Chapter 46 Learning the Words-North School Tomb Raider’s Notes
by Jessie@AFNCCWalking here, the identity of the tomb’s owner becomes even more confusing.
A large portion of modern archaeologists do not admit that there was a prehistoric civilization before the Shang Dynasty because the age is too far back, and relying on the oracle bone inscriptions and the Nine Stacks of Seals and Six Stacks of Seals alone, it can be said to be as difficult as climbing up to the sky to find out about that lost civilization.
History is, thick, mysterious and deep.
Like this stone sculpture in front of me.
In fact, I have speculated, I guess this cave, it is possible that this vassal king of the early Western Zhou Dynasty, the place where horses were kept and stored.
After admiring the stone carvings for some time, Red and I continued to touch up. .??.
My left arm drooped and dared not strain, and every now and then I felt a pain that I gritted my teeth and forced myself to endure.
At the end of the walk, at the end of the cave is a pool of water.
The water was unclear and muddy, there was the occasional sound of falling water ticking around the area, which was completely sealed off all around, a dead end.
Our hopes, which had been so full before, were cooled for the most part at the sight of this pool of water.
I threw it with a small rock.
“Plop,” the sound was dull, and you could tell just by the sound that the water was deep.
“Sister Hong, it’s over, what should we do, we’ve come to a dead end, we can’t get out,” I had a hard time in my heart, and my speaking voice also appeared to be funereal.
The surface of the water was murky and it was impossible to see what was going on below, Sister Hong frowned, “Not necessarily, as far as I know, some underground rivers are interconnected, perhaps two thousand years ago, this was purely just a pit with no water.”
“I’d like to go down there and check it out, check it out,” Red told me of her thoughts.
“Don’t.” Looking at the pool of water in front of me, I started to panic inside for no reason.
One, because I’m afraid of water and don’t know water, and two, because I don’t know how deep this murky pool is, and I don’t know if there’s some weird stuff in the water. Not to mention I don’t know where the water will lead to underneath.
Probably guessing my concern, Sister Hong sighed: “Hey, we are crossing the river by touching the stones, if we don’t have a way to find Boss Lao San and the others, sooner or later we will have to
Starve to death here.”
Sister Hong undid her own clothes, she was generous and didn’t avoid me as a man. I also dare not look.
“Yunfeng stay here, I’ll be up in a few minutes, watch the clothes for me,” Sister Hong said, testing the water temperature with her foot.
After saying her words, she plunged right in with a plop, splashing out quite a bit of water.
The water bubbled a bit and returned to calm.
I took Red’s clothes and lay on my back at the edge of the pool of water, my eyes staring unblinkingly at the surface. The sweat on my hands was nervous.
The sound of dripping water ticking all around was like a clock going by.
Time, minute by minute.
A minute blinks by.
Two minutes.
Three minutes.
Still not a single ripple in the water.
Just as I was getting antsy, a layer of blisters rose above the water.
A sound of water coming out.
Red burrowed out of the water in a flash, gasping for air.
Upon disembarking, the joy on Red’s face was unmistakable.
“That’s right . Yun Feng we guessed right!” Sister Hong wiped her face and said excitedly, “Below is actually an upward stone passageway with steps, there was no water here more than two thousand years ago, probably because of the earthquake that caused the underground river to back up and flood the place completely.”
“I predicted that I could swim out in about four minutes or so with my breath closed.”
“Four minutes?”
I frowned, “I can’t Sister Hong, I can’t hold my breath for that long, besides I can’t use my hand to make it strong,” I pointed down to the injured area for her to see.
Sister Hong gave my arm a worried look, then finally gritted her teeth and said, “As before.
I’ll grab you and take you there, we still have the strength now, otherwise after a day or two, we won’t even have the strength to go into the water, and by then, we’ll just be stuck here waiting to die!”
“Rest and recover first,” cupping my face with both hands, she looked into my eyes with a serious face, “Yunfeng, you can do it, believe in yourself, you won’t die here, and neither will I.”
We then rested here, something Red didn’t say, but I knew in my heart that there was only one chance, and if we didn’t get out, we wouldn’t be able to get up.
Nervous, I lay on the ground with my eyes closed and kept taking deep breaths as I made my final preparations before entering the water.
After roughly one or two incense sticks of time, the space in here darkened.
