Somebody Stop the Pope – 134

Episode 134
5.
Doo doo doo doo doo.
The helicopter with all personnel on board took off immediately.
The time was already 5pm. Because it was winter the sun set early so our goal was to rescue all the survivors and return before the sun completely set.
Certainly the noise level of the Chinook was much louder than that of the Black Hawk and it was only after the interior of the transport compartment was isolated with divine power that it became quiet.
“Hmm.”
I was sitting in the helicopter’s transport seat fiddling with my gauntlet. Then Junwoo who had been watching me with a tense expression said something.
“It seems like you’ve been using knuckles and gauntlets a lot lately.”
“The performance is really good. Is it because Toby made it for you? Oh Junwoo you asked Toby to make you a kendo right?”
“Yes. Toby promised to pick a cool guy.”
“You can look forward to it. Although Toby likes to drink he is the best blacksmith I know.”
Junwoo nodded his head with a faint smile at my words.
As you can see from the titles I use for him Junwoo is successfully blending in with the Limen sect.
Since he was also good at imparting practical experience to new trainees I asked Toby to make Junwoo’s equipment as well.
Equipment made by Eden’s best blacksmith.
What could be more attractive to a hunter than providing them with a piece of gear that could potentially save their life?
I smiled at Junwoo.
“Still thank you for willingly participating in this operation.”
“No. As a member of the Limen Sect it was an operation I should have participated in. Rather I am honored that you allowed me to participate.”
“Oh my thank you for just saying that.”
It is a joyous thing to see outsiders successfully join our church family.
People working in religious organizations do not necessarily have to be believers armed with strong faith.
This is also the case for Mr. Jiwon Park who is currently teaching business administration to Archbishop Lapart and serving as a management advisor to the diocese.
A relationship where you receive help if you have the ability.
It was the same in Eden.

Our church is surprisingly tolerant in that regard.
As we talked like that and lightened the mood Junwoo smiled and asked me.
“By the way Your Holiness I heard you used knuckles during the last exchange but is there a reason you’re using gauntlets today?”
“Of course. In fact there are some very important details.”
“Important details?”
I shook the gauntlet gently and raised the corners of my mouth.
“When you just need to take care of a few use the knuckles. When you need to destroy them all use the gauntlet. How about that? Easy to understand right?”
“…What difference does that make…”
“Look. If you wear knuckles and break a monster’s head the brain will be covered in blood and your hands will be covered in it. But if you wear gauntlets? It’s a really clean way to deal with it. You just need to evaporate the blood on the gauntlets with the Holy Fire.”
In fact this was a very important factor.
How cleanly you can clear out countless enemies was the most important thing I thought about during my ten years in Eden.
Because the experience of being covered in blood at the end of every battle was extremely unpleasant.
However there was something strange about my kind explanation and Junwoo who had been smiling faintly just a moment ago froze.
His expression turned pale as if he was afraid of something.
“Mr. Junwoo?”
“Yes…yes?”
“Are you feeling motion sickness? Your complexion has suddenly gotten worse.”
“…I guess it’s because the helicopter was shaking just now.”
“weird.”
I’ve created a sacred barrier with the highest grade sacred stones so it won’t be shaken by the wind.
It seems that the burden of passing through the lost land by helicopter is weighing on his shoulders.
I scratched the ball lightly with my finger.
And he continued speaking humorously.
“Anyway think of this operation as a leisurely picnic. There won’t be any major difficulties.”
The dark elves our supposed opponents are clearly one of the dangerous alien races.
In fact in Eden you could often find units that were annihilated by the dark elves.
Their main weapon is poison fog which uses poison or black magic that uses poison.
Dark Elves are a race that deserves recognition for their ability to kill large numbers of people.
But that’s all.
They are only fatal to those who have not developed magical or divine powers and to those who have reached a certain level they are just pathetic bastards.
“And the compatibility is good. Remember the necklace I gave you before you left?”
“Yes I’m still wearing it.”
“Just having it will purify the surrounding poison. Think of it as a kind of gas mask.”
At least there will be no harm from poisoning.
As I was telling Junwoo what to watch out for in the battle against the dark elves I heard Aiden’s voice through the headset I was wearing.
-Siwoo. Can you hear me?
“Oh tell me.”

