Somebody Stop the Pope – 128
by Jessie@AFNCC
Episode 128
6.
That afternoon Seungwoo showed his true colors as a saint.
There were four people including me gathered in my office and each of them was wearing a different outfit exuding strong personalities.
If Aiden had seen this.
“I guess you could call it the melting pot of religions?”
I’m sure he said something like that.
“Haha! I wish there were more opportunities like this. I can’t imagine how frustrating it would be to just stay in a temple. Isn’t that right everyone?”
“I think so too Monk Beopun.”
“A place where religious people can become friends! What an honorable and great place this is!”
Monk Beopun with whom I have kept in touch since we last met at the meeting on countermeasures for the horse army.
Next to him sat Pastor Seo Seong-shin whom he had met in Daejeon smiling and in front of him sat Father Hwang Kyo-seong with a kind smile.
The Pope of the Rimen Church the representative of Buddhism the saint of Protestantism the hope of Catholicism.
The origins of these four people coming together in one place can be traced back to a group chat room started one day by Monk Beopun.
A group of people who love religion. Also known as JongsaMo.
This will be a special gathering prepared by Monk Beopun who will invite and talk to people whose stocks are rising in each religious circle.
For reference 80% of the KakaoTalk messages in the group chat are from Monk Beopun.
I just occasionally lurk around.
However since it was an opportunity to interact with people of other religions I did not leave the group chat even though it was annoying.
The composition of the members is fine.
“Monk Beopun is always full of energy and it’s nice to see him.”
“I don’t know what to do with myself when our Father Hwang says that.”
Among the people gathered here the only person I have never met before Father Hwang Gyo-seong is someone who joined upon the strong recommendation of Monk Beopun.
Of course it is said that he is a person who has always done good deeds to the point that they are occasionally reported on the news although he has only met with people on a limited basis.
I also knew that since he awakened his divine powers he has been working tirelessly for the weak.
He is definitely a good person.

Although it was different from the divine power of our church I felt a pure and clean divine power from his body.
It also meant that he had a very devout faith.
I looked at the faces of the people gathered in the office one by one and then got straight to the point.
“The reason why we have invited you who are busy with your work to this gathering is very simple. Our Limen Church plans to begin full-scale healing services starting tomorrow.”
“Through the Awakened Ones?”
“Yes I think so. I realized something today. I felt embarrassed to stay still.”
The heart of a young saint for the people.
How can we as adults just sit back and do nothing when that cute little guy is so special?
But as Luna said it is difficult to cover the entire situation with just the players of our church.
In this case the right answer is to increase the scale significantly.
“We plan to periodically dispatch personnel to places that need divine help including hospitals. I understand that there are many people who are having a hard time right now because they are not receiving help.”
The other three people who heard me nodded at the same time.
I continued talking.
“But since our church’s manpower alone is a burden I would like to be with you all.”
Those gathered here were those who could exert sufficient influence in each religious community.
Of course there is the monk Beopun who is called the representative player of Buddhism and also the pastor Seongshin Seo who has recently had the strongest voice in Protestantism.
There is even Father Hwang Kyo-seong who is respected by many.
If I can convince just these people I don’t have to appeal to each religious group.
“I would like you to join us. I think this is a great opportunity to raise the value of religion to a higher level. In addition….”
Just as he was about to explain to the divine players how good the healing service was Monk Beopun quietly raised his right hand.
“I’m sorry to interrupt but I don’t think Pope Kim needs to convince us.”
“yes?”
“I think so too and it seems like everyone else has already made their decision.”
As he said this Monk Beopun smiled at the other two.
“What Monk Beopun said is correct. Your Holiness. As a religious person how can I refuse the offer to help those in need?”
This is Pastor Seo’s reaction.
“I have always wondered how I could help more people. It is an offer that I cannot refuse even as a fellow human being regardless of the religious framework.”
This is Father Hwang’s reaction.
They didn’t need any further explanation. They just looked at me and smiled.
“It’s a much prettier picture to join hands and help someone than to always fight over who is better. Haha! Neither Buddha nor God would want to fight.”
The rest of us including myself raised the corners of our mouths at the same time at Monk Beopun’s humor.
Things turned out much better than I expected.
I had prepared various words to persuade them but it seems there was no need to do so.
I cleared my throat slightly and spoke to them.
“And I would like to share with you the knowledge that the Limen Order possesses that is necessary for healing. We are experts in healing using divine power.”
Our church has accumulated practical experience from many years of war.
Of course there has been sufficient research on how to effectively treat the condition including emergency measures.

Sharing this level of knowledge wouldn’t be a big deal.
Even if it was just the ‘preemptive healing method’ that Luna taught our new trainees it wouldn’t have been difficult to pass on tips for utilizing divine power.
It would be good to pay off debts to established religions in advance.
To what extent does it reflect President Seo’s international political theory?
“Our established religions have not done anything for the Limen sect so what will be left if you share so generously?”
A question from Father Hwang who had been quietly watching me.
I answered his question with a soft smile.
“I will have friends who can walk together toward good values.”
7.
The result of the sudden lightning meeting was a success.
Everyone present agreed with my opinion and said they would positively consider our church’s proposal.
