishop Leo Laparte there are only two archbishops.
Luna raised her voice after hearing what I said.
“The place I have in mind is overseas.”
“Japan? America?”
“no.”
“…Then where?”
A moment later a bomb burst out of Luna’s mouth.

“Shanghai China. Another holy place for the Limen Church where our proud brother Lin Tao is preaching while overcoming the pressure of the government! We should at least make a monument to his martyrdom there.”
After hearing that I asked Leo a question.
“Is Lin Tao dead?”
“No I’m alive and well.”
“But why do they call him a martyr?”
“That is… if you don’t get martyred there Lord Reventon will do it himself…”
“This is driving me crazy.”
This is driving me crazy.
But Luna paid no attention to what I said and continued her story confidently.
“China is currently in chaos! It’s a mess! It’s a mess! Life is being lost without a trace and as a sect of mercy we can’t just sit back and watch!”
Luna speaks more passionately than ever.
Are you intoxicated by the atmosphere?
Luna began to reveal her true feelings in an instant.
“And you know that strategy simulation game called Wars of the Stars?”
“I know.”
One of the traditional Korean games where three races humans aliens and predators fight each other.
A time-honored strategy simulation game that was all the rage in the early 21st century and has since been remastered remastered final remastered and ultimate versions.
But why is it suddenly coming out here?
“If you look there there is a strategy called Forward Barracks Forward Gate.”
“…so?”
“So what we’re saying is let’s try to make a forward shrine. We can put some effort into ending the civil war and increase our followers. It’s good…”
“Leo.”
“Yes Your Majesty.”
“Pull it out.”
“yes.”
Leo quietly got up from his seat and dragged Luna chair included out of the office.
“No Your Majesty! I told you this is a really effective strategy. Don’t look at the trees look at the forest….”
After a desperate cry Luna exits.
I sighed deeply rubbing my pounding head.
“The Forward Temple is really… phew. Isn’t Archbishop Lapart managing Fort Luna properly?”
Originally Archbishop Lapart was in charge of Luna but this meeting was held with Archbishop Lapart and yet he did this.
But Archbishop Laparte’s reaction was strange.
If it were a normal situation he would have dragged Luna out with his own hands but he was just quietly drinking tea.
“Sir Luna Reventon’s loyalty and faith are truly remarkable isn’t it Your Majesty?”
“…Are you the mastermind?”
“I don’t know what you are talking about.”
That’s for sure.

They say that the axe you trust will get you stabbed in the foot.
It seemed as if Luna had shouted so energetically. It was all part of Archbishop Lapart’s elaborate plan.
I shook my head and sighed deeply.
“China not yet.”
“Why?”
“If we’re not careful we could end up intervening in a civil war. Please tell Brother Lin Tao that safety always comes first.”
“I’m sorry but I understand.”
What on earth is missing?
“Let’s go ahead and build a shrine in Japan as originally planned.”
It seems that they have also accepted Japanese students and that the first thing to do is to build a shrine in Japan to expand the influence of the religious order.
Archbishop Laparte looked disappointed at my words but still agreed.
“But Your Holiness have you acquired a new relic?”
“A holy relic?”
“I asked because I suddenly heard that you were building a second temple.”
“Oh that’s not it. I was given the authority to set up a holy place by Limen.”
To be exact it’s like receiving the power of both Limen and System at the same time.
Then Archbishop Laparte opened his eyes wide. Then he bowed his head respectfully to me.
“Your Majesty you are ultimately following the path of God. I will do my best to assist you on your path.”
“This is Archbishop Laparte’s first time.”
“What are you talking about?”
“I’m the one who said something about God first. Everyone else just said he was crazy.”
Then Archbishop Laparte smiled kindly and answered.
“It is only natural that those who love and follow the will of the Rimen will become like him. I knew that if it were His Holiness he would walk that path.”
Is it stated in the Bible about <격>?
“Is it in the Bible?”
“Yes Archbishop Leo would know but it is not mentioned in detail.”
“Luna?”
“Sir Luna Reventon does not read the Bible. Perhaps….”
You’re saying I don’t know?
So it was decided that the second branch of the Limen Church or rather the second temple would be built in Japan.
What should I do from now on?
First I guess I should convey my intention to Japan?
4.
Things progressed at a rapid pace.
We also relayed to the South Korean government that we plan to build a second temple for our religious order in Japan.
But since it is a religion that grew based in South Korea I thought it would be polite to talk to the government in advance.
The South Korean government didn’t say anything special either.
On the contrary the government also asked if I would like to go with them since they had personnel to send to Japan.
So we decided to just go together.
But the problem is
“I didn’t know that the person going with me would be the President.”
“Haha! Spending time with our Pope Kim and solving urgent problems. Isn’t that something like that?”
I didn’t know that the ‘personnel to be dispatched’ would be President Seo Shin-woo.
“When I think about this I suddenly remember the first time I met Pope Kim. Didn’t I give him a ride to the airport then?”
“Now that I think about it that’s true.”
“This time I’ll be flying you all the way to Japan. When my term as president ends how about becoming Pope Kim’s knight? Oh! The knight I’m talking about is not the one who wields a sword but the one who holds the steering wheel.”