– We’ve almost reached our destination. But it doesn’t seem like there’s a proper place to land. Do you have a separate plan for this situation? I don’t think there’s any separate airborne training.
There is no suitable place to land.
It was certainly the same when I was scouting earlier. This area was filled with black forests that were clearly created by the dark elves themselves.
The trees tainted by magic are themselves the home of dark elves and an excellent hideout.
I answered straight to Aiden over the headset.
“All we have to do is secure the landing point.”
-Yes.
“It would have to be a pretty large open space to land four helicopters this big.”
-Hmm did you find a suitable location this morning? That’s good. Tell the pilots the location quickly.
“Oh I didn’t look for it separately I just need to make it now.”
-…You’re making it?
“Uh. Wait a minute.”
-How to make….
I lightly ignored Aiden’s words and immediately spoke into the headset to the pilot of the helicopter I was riding.
“Captain did you hear that? Open this door please.”
-If you look closely the parachute is next to the seat….
“Actually I’ve never used a parachute before so it’s a little uncomfortable. It’s okay so please open the door.”
-yes?
“It’s really okay. I’ll let you know by opening it.”
After I had perfectly conveyed my message to the captain I immediately took off the headset I was wearing.
And then I smiled at Junwoo who was staring blankly at me in front of me.
“Mr. Junwoo please wait here for a moment.”
“Parachute… You should bring a parachute. It’s easier to use than you think…”
“Hey I’m falling naked to gain acceleration but wouldn’t it be fun if I had a parachute?”
Wheeeeeeeeing.
But the helicopter captain listened to me and eventually opened the back door.
As the helicopter door opened the sight of the ground covered in black leaves came into view.
A forest that is particularly dense compared to other regions.
I put on the gauntlets on both hands while looking at the forest. The heavy feeling was superb and they felt great to wear.
This completes the preparations.
Now is the time to descend.
“See you later.”
“Your Holiness the Pope?”
I waved to Junwoo and then ran straight out the door.
Then soon
Wheeeeeeeeeeing!
The sound of a strong wind began to hit my ears.
Today is a clear day without a single cloud. Everything on the ground is starting to come into view at a glance.
I quickly drew up my divine powers while enjoying the clear view and spread them around me creating a thick protective shield.
[The effect of the passive skill <Divine Protection Lv. Max> is maximized.]
[Consume divine power to prepare for the impending shock!]
In any case there is a high possibility that the dark elves on the ground noticed our presence because of the helicopter.
The most effective way to do this is to give them a big hit before they even realize what’s going on.
I poured divine power into the gauntlets on both hands.
Woof woof woof woof!
The gauntlet began to vibrate violently and soon a pure white flame burst out from its surface.
The sacred fire wrapped around my body in an instant. And I looked at the ground approaching at a rapid pace with the sacred fire wrapped around my entire body slightly raising the corners of my mouth.
“This is my first greeting you dark-skinned bastards.”
After a while.
“Superhero Landing.”
Kwaaaaaaaaaaahh …
The shockwave that spread out from my body as I landed began to engulf everything around me with tremendous force.
6.
A meteorite fell out of nowhere onto the ground.
Aiden thought so.
“That crazy guy.”
The scene that Kim Si-woo showed just now was a scene that he had never seen before in his life.
It was the same as the previous battle with Japan’s Yamata no Orochi where they moved by helicopter but the altitude was different.
An altitude so high that it would be impossible to jump without a parachute.
But that crazy pope jumped down naked seemingly oblivious to heights.
Its appearance was very similar to a meteorite.
A meteorite that was created from within the atmosphere rather than entering through the atmosphere.
The only difference between this meteorite and the ones in movies and dramas is that it burns like pure white flames.
-It’s like Armageddon Aiden. This is… Oh my god. Isn’t it just a missile? It’s not even magic…
The captain of the US military helicopter Aiden was on said in a terrified voice.
Even for a veteran captain who has been through thick and thin the scene that Kim Si-woo just showed was shocking.
“Captain. Do you know what Siwoo finds the most creepy?”
-…What is it?
“That guy thinks he’s sane. He thinks his subordinates are crazy and he’s the only sane person who can control them.”
Aiden couldn’t understand that part at all.
While he grumbles to his subordinates that they are crazy he himself does crazy things like ‘jumping out of a transport helicopter with his bare body’ and ‘turning himself into a meteorite’ without even taking a breath.
Of course it was already proven that most of the members of the Limen cult were abnormal in some way but in Aiden’s eyes Kim Si-woo was the craziest of them all.
“He’s the worst of the worst. A truly crazy person doesn’t know that he’s crazy. Si-woo is exactly like that.”
-Aiden.
“why?”
-So Aiden you like that guy?
Aiden raised the corners of his mouth at the captain’s words coming through the headset.
“As expected pilots are smart.”
-You are too kind.
“I’m serious. By the way… it seems like we’ve secured a safe landing spot just like Siwoo said.”
A huge crater had formed on the ground that had been filled only with trees.
Aiden could easily see that the crater was the ‘landing site’ that Siu had mentioned earlier.
“How about landing there?”
-Yes. It’s so big that I don’t think there will be any major problems. It seems bigger than most military bases.
After hearing the captain’s answer Aiden gave orders to each helicopter through the headset.
“Secure the landing point. Lower all aircraft altitudes and begin landing starting with aircraft number 1. Over.”
Since Si-Woo the commander-in-chief of the operation went down first the next commander in line was himself.
So he quickly gave orders to each helicopter and according to his orders the first helicopter with Kim Si-woo on board began to descend.
“Salvation.”
The name of this operation that Kim Si-woo had told him earlier.
Aiden nodded slowly repeating the name of the operation.
“Okay Captain. It’s time for us to land.”
-All right.
“I’ll be back later with a full complement of guests so stay alert even after landing. If you’re here to help your friend you should make sure you do it right right?”
-Of course Aiden. As soon as we land we’ll check the aircraft again. Then we’ll descend.
“okay.”
Aiden swept down the handle of his axe as he listened to the captain’s words.
“I’ll have fun today too.”
Because Kim Si-woo has never let him down even once.
The barbarian smiled with satisfaction.
Our Pope please stop this
