    Episode 150

    48. Cleaning time

    1.

The first official expedition of the Limen Order.

The expressions on the faces of the first batch of Limen sect trainees who were mobilized for the expedition were more determined than ever.

This is because unlike the times when we cleared gates or dungeons we knew better than anyone else the meaning of this expedition.

The Republic of Korea’s long-held desire to regain its lost and divided territory.

If you think about it they have been awakened for over half a year now so they cannot help but be nervous about such an important responsibility.

    But just one person.

There was a person who sat next to me and opened his mouth incessantly.

“The atmosphere reminds me of the old days. Isn’t that right Your Majesty?”

    “old days?”

“Why you know. The Silent Plains teeming with demons. It was really hot there. Don’t you remember? The day His Majesty plucked out the limbs of that Ogre King. Demons swarmed from all directions…”

    “Oh I remember.”

    Of course it was Luna.

Luna was wearing her trademark fashion: jeans and a biker jacket.

A completely different appearance from the first batch of trainees wearing armor and priestly attire.

Considering that Luna always wore pure white armor when she went to battle it could also be seen as an expression of her intention not to engage in combat at the moment.

“Leo you give me free time but I have to work like this. Isn’t that too much discrimination?”

“Why is Leo free? He went out to earn money too.”

    “Hey it’s free time.”

Luna took a potato chip out of the bag of chips she was holding in her left hand ate it and then shrugged her shoulders.

“Honestly who else but His Majesty could command Leo?”

    “hmm.”

“Do you think when someone looks at Leo they think ‘He’ll listen to me’ or do they think ‘What if this guy breaks me in half?’”

    I nodded without realizing it.

At times like this Luna also knows how to think logically. I wonder if she doesn’t want to use her head or if she thinks there’s no need to use it.

    I really don’t know why.

As Luna said I don’t think Representative Hwang will actively use Leo.

Not only do the costs increase exponentially every time Leo steps in but the racing guild also has its own pride.

They’re determined to advance into the Lost Land so why would they rely on Leo?

Representative Hwang you can tell just by looking at that person’s face.

A beggar who can bend his pride when necessary is not someone who has no pride at all.

And just like Luna said Leo isn’t someone who can be controlled by anyone.

Only the members of the Vatican could deal with the mad dog of the Holy See.

But I told them to take good care of their customers so they will take care of it.

    “don’t worry.”

“Do you think Leo will really do well?”

“I promised to buy all the electronic devices for you when you come back after satisfying the customers. I promised to buy you a new computer too so I think you’ll do well.”

For Leo who is establishing his identity as an early adopter the latest electronic devices are the best carrot.

In addition he promised to provide limited edition special products produced by Company A in the United States.

Aiden said he would solve it.

I nodded slightly and checked the map.

“There are two colonies that we have to deal with today. I would like to deal with them all in one day but I have to be thorough rather than speedy. Especially the Black Nol that we have to deal with first. You know the habits of these dog-heads right? If you let even one of them live it’s a total waste.”

    Black Nol.

These guys have heads that resemble those of a playing dog so I like to call them dog heads.

Depending on the color of their fur they are called Red Nol Black Nol etc. but the ones with black fur have quite a troublesome characteristic.

    Tremendous reproductive capacity.

If you don’t remove it completely the numbers will quickly recover.

You could say they were no different from cockroaches.

These are the guys that must be dealt with cleanly in order to establish an outpost in Gaeseong.

Luna nodded as soon as she heard me.

“Either we kill them all or we take out all the peanuts. We have to do one of the two. The former is much easier than the latter so let’s get rid of them quickly right?”

“Where did you learn the expression ‘peanut peeling’?”

“On the Internet. Maybe Beth or Snow White will need to get rid of peanuts too?”

It’s a good thing Beth and Snow White aren’t around.

Even though they both basically don’t differentiate between male and female they would definitely get angry if they heard that sound.

Especially if it was Snow White she might have rushed at Luna.

While I was talking about this and that with Luna

“Pope Kim Si-woo I have something to ask you personally.”

Director Kim who had been quietly looking around asked me a question indirectly.

Director Kim was not sent to our side as a combat force but to facilitate organic communication between the government and the Limen Church.

I nodded while looking at Director Kim.

    “What is it?”

“How on earth did you train the first batch of trainees of the Limen Church….”

Director Kim looked at the first batch of trainees from our school who were advancing in front of him.

As I said before everyone was tense but there wasn’t even a hint of fear.

Rather some are caught up in a strange sense of excitement.

It was actually strange that the first batch of trainees were nervous having experienced hellish training and actual combat throughout the training period.

I chuckled as I listened to Director Kim’s words. Then I put on my gauntlets and said.

“If you keep pushing your students to the brink of death that’s what happens. But don’t follow suit. This is a training method that is impossible without divine power.”

Trainings based on the overwhelming regenerative power of divine power.

What is lacking is made up for with the body.

Every time you take damage from an enemy attack the experience from that time is stored in your body.

The real-life experience of shedding blood is the most practical reason why our first batch of trainees were able to grow so quickly.

And I too was a living witness to that ignorant training method.

    “Director Kim.”

    “Yes Your Holiness.”

“People don’t die that easily. If you just keep pushing them until they’re about to die they’ll end up like that. If you have any thoughts feel free to tell me anytime. We’re not strangers… right? We share a lot of affection so why can’t we at least provide them with some kind of education?”

    “That’s not me…..”

“Scouting offers are always welcome as they are valid.”

If I just leave it alone and it runs fine I’d be more than happy to have just one person who could act as my secretary.

