    Episode 137

    5.

    The forest is burning.

Pure white flames devour the black trees fiercely.

    “…no.”

The elder watched the whole scene with half-mad eyes.

It’s been three years since they came to Earth.

The trees they have grown with great care and the beasts they have trained with great care.

Everything they had built was turning into a handful of ashes.

He believed he could convince her. But everything that was unfolding before his eyes now was the price he paid for his arrogance.

    ‘Where did it go wrong?’

I thought that those who serve God would reluctantly accept the offer.

I thought that they would not gamble with the lives of fellow human beings.

    But all expectations went awry.

“It’s probably because the weather is dry but it burns easily. That’s why you have to be careful of sparks when it’s dry. If you’re not careful a forest fire can start.”

A person who spits out nonsense right in front of your eyes.

The one who led himself and his clan to this world recently sent a servant to tell them about that human.

An apostle of God has appeared in the south so we must prepare.

As soon as the elder heard his words he made various preparations.

Human prisoners who were originally scheduled to be disposed of were kept alive and black magic circles were installed throughout the forest to prepare for the coming invasion.

Although the preparation period was short I thought I was fully prepared with the help of the magical forest.

    But at this moment

    Whoosh whoosh whoosh-.

Their preparations crumbled with inconceivable ease in the face of the pure white flames that engulfed the forest.

    “Ahhh.”

The elder could clearly hear the screams of his compatriots.

The trees fell and the compatriots who had been hiding under them fell to the ground engulfed in pure white fire.

    “Kkaaaaaaaaaaaa!”

    “Gyaaaaaaah!”

The warriors of the clan are rendered helpless.

Their bodies were on fire and they rolled around trying to put out the fire but each time they did the fire burned more fiercely.

A pure white flame that never goes out.

The flames rather consumed their screams and grew in strength.

The elder saw the sight and shouted urgently at the human.

“Don’t you care about the lives of other humans? If you do something like this….”

“It’s so so important. That’s why I’m paying you back.”

    “…what?”

“Haven’t you ever thought about how many people have died by your hands? You take prisoners cut off their vocal cords gag their mouths so they can’t commit suicide and then inject them with poison while they’re still alive to experiment on them. That’s what you’ve been doing for nearly three years.”

The human reached out and grabbed the elder’s chin.

The elder had no choice but to meet the man’s gaze.

    ‘How can a human….’

The ‘followers of God’ that the elder experienced in his world were all weak.

Those who cannot move forward on their own calling only on the name of God in any situation.

That was the image he remembered.

But I couldn’t see any of that in the human before my eyes.

In the man’s eyes there was no look of piety or sincerity that is usually shown by those who worship God.

The only thing that takes its place is hatred.

The elder felt a fear that was hard to express in the face of the hatred that could be called revenge. The fear that began to spread from his head quickly took over his entire body and froze the elder’s body.

“I don’t know what it was like in your world but in our world it was like this. That’s how war is. If you leave room for it you’ll definitely suffer later. Especially for a race like you who are steeped in demonic energy.”

“If you burn the forest like this… there’s no way the demons around here will stay still…”

“Tell him to come. No I want him to come. That’s right.”

    Kwaaaaaaaang-!

A pure white fireball stretched out from the human’s hand and quickly spread to the right.

There were warriors who approached stealthily to rescue the elder and those who were hit by the fireballs were instantly turned into ash.

The elder looked at the ashes with vain eyes. And then a human voice pierced into the elder’s ears.

“You can get rid of all your trash in one place. I hate annoying things.”

It was a disaster and a calamity.

There is no way to stop this. Avoiding it and escaping would have been the only correct answer.

But it’s already too late to regret.

I thought about blowing myself up with the man by detonating the magic energy inside my body but the magic energy inside his body was already not listening to me.

“I am just giving back to you the same thing you did to the humans here.”

    “Heh…heh heh heh heh heh!”

    I burst out laughing.

In the midst of the despair of so many of his people dying the elder burst into loud laughter.

“It turns out that they are humans who are worse than us. Do you not care about the death of your own kind?”

“He’s crazy. This is a great cure for crazy.”

    Wood thud-.

    “Kuaaaah!”

The elder’s right arm and right leg were twisted in a bizarre way.

There was terrible pain and a human voice dug into that pain.

“Who said we would give up the hostages?”

“By now! The soldiers…will have taken your prisoners….”

    “You’re just around the corner.”

In the distance in my vision blurred by pain a group of people were walking towards me.

The elder looked at them with his eyes wide open.

    Three humans.

They mercilessly cut down the rushing warriors with their axes smashed them with their hammers and approached them while folding them in half.

And after blinking a few times they had already arrived in front of the elder.

“I found a cave in the center where about 40 survivors were gathered and cleaned it up perfectly.”

The human woman spoke wiping the blood off her hammer.

After hearing those words the Pope turned his gaze back to the elder.

And then he grabbed the elder’s pointed ear who had fallen to the floor and whispered softly.

“What should I do? I’m a lucky person. I heard that all the hostages have been rescued. So what’s left for you?”

“Burning to death with the forest-.”

    “Oh like that.”

After a while a desperate story rang in the elder’s ears.

“Do you really think we didn’t know about your dark magic?”

