    Episode 480

“Born Dragon. When will you be able to handle this?”

Simon was mesmerized by the beautiful appearance of the skeletal dragon hidden among the orange leaves.

Simon finished his freshman year by making lychee.

And now Aaron a sophomore has set his sights on producing ‘Durahan’.

“Until the end of the second year.”

A hearty smile appeared on Simon’s lips.

“I will aim to create. No I will definitely make it and deal with it.”

Nephthys smiled brightly as she watched Simon clenching his fists in determination.

“huh. Cheer up our student council president!”

    The next morning.

Aaron’s intermediate major summons class has begun.

Following the creation of the Skeleton Knight on the first day Aaron practiced the operation and use of the Skeleton Knight ‘Bash’ on the second day.

The class location was an outdoor training ground.

The students spread out a wide space and stood together with the skeleton knight they had made yesterday. The students’ skeleton knights were swinging their swords vigorously in the air.

“Send out the jet blackness of the summoning magic circle and focus it on the sword.”

Aaron was walking around with his back to the students giving them guidance.

“The main material monsters of Skeleton Knight all understand the concept of Aurors during their lifetime. There is no need to use a magic circle. Let the undead recall memories of their lifetime and induce them to naturally reproduce the technique.”

Aaron turned his back and raised his voice.

    “Sword again.”

    Boom!

All the knights’ swords came down. The swords of some of the knights turned black and then returned to their original state. The successful students let out an exclamation of joy.

    “Well done.”

    Aaron said.

“Auror is a skill that implants mana into a sword and is the same power as the symbol of old knights. Think of it as embodying the pitch blackness of the undead.”

    “yes!”

    “Sword again.”

The entire process afterward was left to the head teaching assistant and Aaron looked around at the students and commented on them one by one.

“Alibaran Finesse. I know you are skilled in swordsmanship but don’t focus on the knight’s stance. The purpose of this training is to find the sword that the knight was most comfortable swinging during his lifetime. Once Geomro is completed Bash will naturally start appearing.”

    “thank you!”

“Hector Moore. It’s too rigid. Your will is so strong that yesterday’s nitro cannot keep up with your movements. Control the tempo and intensity.”

    “yes.”

Aaron who had been correcting the students one by one turned his head.

    ‘Simon Pollentia.’

This guy has already had a successful ‘Bash’.

The Skeleton Knight’s sword was filled with black energy and held onto it for quite some time.

‘But why is this guy so energetic today?’

Simon’s eyes looking ahead continued to emit a serious light.

Aaron knew what those eyes were.

These are the same eyes that others thought of as a hololich when creating a skeleton mage.

I thought it was after his academic life progressed a little further that he got ‘triggered’ but what happened last night? Or even a change of heart?

    Aaron curious approached him.

    “Simon Pollentia.”

I called his name but Simon was so focused that he couldn’t even understand what he said right next to him.

Aaron waited quietly and with the chief assistant’s shout of ‘one sword’ the knight’s sword controlled by Simon came down.

    Boom!

It was nice to see a cleanly drawn trajectory.

As a knight with a bad back his posture was not perfect but he was showing the best results under the given circumstances.

Simon who has finally come out of his concentration state is seen wiping the sweat from his forehead while saying ‘Whoa’.

    “Simon Pollentia.”

    Simon looked back in surprise.

    “Ah yes! professor!”

“The ‘Bash’ used by Knight is a striking device that gathers jet black into a line and explodes at once. You are now asking the knight to use a technique close to enchantment not bash.”

    “Oh that’s……”

Simon scratched the back of his neck.

“Actually I ended up like this while looking for the trajectory that best suited my knight.”

    Aaron’s eyes widened in surprise.

Did you take your own creative direction without any advice from anyone else?

He soon returned to his calm expression and turned his head.

“If that’s the case that’s okay.”

    “?”

Without saying another word Aaron walked to the side and corrected Toto’s knight’s sword skills.

After the practice a 30-minute break was given. Aaron who was sitting on a chair in the training room was looking at Simon with strange eyes.

‘At this point I’m working so hard that it’s scary. ‘What happened?’

Simon’s training continued even during the break. When Simon ordered the Skeleton Knight to spin the Knight’s body spun like a top.

Perhaps because of the Bash effect this time the top was pitch black.

Toto threw a stone at it and it broke! The stone was ground apart with a sound. Simon and Toto were seen cheering and clapping their palms together.

“True Toto! Please also look at this. I created a new technology.”

    “What is it?”

“It’s still in the experimental stage.”

    Simon opened a subspace ahead.

    I love you so much!

As soon as the subspace opened three skeleton knights passed through it spinning like tops and tearing the atmosphere to pieces.

Like the first Skeleton Knight it was not just a matter of turning the waist in a circular motion. My whole body was spinning from my toes to my upper body.

    “Great!”

Toto screamed. Students who were taking a break in their respective seats also looked at the scene with shining eyes.

However as if the stopping motion was not yet perfect the bodies of the knights were shattered and flying around as soon as they rotated. Simon ran around to pick up the pieces and Toto helped.

“Simon! There were three more knights?”

Toto asked running towards me with the bone in his arms. Simon glanced at Aaron and the other instructors and spoke in a whisper.

“Actually I bought it in Rochester yesterday. To experiment with this technology.”

    “aha!”

“I roughly decided on the name of the technology. Blade Storm?”

    “What about Whirlwind?”

Aaron who was watching from afar covered his forehead and sighed.