It was an offer they couldn’t refuse even though it was a review.
Because what the established religions of the Earth lacked was knowledge of divine power.
In the meantime our church offered to do good work together and share some knowledge so it was an offer they had no reason to refuse.
anyway.
So the meeting ended and I sat in my chair in the office and thought about what Father Hwang Kyo-seong had said.
– A delegation from the Holy See will be visiting Korea soon. It seems that they will need to seek advice from the Limen Church. I am telling you this because I want you to know.
“The Vatican.”
I think an unexpected guest might show up.
He didn’t give a detailed schedule but he said he plans to visit within three months at the latest.
I don’t think it’s for an ordinary reason.
Those who can be called the leaders of the Catholic Church would not move for personal reasons.
I’ve always wanted to talk to you but I was quite interested when you said you wanted to come to me in person.
“Still something is missing.”
Luna who had entered the office without realizing it took a bite of her ice cream and said:
“what?”
“I feel like we are handing over the experience our church has accumulated too easily.”
I could completely empathize with Luna’s regret at some point.
How to heal people effectively.
Because it was knowledge that our Limen sect acquired through shedding blood in Eden.
As someone who had been fighting on the front lines of a terrible battlefield and witnessed everything it was only natural that Luna would express her dissatisfaction.
But Luna didn’t just grumble but also opposed my wishes. At least Luna knew what was more important.
“I think you have a rough idea of the reason right?”
“I say this because I feel regretful. Because I feel regretful.”
“Luna.”
“Your Majesty.”
“Don’t worry it won’t be as damaging as you think.”
I said leaning back against the backrest.
“As you said it’s difficult for our church to handle everything with just its power. If we share our knowledge we can save more people but if we just wait and see because of our church’s position… That’s something we shouldn’t do as we follow Limen’s will.”
There is nothing wrong with pursuing profit.
However it is something that needs to be clearly distinguished. It is okay to pursue profit as well but it is not something that the religious order should pursue solely for profit.
“It’s not like we couldn’t find our place like before and we’ve successfully established ourselves at this point. Anyway players from other religions will level up over time so let’s think of it as us bringing that period forward a little.”
Sometimes giving pays off.
I think now is the time.
“Sharing knowledge with them doesn’t mean our sect loses its uniqueness. Aside from the Baekmyeong Church we are the only ones who directly train combatants.”
“So what Your Majesty said is this? We’ll get to that point anyway so let’s help out a little and make it more colorful.”
“Similar. Rather than being a show-off let’s help each other out. What’s good is good.”
“If you look closely our His Holiness is talented in politics. How about we create something like a Limen Party? There will probably be quite a few people who can help. I think His Holiness would really do well…”
“You always talk nonsense whenever you get a chance. Anyway you should prepare yourself slowly.”
Luna’s eyes widened at my words.
“Ready? What are you ready for?”
“They are not our parishioners so I can’t teach them myself. Of course the education staff will have to work hard. I have already told Archbishop Laparte separately so please talk to him.”
It was decided to select five people each from Buddhism Protestantism and Catholicism and send them to our religious order’s training center.
The training will be conducted together with trainees from our church.
Of course combat training is excluded.
We decided to focus on theoretical and practical classes on divine power.
“You always pass on the annoying stuff to us don’t you? What are you going to do if Leo and I go on strike?”
“Try it.”
“yes?”
“If you want to go on strike go for it. It’ll be really fun.”
Luna stared at my face and quickly got up from her seat.
“I will become a Luna Reventon who works hard day and night!”
“Okay go ahead.”
“yes!”
Do you really have to apply pressure like this to make them come to their senses?
I glanced at Luna’s back as she walked out of the office then leaned back against the chair with a smirk.
What Seungwoo started as a favor has grown into something quite large. Still I am sure that Limen will be happy with the decision I made today.
Surely if Limen had seen it he would have praised it.
I don’t know about anything else but it felt really good to be praised by Limen.
He’s the one who kidnapped me to Eden. Could this be Stockholm Syndrome or something?
Anyway I feel a bit disappointed because we haven’t been in touch again.
Maybe the thing I told you about last time isn’t going well. It’s something to do with the divinity of the other world.
“Phew.”
So I leaned back against the backrest and closed my eyes for a moment. I had taken care of the urgent matters so I could rest for a moment…
Kwarruruk.
“Please take a break.”
It seems like rest is a luxury for me because as soon as I closed my eyes a strange sound came from next to me.
The cause of the strange noise is none other than the bottle containing the <Wriggling Piece>.
I looked at the bottle with a sigh.
Then a new message window appeared before my eyes.
[<Wriggling Piece>]
*Growth rate: 100%
It was at 97% until this morning but for some reason it became 100%.
The piece which had finished growing took the shape of a compass as expected its needle pointing to the northeast.
And after a while several more message windows appeared before my eyes.
[<The Wriggling Piece>’s growth has been completed.]
[The scenario quest <Ancient Fragment> begins.]
A quest message that appeared after a long time.
I checked the quest window following that message and could only sigh.
“…That’s how I am.”
I thought it was a bit quiet lately.
Sigh.
Our Pope please stop this