A hell with no escape awaited him.

    6.

There was a cinematic video for a certain game a long time ago.

Footage shows a huge tree burning and screams echoing all around.

The scene unfolding before me now was not much different from that video back then.

The only difference is that it is hypothetical and this is something that actually happens.

    “You’re good at riding.”

Aiden standing next to me nodded as he looked at the trees burning white.

Aiden’s upper body was stained with dark elf blood as if to prove his fighting style.

I took off my gauntlets and flicked my fingers at the guy.

    Woohoooooo-.

The divine power flowing from my fingers cleanly cleaned up the blood on the guy’s upper body.

The blessing of purity that I usually use.

Aiden said checking his body briefly.

    “It’s a handy ability.”

“It’s a precious ability that allows me to carry myself properly as a priest. I can’t take the survivors away while covered in blood right?”

    “That’s true too.”

The boy nodded slightly. He continued talking nodding to the dark elf elder who was writhing on the floor.

“What does that guy plan to do?”

“Magi has been sealed perfectly and will be taken away in that state.”

“Are you saying we’re going to put them on the helicopter with the survivors?”

“What are you talking about? Of course you should hang it outside the helicopter. If you tie it tightly with a rope there shouldn’t be a problem.”

Aiden was silent for about five seconds after hearing my answer. It seemed like he needed some time to admire the idea which was so creative.

“…Then what are you going to do with him after taking him away?”

“First we need to extract all the information and then we need to hand over the rights to the survivors. They will be able to choose this guy’s fate.”

Either kill them outright or hand them over to a research institute for physical experiments.

From that area onwards it was the survivors’ share.

They are probably the ones who hold a grudge against this guy more than anyone else.

Aiden scratched his chin after hearing my answer.

“We have to convince the survivors to take us to Area 51.”

“What on earth is in Area 51?”

“Haha it’s a secret. Since the opening of Dimension there’s been a new mission assigned to Area 51. This guy seems like he’d make a great test subject.”

I heard that they were conducting various experiments on monsters and it seems that it was true.

But I firmly waved my hand.

“We won’t send it to the United States.”

    “why?”

“Don’t I know what you guys are going to do with this guy? I don’t know if he’s dead but I can’t hand him over alive.”

“I thought we became friends through this operation didn’t I?”

“We’ve become close. But that’s a separate issue. I still have doubts about whether you guys can completely control this guy.”

Even though I have completely sealed the magic this dark elf elder possesses magic on a level of demons.

This time the opponent was bad but he was someone who would definitely cause a big accident if left alone.

I’ll leave it up to the survivors to decide but if I were to do something with them alive it had to happen somewhere close to me.

So that I can have control.

“Oh I see. Are you sending a researcher?”

“Let’s think about that later. The survivors might ask us to kill this guy.”

“Well the problem with these guys isn’t whether they’re alive or dead. The problem is how to kill them.”

“You have a good grasp of the essence of the problem.”

“Because we’re friends. Friends get along well. Don’t you think so?”

I deliberately did not answer the last question.

I shrugged and turned my gaze back to the blazing forest.

    “You ride well.”

Before we knew it the Holy Fire was burning everything around it.

It was as if he was trying to purge all the magic deeply embedded in this land.

“It will be a fertile land.”

They say that the most fun thing in the world is watching fireworks.

Luna and Leo were also following me to watch the torch.

    “It has become sacred ground.”

If this forest is completely burned down by the Holy Fire the magic that has been encroaching upon the land will disappear.

Only traces of the Holy Fire would remain in that place meaning that life would soon bloom again on this land.

As Luna said it will turn into a fertile land a blessed land.

“Your Majesty. But this time what’s wrong with the suspicion rate or something?”

    “Yeah. It’s quiet.”

    “thank god.”

I don’t know if it’s because I brought several colleagues but the only thing I was worried about was neatly resolved.

To be honest I was a little worried when I set fire to it.

Has the standard been raised as the number of believers rapidly increased?

    anyway.

In this way the Holy Fire quickly eliminated the traces of the dark elves that remained here and no longer any sign of the dark elves could be felt in the surrounding area.

The only survivor is an elder.

“Let’s slowly collect the survivors and go back. It’ll be over soon.”

“There are quite a lot of survivors and they are spread out so how are we going to move them? It seems like it would take quite some time to move them one by one.”

    Aiden’s sharp observation.

It was sharp but there was a solution. All you had to do was change your thinking.

I said pointing to the sky.

“Just move the helicopter towards the cave where the survivors are. The trees have already been burned down.”

Thanks to the torch burning down the trees this once forested area has become an open space with a clear view.

It meant that the environment was such that helicopters could land at any time.

“And if you feel like it’s not enough just tell me and I’ll make you a thousand makeshift landing pads.”

“Simple is best. That’s a good idea.”

Aiden nodded as if he was satisfied. I smiled happily at Aiden.

“I’m going to be late. Come back quickly.”

    “…where?”

“I have to call a helicopter here. There’s no communication so should I go there myself?”

“Can you order your subordinates around…”

“Hey healers you should stay and heal the survivors. Isn’t that just common sense?”

If you twist it you will awaken divine power.

    Isn’t that right?

    Our Pope please stop this