    ‘……Crazy guy.’

    And after a while.

While Simon and Toto went to the bathroom students started spinning their Skeleton Knights one after another.

There was a strange trend going around in my major’s summons class.

    * * *

The morning practice ends here. Aaron returned to the classroom with his students. Skeleton Knight practice is good but you have to follow the textbook progress at your own pace.

“Now that I think about it there was a common question I received from several students yesterday.”

Aaron said tapping the blackboard with chalk.

“When I said I was making a tier 3 undead headless knight called ‘Durahan’ the question was what the term ‘tier’ meant.”

Students who had previously studied such as Aseraz and Hector burst into laughter.

And Simon was just rolling his eyes.

    ‘I don’t know either.’

    “quietly.”

At Aaron’s words the surroundings fell silent again.

“It is a concept that was not covered in the first-year summons course so it is natural for students to not know it. I’ll explain.”

He wrote the word Tier on the blackboard.

“As you all know it is a term that means ‘stage’ or ‘level’. I don’t really like it but it’s used a lot in the field so I’ll skip it.”

The chalk in Aaron’s hand danced around on the blackboard.

“Tier in summoning is a slightly different concept from ‘grade’. There will be a maximum number of undead you can all control simultaneously.”

    Simon nodded.

In Simon’s case if he did not use the power of the corps commander he could currently handle 8 summoned undead at the same time. I achieved the 8th grade around the second semester of my freshman year but it didn’t really increase from there.

Of course cross-operation could have made it appear as if a larger number of undead were being dealt with and by mobilizing the cloud and using the ‘SS’ technology it was possible to deal with 24 undead and more.

    “I’m in 5th grade.”

    Toto’s voice was heard.

    “I’m in the 8th period.”

Fitzgerald said pushing up his glasses.

While the students were murmuring Aaron resumed his explanation.

“The maximum number that can be used to deal with undead through thought varies greatly from person to person. And for example let’s say there is a necromancer who can handle up to 10 undead at the same time.”

Aaron drew numbers on the blackboard.

“This necromancer can control 10 tier 1 undead and 5 tier 2 undead. Tier 3 undead can reach level 3.”

    ‘I see!’

    Simon’s eyes widened rapidly.

‘The level of thought necessary to control the undead!’

“You probably got a rough idea.”

He said putting down the chalk.

“Undead with strong will and originality consume a considerable amount of energy to control with thoughts. In the case of these undead no matter how many times you handle them you will not be able to handle other undead.”

    The students nodded in unison.

“But as I said at the beginning I don’t like this concept and terminology. We shouldn’t instill unnecessary prejudice in students. First tier is a relative concept.”

Since dealing with the undead with thoughts is itself a matter of mental strength there may be differences from person to person.

If there are Necromancers who can equally handle up to 10 Tiers some can handle 5 Tier 2 Tiers while others can handle 5 Tier 2 Tiers plus one Tier. There are even necromancers who require less thought to handle tier 4 than tier 3.

“Don’t take it as an absolute concept but think that the higher the tier the more difficult but powerful the undead are. And secondly the maximum number of undead that can be handled does not indicate the strength of the summoner.”

He wrote people’s names in chalk.

“For example the active Raven Renji Mahomes is a professional necromancer but can only control up to three undead. But that alone made it to the top. The ‘Golem Three Brothers’ led by him are considered one of the strongest summoner combinations.”

The students began taking notes with excited faces.

“The last third tier has various variables. Some people may know and some may not but ‘Lich’ is a tier 1 undead. It is the same tier as regular zombies or skeletons. But are lichs and skeletons the same thing? Of course not.”

    Aaron looked around.

“The reason why this is possible is because of Rich’s unique characteristic of having a heart called ‘Life Vessel’ on the outside. And there are also tier 0 undead.”

    “0What a tier!”

    “What is that?”

In response to the student’s question Aaron smiled and wrote down seven letters.

    “Ancient Undead.”

    “……!”

    Simon felt his heart pounding.

“These ancient beings do not need the necromancer’s thoughts. It is also a being that can treat other undead as servants. likewise.”

The word ‘Corporation Commander’ was written on it.

“Regardless of this concept corps commanders can handle tens of thousands of corps-type undead. It is not restricted by numbers.”

    “Wow…!”

    “It’s not fair.”

Simon broke into a cold sweat with a smile on his face as he heard Toto’s grunting sound.

“Of course it is said that the corps commanders do not rely too much on undead troops led by Ancient Undead. It is said that he handles the summoned undead under his direct command with near perfection.”

Aaron looked at the clock on the wall.

“Time is slowly running out. Do you have any other questions about the class?”

While the students were quiet someone’s hand went up.

    It was Simon.

    “This is Simon Pollentia.”

When Aaron nodded Simon stood up and opened his mouth with serious eyes.

“This is a bit of a random question but what tier of undead is this dragon?”

The students’ murmuring stopped. Aaron answered looking at Simon with a strange gaze.

“This dragon starts from the minimum tier 10. It is said that there are bone dragons of such size that it is doubtful that humans can handle them.”

Simon’s heart was pounding like crazy.

An extremely difficult undead that cannot be made or handled yet.

    That was the real dragon.

‘Good.’ ‘Now that I have a firm goal I feel more enthusiastic!’

Simon sat down and burned with enthusiasm. And Aaron who was watching from afar was frowning.

    ‘No way that crazy guy.’

    I just hoped not.
