    Episode 116

    5.

    Wang Wei.

As expected from someone called a Chinese Irregular no magical power was felt from his body.

Instead an energy similar to magic could be felt from around the navel.

A similar starting point to magic but much more compressed.

However the energy was not entirely pure. It was mixed with impurities forming a gray aura.

Of course it was a color only visible to my eyes.

“Be thankful that this is a place for celebration. If it were any other place I would have taught you the etiquette of respecting elders and the rules of conduct for the strong.”

There were only two things that could be felt from Wang Wei’s voice.

    Pride and discomfort.

It might be arrogance that comes from overconfidence in my own abilities and it might be a feeling of discomfort that I feel because I am not intimidated by myself.

I raised the corners of my mouth without saying anything.

The man standing next to Wang Wei said perhaps dissatisfied with my attitude.

“Master Wang Wei is talking to you…”

“His Majesty does not permit your interference. Do not interfere recklessly. And be polite non-believer.”

It was none other than Leo who stopped him.

Leo remained silent while I was talking to Wang Wei but he didn’t let anyone else interfere.

Leo’s eyes had already turned cold. Furthermore judging by the way he was drawing divine power into his hands he was ready to ‘fold’ the opponent at any moment.

A tense situation where a fight could break out at any moment.

It was Wang Wei who broke the suffocating standoff and spoke first.

“I heard that you ignored our offer. I will teach you a lesson as an adult. The most foolish thing in the world is to maintain a petty pride. A leader must know how to bend himself for a greater cause.”

    “Hey Mr. Wang.”

    “…Mr. Wang?”

“Wang Wei you say? Then you must be Wang. I’m only treating you as a guest now so shut up and go back to your seat. When you leave tell Minister Yu that I’m grateful. Your dentures are being preserved because he asked you to.”

I didn’t feel like fighting right now either. The rice wasn’t cooked yet and was too soft to eat. It was time to let it rest.

A threat from that kind of guy?

It wasn’t scary at all. It was more scary to see Aiden running at me naked.

“I don’t know if there is a saying like this in China but do you know the saying “Barking dogs don’t bite”?”

    “Yes Ino…..”

    “Are you really confident?”

I looked at Wang Wei with a smile.

Wang Wei’s face was already as red as a ripe persimmon. If you look closely it looked like the color of the soup in mala-tang.

Despite my blatant ignorance Wang Wei said nothing more.

He just glares at me with eyes that seem like he’s going to kill me.

Wang Wei glared at me like that for a long time and Minister Yoo Seon-ho who had been quietly watching our war of nerves approached us.

“Both of you seem to prefer a rough introduction. I am late in introducing myself Wang Wei the Awakened One. I am Yoo Seon-ho the Director of the Ability Management Department.”

When talking to me I was able to communicate easily because I was blessed with the <Blessing of Language> but the blessing could not be applied to Minister Yoo Seon-ho.

So Wang Wei answered only after the interpreter next to him had interpreted for him.

“Wang Weiyo from the International Cooperation Bureau of the People’s Republic of China.”

“Wouldn’t this be a good opportunity to promote friendship among the countries of Northeast Asia? I hope you can put off assessing each other’s strengths for later and enjoy yourself leisurely today before heading back.”

It was a roundabout way of asking them not to cause any more trouble.

It was an intervention that took place at an appropriate time.

It’s hard to say who did better since both sides exchanged insults at least once.

In the end Wang Wei had no choice but to step back with a frown.

“I don’t know if there’s anything I can enjoy in a place like this but I’ll step down just to see Minister Yoo’s face.”

It would have been fun even if we had just left it alone.

I licked my lips in regret. Then I looked at the woman trembling behind Wang Wei.

The woman who came to the temple last time Li Ji. As soon as our eyes met she quickly lowered her head.

“We see each other again. I heard you decided to be friends with Luna? I’ll tell Luna that you’re back in Korea. She’s been bored lately so that’s good. I’ll visit you soon so save some time.”

I don’t know what happened between Luna and that woman but it definitely wasn’t something out of the ordinary.

    Otherwise

    dump-.

There was no way his legs would loosen up like that when he heard Luna’s name.

    “Mr. Lee Jie!”

    “Why all of a sudden…..”

The Chinese delegation entered the guest house with great pride and then openly showed their disgrace.

Wang Wei who had been watching the farce with his own two eyes gritted his teeth and spoke to me.

“What on earth are you doing to my subordinates….”

    “Ask me.”

“…Let’s see if you can spar with me and still be that confident.”

There is something like that among the typical clichés of villains.

Among the kids who say they’ll just wait and see there isn’t a single kid worth watching.

I turned around and laughed as I watched the Chinese Awakened people heading back to their seats.

    “You idiots.”

    China’s Irregular Wang Wei.

Since you said you were using a sword maybe if you picked up a sword the momentum might change.

    But to that extent…

    “Aiden.”

    “Why Siwoo.”

    “You are better.”

    “That’s a given.”

Even Aiden who had been observing this scene while eating popcorn didn’t seem like he would be able to win.

It might have been a big hit in China but at least it was to my eyes.

“That kid is just a bubble.”

Aiden responded by slapping his knee.

“Bubble? You mean bubble? If you think about it that way Siwoo you’re a bubble too.”

    “what?”

    “Unbelievable. Hahaha.”

Look at the look of pride on his own drip.

Should I just close my eyes and hit him?

    6.

The atmosphere of the welcoming ceremony that followed my clash with Wang Wei could not have been good.

The Chinese Awakened were only talking among themselves and most of the Japanese Awakened were the same.

Only Jinyoung Hyung occasionally shows his face on the Korean side.

That kind of atmosphere is inevitable because the awakened people gathered here have ultimately come to fight for the honor of their country.