The plane I’m on right now is the famous Air Force One the plane the president uses when he travels abroad.
That plane I only saw on the news.
It might have been novel in the past but it’s not really novel anymore.
I also tried tteokbokki at the Blue House and I already had a new and wonderful experience at Eden.
“Originally I was thinking of taking a civilian aircraft but my staff strongly advised against it.”
“Is this an unofficial visit?”
“It’s an official visit disguised as an unofficial visit. I’m going there to have a direct discussion about the China issue.”
“The China problem seems serious.”
As soon as the topic of China came up fatigue began to creep up President Seo’s face again.
“The problem is much more serious than what foreign media reports. The purifiers are creating chaos behind the scenes. Apart from the independence of ethnic minorities factions within the Chinese Communist Party are in sharp conflict with each other.”
“What are the chances of it splitting?”
“…It’s high. That’s why it’s a headache.”
I lightly blessed the struggling president with divine power.
Then the president’s complexion which had been close to earthy improved significantly.
“Thank you. As expected divine power is truly amazing.”
“Take care of yourself.”
“When I wake up in the morning I jog for an hour. However I’ve had too many all-night meetings recently… These are the days when I miss leaving work on time.”
The president took a sip of water.
And then he continued speaking with a forced smile.
“Have you explored the site for building the temple?”
“For now I’m thinking of Sendai City.”
“It seems like a place with symbolic meaning to the Rimen sect and Japan where the Pope subdued Yamata no Orochi. I think it’ll be fine.”
An incident that served as a bridge between South Korea and Japan which had been at a standstill.
In fact Japan is currently a place where the popularity of the Rimen religion is as high as in South Korea.
It is not uncommon to see Japanese people who come to Seoul to visit the temple of the Rimen sect.
If our church could become a symbol of peace that alone would make Limen happy.
“Mr. President we will be landing shortly.”
“Oh really? Okay I understand.”
After hearing the Chief of Staff’s words President Seo made a slight gesture toward me.
“Fasten your seatbelts Pope Kim we are landing.”
“Thank you for worrying about me…”
“I’m worried about the plane. I’m sure Pope Kim is fine but if Pope Kim rolls around here… I’ll be the first South Korean president to die in a plane crash.”
I see.
It turns out he wasn’t worried about me he was worried about his own life.
I scratched my head awkwardly and then put on my belt obediently.
Five minutes later.
We arrived at our destination Haneda Airport in Japan.
Haneda Airport not Narita International Airport which I went to last time.
After landing President Seo unbuckled his seatbelt. He then stood up and said:
“Shall we go?”
“Yes that’s right.”
I got off the plane with President Seo.
Perhaps because it was an unofficial visit there was no inspection of the honor guard which is usually done.
Instead as soon as we got off Japanese Prime Minister Sasaki welcomed us.
“President Seo Shin-woo Pope Kim Si-woo have you arrived? We have been waiting for you.”
“It’s been a while Prime Minister Sasaki. How have you been?”
Prime Minister Sasaki first shook hands with President Seo Shin-woo.
“I also can’t sleep at night for the same reason as President Seo Shin-woo.”
“I’d like to recommend a good car. But looking at my dark circles… I’m not sure if that would be a very trustworthy recommendation haha.”
The two exchanged brief greetings and then Prime Minister Sasaki offered me a handshake.
“Welcome to Japan Pope Kim Si-woo. First of all I would like to apologize for the incident that occurred in Busan last time. I sincerely apologize for allowing Japanese criminals to flow there and for tarnishing the reputation of the Limen Church.”
Prime Minister Sasaki like a seasoned politician is quick to admit what needs to be admitted.
In this situation it’s no use asking him questions.
I smiled as I held Prime Minister Sasaki’s hand.
“It was the bad guys who did the wrong thing. I don’t think there is any need for the Prime Minister to apologize.”
“Thank you so much for your understanding.”
Prime Minister Sasaki bowed his head politely and apologized again.
A person who knows how to sleep when he has to.
These people are truly a difficult group.
He apologized several more times after that then soon spoke to me in a soft voice.
“You can go straight to the official residence from here but if you don’t mind could you stop by inside the airport?”
“If only President Seo Shin-woo would be okay with it. But why?”
“I have something to show you.”
I glanced at President Seo Shin-woo and he nodded.
There’s nothing urgent right now so I’ll just stop by and take a look.
Did you bring something great to the airport?
As I nodded Prime Minister Sasaki immediately led us inside the airport.
And only then did I realize why Prime Minister Sasaki had brought me to the airport.
“Kim Si-woo is Pope!”
“Your Holiness!”
“I love you! I love Pope Kim Si-woo!”
A crowd of people as if they had filled the entire airport. Each of them was holding a picket sign and shouting at me.
Is this deja vu?
I think I’ve seen this scene in America too… But I guess I should say hello to the people who waited for me.
I waved my hand gently at them in greeting.
And then Prime Minister Sasaki spoke to me in a pleased voice.
“Welcome back to Japan again.”
It was a truly grand welcome ceremony different from when I first entered Japan.
Our Pope please stop this
