Somebody Stop the Pope – 178

Episode 178
3.
Shincheonwadae located in Sejong City.
President Seo Shin-woo looked out the window and let out a small sigh.
These are crazy days.
Terrorism in America and civil war in China.
In this situation there are so many overwhelming issues that are popping up.
It was a huge wave that temporarily halted the northward advance operation that the government had been preparing on a large scale.
Thanks to the successful suppression of the gates that appeared simultaneously the Korean Peninsula was regaining stability at a faster rate than other regions.
However President Seo Shin-woo could not shake off the feeling of anxiety that had settled in a corner of his heart.
It felt like those waves could engulf this Korean peninsula at any moment.
It was around this time that President Seo was looking out the window and organizing his thoughts.
Knock knock.
Someone knocked on his office door.
“Come in.”
An old gentleman came into the office.
President Seo put the coffee cup he was holding down on the desk and greeted him with a happy face.
“Minister Yoo Seon-ho. Why did you come here in person? I heard today was your day off.”
“I stopped by because I have something urgent to report. I happened to be having a meeting around Sejong City.”
“Is this an urgent report? Then please contact the Chief Secretary separately.”
“I said that because there was no time for that.”
“Let’s sit down and talk.”
President Seo invited Minister Yoo Seon-ho to sit down and Minister Yoo took a deep breath and nodded.
“We just had coffee.”
“thank you.”
Minister Yoo Seon-ho took a careful sip of the coffee the President had personally poured for him. Then he began reporting to the President.

“An accident occurred in Busan.”
“…Is this a gate?”
“No. This is Pope Kim Si-woo.”
President Seo Shin-woo’s face hardened as soon as he heard that Pope Kim Si-woo was the cause of the problem.
There is one case where Pope Kim Si-woo takes action himself.
When you find a villain that interests you.
President Seo Shin-woo looked at Minister Yoo Seon-ho with a stern expression and Minister Yoo Seon-ho continued speaking in a serious voice.
“It seems that there was a group in Busan that was secretly gathering followers by impersonating the Limen sect. According to the information provided by the Limen sect they confirmed at least 14 criminal acts including drug dealing and sexual exploitation.”
“…Is that true?”
“There is absolutely no reason for the Limen Church to deceive us.”
“Such heinous crimes are happening but why don’t we know anything about it…?”
At that time several hypotheses emerged in his head.
It wasn’t that difficult to pick out a plausible hypothesis among those.
President Seo Shin-woo spoke with a deep frown.
“Corruption?”
“you’re right.”
“These are the real bastards!”
A harsh curse came out of President Seo Shin-woo’s mouth.
He gulped down the water that was on one side of the desk. Then with his fists clenched he spoke to Minister Yoo Seon-ho.
“How are things?”
“It’s not good. It is said that Pope Kim Si-woo personally visited the meeting between two ruling party lawmakers and one opposition party lawmaker.”
It was obvious how Pope Kim Si-woo would have acted if he had gone to see them in person.
President Seo Shin-woo touched his throbbing head. Then he ground his teeth.
“I warned you not to do anything stupid… You little shits!”
“Pope Kim Si-woo called first and asked if he could make a decision about them.”
“How did you answer?”
“I replied that it was not something that required permission. I told them to do whatever they wanted as it was their natural right as irregulars.”
“Well done. Thanks to Minister Yoo Seon-ho I can finally catch my breath.”
After regaining power in the government with Kim Si-woo’s help the first thing President Seo Shin-woo did was root out corruption.
The worms that still parasitize despite the world changing.
I thought I had scraped most of them clean off.
But looking at what’s happening now nothing has changed.
Rather they were thinking of using the strengthened public power to cause more harm.
President Seo tapped his fingers on the desk.
“The fact that we didn’t know about it until now means that your administrative agencies were also involved Minister Yoo Seon-ho.”
“It’s also related to Japan. They say they found Japanese villains at the scene.”
“I guess I’ll have to call Prime Minister Sasaki for the first time in a while. Chief of Staff!”