In that respect Director Kim is the best person for the job.

He is good at checking things thoroughly and his personality matches mine well.

It would be really nice if you could just come.

    “His Holiness.”

    But then it happened.

While I was working hard to sell to Director Kim Luna called me quietly.

    “I’m watching.”

“It’s a scouting party of about 100 people. What are you going to do? It’ll be a hassle if we just send the scouts back.”

As Luna said from a distance a hundred black-maned gnomes were searching the area.

Maybe it’s because they have a good sense of smell but they seemed to have detected our scent mixed in the wind.

    “A dog’s nose is a dog’s nose.”

“They’re the ones who live off their sense of smell.”

    “100 horses…..”

    It’s not a threatening number.

The total number of first-term trainees who participated in this expedition was 80.

They are growing at an incredible rate and are all armed with equipment that Toby has painstakingly created.

A hundred or so would be a number I could handle in an instant but there was no reason to bring in trainees like that.

“Prepare for battle. Let’s see how your training goes.”

For the first batch of trainees each and every one of them was a valuable experience.

I also need to check how far our children’s combat sense has come so I plan to leave a reconnaissance party of about 100 people to the new recruits.

Instead just make one thing clear.

“You have the highest grade sacred stone right? Use it to create a sacred barrier just enough to block out sound. It’ll be annoying if the howls of the Nols make you cry.”

When faced with a dangerous situation the Noldos gather their comrades by howling.

Luna who understood what I meant nodded obediently.

    “yes.”

Luna gave a short answer and then immediately shouted at the trainees.

    “Let’s go!”

    “For Limen!”

    “For Limen!”

That’s how our church’s first battle began.

    2.

‘…I guess I’ll have to change the evaluation again.’

Director Kim thought as he watched the scene unfolding before his eyes.

The first class of trainees of the Limen Church.

They were evaluated as C-class hunters until just two months ago.

Considering that the fighters of other large guilds mobilized for this Lost Land expedition were at least A-class hunters I judged that the first batch of trainees who still felt like rookies would not be able to show much activity in this expedition.

But as if to mock his judgment.

    Kwajijijijik-

    Kwaaaaaaaang!

    Break it! Break it!

The first batch of trainees of the Limen School were engaged in a truly vicious battle.

Skulls are shattered and blood is sprayed everywhere.

    ‘Everyone is crazy.’

Every time the knights on the front line swing their hammers Nol’s head gets crushed.

And the nols that nimbly slid between the knights had their necks snapped by the priests wearing black armor.

    A scene of pure violence.

Pope Kim Si-woo and Luna who could be said to be the greatest force in the Limen Church were not even deployed.

The two of them were watching the battle from the side with their arms linked.

“Your Majesty I think it was the best decision to equip those who chose to be priests with light armor.”

“You should invest boldly while you still have the money. They’re not as strong as us yet. If you get stabbed by them you’ll die.”

“Will our chicks be able to repel knives with their skin someday?”

“Of course. As a fighter of the Limen Sect that’s what you have to do.”

Director Kim felt confused by the conversation between the two.

    Skin that repels knives.

Rather than being priests who follow the will of God isn’t this a state more suitable for shamans?

But what’s even scarier is that Director Kim was nodding along to those words without even realizing it.

    Wake up! Wake up!

The screams of the children echoed from all directions.

The sight of the kids who had initially rushed in with great enthusiasm had already disappeared.

    ‘The monsters are so pitiful.’

It looks like the positions of humans and monsters have been completely reversed.

The fearful Noldos were trying to survive somehow by hiding and the students of the Limen Sect would not leave them alone.

The knights clad in thick armor surrounded the gnolls in unison arms reaching out from between the knights and grabbing the gnolls’ necks.

    Wood thud thud-

    Wood crunch.

The necks of the nols caught in the hands of the priests were broken as easily as wooden chopsticks.

The cornered Noldos counterattacked fiercely but their weapons were unable to even scratch the trainees’ equipment.

However variables can arise at any time.

    “Hey!”

A terrified Gnoll’s spear swung and sunk into the shoulder of a priest.

It was the seam of the armor.

However Director Kim was once again at a loss for words when he saw the priest’s reaction that followed.

    Wood crunch!

The priest whose shoulder had been pierced by a spear instead gripped the spear shaft tightly with his left hand and grabbed Nol’s head with his remaining right hand.

Then Nol’s head burst like a watermelon.

And that wasn’t the end of it.

After clearing out the enemy in front of him he pulled out the spear embedded in his shoulder with a blank expression and placed his hand on the affected area.

    Woohoo-.

A pure white light that can be seen from far away.

The priest used his divine power to perform simple emergency measures and then immediately rushed towards another play.

    ‘…those crazy guys.’

And then Director Kim started hearing a scary story again.

“Looking at the window reminds me of the old days. Do you remember that time? When I caught the Demon Dragon King.”

“Ah! That lizard kid! Of course I remember. Your Majesty you had a spear stuck in your chest back then right? You broke the Dragon King’s neck in that condition.”

“Wow if the window had been stuck just 1cm to the side it would have been instant death. Just thinking about it makes my heart tingle?”

“Hey Your Holiness. Which of the sect’s combatants hasn’t done that? Your Holiness have you ever been stabbed in the back with an axe three times in a row? I told you I almost died that time.”

“Do you see the scar on my stomach? This is what I did with the Demon King of Wrath…”

“Are you trying to see who gets stabbed more times?”

    “Oh I win. Good work.”

Director Kim couldn’t help but tremble as he listened to their story.

    ‘The craziest guys…’

    Our Pope please stop this