The exchange is just an excuse.

This is because everyone knew that the outcome of this exchange would reorganize the situation in Northeast Asia.

That is why of the three countries Japan was the most gloomy.

    Because they had no irregulars.

Rather than coming to win in the first place they were mostly there to add some show.

In fact among the Japanese delegation Jinyoung was the only disaster-level returnee.

I heard that there are a total of five disaster-level returnees in Japan.

“The busiest person here today is Minister Yoo.”

“Even though the atmosphere is like this diplomacy must continue. I think the diplomatic practitioners have come prepared.”

As Aiden said diplomacy was a separate domain.

Unlike the awakened ones who tried not to mix with each other the practitioners were constantly talking.

They too were having their own fierce battle.

“From my perspective there seems to be no point in having an exchange. The outcome is too obvious.”

    “Who wins?”

“Of course it’s the Korean side. Siu Luna Leo. I think this lineup is problematic. And that’s not all. The fourth is my friend Seo Jin and the fifth is Kang Chae Ah over there. Honestly isn’t this a lineup without conscience?”

It has been confirmed that all five matches will be played regardless of the results as the match is for the purpose of exchange.

The members on the Korean side have also been confirmed.

As Aiden said our lineup includes the three members of our church including CEO Choi and Kang Chae-ah.

All the players ranked higher than CEO Choi declared a boycott of this exchange because their house was on fire.

By the way I haven’t seen CEO Choi today. Did he say he had a family event?

“Siu. Do you know who the man next to Wang Wei is?”

I think he’s talking about the guy who was stopped by Leo.

“How do I know Chinese people?”

“Zhang Min. He is a disaster-level returnee that Wang Wei cherishes. He will probably be the second.”

The number one in each country is obviously me and Wang Wei.

Number 2 on our side is Leo.

Coincidentally I ended up sparring with the same member I had clashed with earlier.

    “Leo.”

    “Yes Your Majesty.”

“When you saw it how many minutes do you think you could finish that guy off?”

    Then Leo answered firmly.

    “One minute is enough.”

“It’s taking longer than I thought.”

“It seems like it would take 10 seconds to fold it but since it’s a duel it needs to be unfolded again. It would take 10 seconds to fold it and about 50 seconds to unfold it. Folding and unfolding it is a bit of a laborious task.”

At this point I wonder if Leo really thinks of people as pieces of paper.

Leo was kind enough to even offer to spread it out for me.

    And Leo’s words were true.

Even to me if that guy from before and Leo fought each other it seemed like Leo would win by an overwhelming margin.

If we were to express Leo’s power in Earth’s terms it would be somewhere between Disaster and Irregular.

What’s certain is that Leo was much stronger than that guy named Jang Min or the guy I dealt with last time Eunhyuk Lee.

If you compare it to Wang Wei… Well I’m not sure. I wish I had seen Wang Wei give it his all at least once.

“By the way Siwoo. Can I ask you something?”

Aiden chugged the entire bottle of champagne and wiped his mouth with the sleeve of his shirt as he spoke.

    “What question?”

“Who is stronger Luna or Leo?”

“Why are you curious about that?”

“I like mom and I like dad. That’s the feeling.”

It was a question I never expected but it was Leo who answered it for me.

“Lord Reventon is stronger than me.”

    “okay?”

    “yes.”

Aiden frowned slightly at Leo’s answer as if he was taken aback.

“It’s not fun. Isn’t it normal for siblings to bicker and fight? Maybe it’s because they’re step siblings but it’s not that fun.”

“While her combat prowess is comparable it is on the battlefield where she must face multiple opponents that the grace bestowed upon Lord Reventon truly shines. She can imbue everything she touches with divine powers which is a huge advantage on the battlefield.”

Hearing those words I suddenly remembered the last battle I had fought against the legions led by the Demon King of Wrath.

At that time there was a modern-day chariot and a magical weapon that felt like a cyborg created by the combined efforts of the continent’s magicians.

It was a weapon that had solid performance but was difficult to operate but after Luna consecrated the weapon she freely controlled it and swept away the demons and beasts.

In other words if you have a weapon or weaponry with decent performance Luna’s fighting power will be doubled.

Strategic bombers and next-generation tanks that have gained divine power through consecration.

There was a high possibility that Luna’s abilities would have a very good synergy effect with modern advanced weapon systems.

    “I see.”

Aiden seemed to fully understand what Leo was saying.

“That’s one of the most active researches being done in the US. Using modern weapon systems to fight monsters. It’s currently impossible for various reasons but they’re rapidly improving weapons using magic stones. Magic engineering? I think that’s what it’s called.”

“That kind of thing is usually confidential.”

“So what? Everyone who knows already knows. Luna-san should be more careful from now on. If she makes a mistake she might launch a ballistic missile. A ballistic missile imbued with divine power… There is no separate punishment from heaven.”

I don’t know if it’s possible to build a castle on a ballistic missile but I wanted to highly praise Aiden’s idea.

After this is over I should go and ask President Seo.

Can’t we experiment with missiles? If we can precisely strike the Purifiers’ bases with consecrated missiles wouldn’t that increase the sect’s options?

    anyway.

While we were spending time chatting about this and that Minister Yoo Seon-ho came back to us.

His expression was truly mysterious. It was a face that I couldn’t tell if it was good or bad.

Minister Yoo Seon-ho spoke in a composed voice.

“I have something to inform you. Due to strong requests from China the Northeast Asia Exchange Competition will be held behind closed doors instead of open.”

At those words I looked in the direction of the Chinese Awakeners.

And he said barely holding back his laughter.

“Those kids are scared of that.”

What kind of country are those guys?
