Chapter 39 – Peeping Tombs – Northern School Tomb Raider’s Notes
by Jessie@AFNCCLooking at the footprints left on the ground, I gulped nervously, and Sister Hong and Chen Jiansheng did not look good.
We’re being spied on here.
What’s even more frightening is that this thing doesn’t know if it’s a person or a ghost.
Which means that right now, here, there may be more than just the three of us. There’s something else.
Fear comes from the unknown, the more we think about it, the more we are afraid, and Chen Jiansheng does not dare to stagger.
“Chan . Chen earthworker, is there any chance that it’s someone from your gang, do you have any midget-type disabled people in your gang,” I tried to ask him.
“No,” Chen Jiansheng frowned: “Previously, apart from Chen Zhi Pot and I, all the other brothers were out of action, besides, we don’t have this kind of disabled person in our team.”
Suddenly happened this gear, we do not dare to rush, three people discussed, said in place to rest for a night to recover strength.
When we went to bed at night, a few of us took turns keeping watch, none of us dared to sleep all the way through, and when it was my turn, the point in time for me to keep watch was the period between 1:00 and 3:00 AM.
It was Chen Jiansheng who had gotten the fire going, using a fire cracker, and there were quite a few things that could burn here, and we had collected some twigs and wood that had rotted and dried out.
Our temporary resting place was next to the small mound of dirt, as there was relatively little vegetation in the area.
Keeping watch over the fire, about two o’clock in the latter part of the night, I was sleepy with fighting eyelids, but now that it was my turn to keep watch, I kept telling myself that I couldn’t sleep, and when I couldn’t bear it any longer I pinched the flesh of my thighs a few times as hard as I could.
Sister Hong and Chen Jiansheng are now asleep.
Two dry sticks of firewood were added, and I was still going strong, my head little by little.
“Pop,” suddenly the back of my head ate pain as I wondered who had hit me with a small piece of dirt.
Looking at the small clods of dirt rolling down at my feet, my sleepiness, in an instant, vanished without a trace.
A cold sweat broke out on my back, from the shock.
I craned my head back a little in the firelight.
I saw that a dwarf was standing on the ground thirty meters from me in front of me.
He carries a
large folded-brimmed hat, covered with a tattered black garment, which was all covered with earth and worn and old, as if it had been stripped from the dead
“Dreaming, dreaming, definitely dreaming,” I pinched my tiger’s mouth as hard as I could and a wave of pain came over me.
“Snap,” the dwarf threw dirt clods at me again, this time missing me because of his poor aim.
I stepped backward in fear. Little by little, backed up to Chen Jiansheng’s side.
Not daring to speak, I touched Chen Jiansheng, trying to wake him up.
He didn’t respond at first, so I got antsy and pinched him.
“What are you doing kid, what’s wrong with you.” He woke up with me choking him.
I blushed miserably and looked at him, pointing quietly behind myself.
In his sleepy eyes, Chen Jian Sheng glanced behind me.
Quickly, he rubbed his eyes vigorously.
We’re face to face. I can see it clearly.
His face swished white.
Chen Jiansheng lowered his head, his lips trembling as he said, “Don’t say anything, go to sleep and pretend you didn’t see anything.” After saying this, he directly laid down on the ground and closed his eyes.
There was no talk all night.
The next morning.
“You guys didn’t get any rest last night? Look so ugly?” Sister Hong asked.
I’m blushing now, and Chen Jiansheng is about the same, because last night, we both saw that thing.
I’ve been hesitant to tell Sister Hong about this.
This is something that came out of Chen Jiansheng’s mouth.
After hearing him finish last night’s encounter, Sister Hong twisted her head to look at me and asked with a frown, “Yunfeng, is it true?”
I clenched my fists and nodded.
Chen Jiansheng looked around with a gloomy face, he lowered his voice and said: ”I just feel strange, I
The battle-axe buried before couldn’t have grown legs and run away on its own, it must have been this thing that did the trick.”