President Seo called his chief of staff in a loud voice and the chief of staff who had been waiting outside came into the office in a hurry.
“Yes Mr. President.”
“Busan Mayor Ruling Party Leader Opposition Party Leader Prosecutor General Police Commissioner General. Tell them to come to the Blue House immediately.”
The chief of staff sensed that there was tremendous anger in President Seo’s voice.
That’s why I couldn’t help but bow my head.
“All right.”
“One hour.”
The chief secretary hurriedly left the office and President Suh looked at Minister Yoo Seon-ho again.
“Minister Yoo Seon-ho.”
“Please speak.”
“Please also form an investigation team from the Ability Management Department. The affiliation of the awakened Kang Chae-ah will be temporarily changed to the Ability Management Department. We will form an investigation team centered around the awakened Kang Chae-ah.”
Minister Yoo Seon-ho bowed his head and responded to the President’s words.
“All right.”
“This way you won’t save face.”
President Seo Shin-woo gulped down water again.
“The reason he has not touched politicians until now is because he wanted to be considerate of the government. He has been considerate of us until now but now we have betrayed his kindness. Isn’t that right?”
I felt suffocated.
I couldn’t understand those ignorant people who were trying to fill their own pockets when even if we all worked together to overcome this disaster it wouldn’t be enough.
In his view it was a deal that did not add up.
It was pitiful that those people gave up a greater future just because of momentary greed.
But President Seo understood the nature of money and power better than anyone else.
It was a stupid thing they did because they were human.
Those who are unable to make accurate judgments because their eyes are filled with greed.
“We must ensure that no damage comes to Pope Kim Si-woo as a result of this incident.”
Up until now the government has maintained a good relationship with Kim Si-woo.
And President Seo thought that the good relationship started entirely from Kim Si-woo’s consideration.
That trust relationship cannot be damaged by the mistakes of a few greedy scumbags.
President Seo said clenching his fist.
“Once the emergency meeting is over I will hold a press conference myself.”
Big cracks always start from small mistrusts.
President Seo did not want to give even that small gap.
After organizing his thoughts President Seo immediately picked up the hotline connected to the Japanese Prime Minister’s Office.
After a while Prime Minister Sasaki’s voice was heard over the phone and President Seo suppressed his anger and said.
“Good evening Prime Minister Sasaki. I have something important to discuss with you.”
4.
Certainly the government’s actions were swift.
-…In order to investigate the worst corruption case in history we will establish a special investigation headquarters with the prosecution and police from the Department of Ability Management. We will also thoroughly dig into everything related to this case and conduct an investigation without exception.
Just an hour after I contacted the government President Seo himself stood in front of the cameras and held a press conference.
The contents of the press conference can be summarized as follows.
“1. We will establish a special investigation headquarters to thoroughly investigate this incident.
2. There are no exceptions for members of the National Assembly or anything else. (Since they are caught in the act they do not have the privilege of immunity from arrest.)
3. A very infuriating situation. I have no intention of showing mercy to those involved in corruption.
I ate a spoonful of noodles while watching the press conference broadcast on TV.
It wasn’t the pork soup I had expected when I came to Busan but a special beef soup with lots of Korean beef but it was incredibly delicious.
Is it because the soup was made just for me at the store?
As expected from a high-end Korean restaurant the skills of the people in the kitchen seemed excellent.
“There are no exceptions for members of the National Assembly or anything like that. What do you think gentlemen?”
I put the braised short ribs on top of the soup and put them in my mouth then glanced at the gentlemen standing frozen like statues in front of me.
The bleeding of the gentleman I had stuck my chopsticks into earlier had already stopped.
Because I stopped the bleeding while sticking the chopsticks in.
“Cleaning is really hard.”
If the last cleaning was aimed at villains this cleaning was different.
A purge targeting villains and even forces associated with villains.
Where there is society and power it is natural that corruption occurs.
Because that’s the kind of being that humans are.
Humans are capable of doing anything because of greed.
But that doesn’t mean corruption should be taken for granted.
At least I think so.
New flesh will not grow back unless the rotten flesh is cut away.
“Still thanks to you guys I got some useful information. Thank you.”
The interrogation was simple.
Perhaps because they weren’t even awakened they were able to spout out information they knew without much trouble.
Those Japanese awakeners we met earlier.
Their true identities were none other than the Awakened members of the ‘Rising Sun Society’.
In an instant the remnants of the Rising Sun Society which had been pushed out of the mainstream power in Japan were engaging in crimes while traveling between Korea and Japan.
I finished drinking the soup and then threw the spoon I was holding at Rep. Park.
Then the spoon hit Rep. Park squarely on the forehead.
Taaaaaah.
“Ugh.”
Congressman Park groaned. Blood flowed from his forehead where he had been hit by the spoon but he didn’t even think to wipe it away.
“It was great when the criminal bastards were satisfying their sexual desires and receiving money from the brainwashed victims. Now that they are paying the price you can’t be dissatisfied.”
I never dreamed that the Busan trip I had chosen to judge heretics would lead to such a result.
But this too was a change that I liked in its own way.
I’ve set a good example this time so there will be fewer people who do this kind of thing in the future.
Kim Si-woo can move at any time.
Because people will think like that at least once before they do something bad.
Knock knock.
There was a knock on the door outside and soon a familiar voice was heard beyond it.
“Your Majesty this is Director Kim.”
“Welcome our Director Kim.”
Soon after Director Kim entered the room.
As soon as Director Kim saw me he bowed politely and greeted me.
“I was waiting because you seemed to be eating. If you are finished eating can I take these criminals away?”
“These kids are doing the bad things and our Director Kim is the one who suffers. When I think about it it’s so annoying.”
If it were Seoul there would have been time left after work but Director Kim was forced to work overtime because of me.
Honestly I felt a little sorry.
For office workers leaving work on time is more important than anything else.
But Director Kim spoke with his head bowed.
“The Pope has done all the hard work but we feel ashamed. We are sorry that we were unable to clean up this garbage properly.”
Director Kim said this and gestured to the back and soon the employees of the Ability Management Department entered the room.
They grabbed the arms of the three congressmen who were frozen on the floor and dragged the trash out like a sack.
“We plan to investigate thoroughly. The investigation location is the basement of the Ability Management Department.”
“Oh isn’t that for villains only?”
“This is also the place where we recently received consulting from Archbishop Leo. So you don’t have to worry.”
Director Kim glanced at the trash being dragged away then suppressed his anger and said.
“They won’t be able to sleep comfortably from now on.”
“It’s a little scary.”
“If we’re talking about the scariest part it’s the basement of the temple… no.”
Has the rumor about our temple’s basement already spread? Its identity is also a trade secret.
It was around that time that I was talking with Director Kim.

I looked at the message window and smiled bitterly.
“Leo…..”
…I wasn’t leaving Leo alone.
What the hell is going on this time?
Our Pope please stop this
