Rant.
by Jessie@AFNCCThe thing is, it’s easy to hurt people’s feelings, so I’ve adopted a relatively silent attitude from the beginning.
For a more Buddhist author, I actually kind of hate this mechanic (and only dare to bleep it out in a whisper).
Because this is actually burdensome for the author for the readers, and it’s not as if it’s going to get worse because of this, so hopefully we can still try to live in harmony.
Plus I did overestimate myself on this one when I got high-mouthed in February, and there’s also a reason I didn’t realize until I finished that there were only 28 days in February. But a breach of trust is a breach of trust, and you have to admit when you’ve done something wrong, and I’m always ashamed of that. Every time I see people spouting off in the review section, my face is on fire, so I’ve taken a leaf out of my book and chapter reviews. Occasionally, I’m in good shape and take the time to return a few chapters. It’s a good idea to take a beating and stand up for yourself.
Because of this, half ashamed and half Buddhist, it never occurred to me to compete for the top spot.
These days the monthly votes are up, the fight is so fierce, honestly, as an author, I’m quite moved. Even so crumbs of me, you guys are still willing to support.
But competing for the list will inevitably lead to cursing and smoke, there are too many precedents, that’s why I hate this mechanism. Still, I hope everyone can have a good reading environment.
It’s not even necessary to start a war to bring up the tempo, it’s easy to embarrass the author.
It’s a good thing the admins have been deleting book reviews, so thank you to the admins in the review section.
On some tangents, the beat writer is getting into the later stages, and it can be finished within a million words, that’s a preliminary assessment, the precise word count, I can’t estimate.
The later a book gets, the harder it is to write because there’s so much to think about in terms of ambushes, subplots, characters, etc. I’m trying to stabilize the quality first and foremost, I guess.
Honestly, it’s not easy to be 3 million words in and the chase book is going up and the average book is going up. The reason I’m Buddhist, in fact, is that 90% of my energy is on the book. Everything else takes a back seat.
I should be able to get to 110,000 average bookings next month, and I’d like to see where the limits of the beat writers are, so I’m treading on even thinner ice with the plot, even afraid to put pen to paper.
Yardage to go!
