    Episode 478

    Clap! Clap! Clap!

The cave that the train went down to was quite deep. I couldn’t even guess where the end would be now.

‘There was a place like this in Rock Island.’

And the deeper I went the more strange things I saw that were difficult to see with my eyes open. There were monster heads hanging from ropes and long monster stomachs that were coiled like snakes and moving.

    “Hi!”

Toto was so frightened that he kept screaming while holding on to Simon’s arm.

“……Simon. When this class is over will we be able to see the sunlight safely?”

    “don’t worry. It’ll be okay.”

Simon smiled calmly and tried to calm him down but Toto still flinched at the slightest sound. Next to him Hector was sitting restlessly resting his chin.

    -Aaaah!

    -Kyaaaah!

However a loud scream was heard from the train that had departed earlier. The scream quickly receded and echoed like an echo.

“Looks like there’s something else ahead!”

    Toto’s expression turned pale.

    Giggiggi- Gigigi-

Simon caught the sound of the track and the change in incline and stretched his legs until they reached the end of the train. Hector must have noticed too and grabbed the train with both arms to secure himself firmly.

    “Toto.”

    “huh?”

    “Hold on tight.”

The moment Toto was about to answer his hair rose toward the sky.

What was visible behind it was a railroad track falling steeply into the darkness.

    Sssssssssssssssssssssssssssww!

Suddenly the train started descending at high speed.

    ” Kiyaahah! ”

Starting with Toto the students screamed.

As the small Toto trembled as if he would fly away Simon grabbed his left arm and Hector frowned and grabbed his right shoulder.

    “Ugh! Ahhh!”

“Hold on just a little longer! Toto!”

    Gigigi- Gigigigi-

Soon the train slowly slowed down and stopped. The assistants of Summoning Materials spoke.

    “Now students. I’ll come down.”

The students stumbled and got up from their seats one by one. Simon helped Toto who was upset and Hector walked away alone.

    ‘Where am I?’

It was a place like a dark altar that only appears in narratives.

There is a large altar in the center of the circular space and tables surround it. Various undead materials were placed there or hanging from long hooks connected to the ceiling.

Candles are lit on the walls and there is a shallow channel in the floor where underground water flows. The gap was narrow so I didn’t have to worry about taking a wrong step and getting my shoes wet.

Simon had no idea what would happen in a place like this or what classes would be held.

Soon the last train arrived and the students got off. Everyone had a look of horror as they looked at the gloomy scenery of the cave.

“Now students. Please move away from the table a little.”

The teaching assistants came forward to control the students then stood against the wall and held their hands together politely.

    “Professor Grerion is entering.”

A little distance away from the altar where the students were there was no lighting so I couldn’t see it in detail but there was a flash of blue.

Simon could tell that it was the light of the teleportation magic circle.

    Cooung-

    Cooung-

The sound of heavy footsteps echoes through the cave. The students could see a large figure approaching in the dark.

Soon muffled screams came out from everywhere.

A muscular man with his upper body exposed was approaching carrying a mountain of bloody wild boar monster on his shoulder.

    ‘That person…’

    ‘Professor?’

    Cooung-

    Cooung-

The students overwhelmed by the atmosphere could not even make a sound. Every time he gets closer the sound in the cave gets louder.

Soon the man placed the monster on the altar and boom!! And the entire cave shook.

    Simon’s eyes became serious.

    ‘There are signs of battle.’

Were they still fighting right after getting on the teleportation magic circle? There were small cuts on his skin. The monster’s legs twitched intermittently as if it had completely lost its ability to breathe.

    chuck!

Grerion turned his back and picked up the two dismembering knives hanging on the cave wall.

The swords clashed together making a clanging sound and then he held one of them and approached the wriggling monster.

    Phew!

Then he plunged the knife into his stomach.

    Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!

It moved down and split the stomach. The students flinched as a cloudy vapor-like vapor flowed out and the smell of blood wafted out.

    The dismantling show continues.

Professor Grerion’s dismembering knife moved without hesitation. Every time I moved the knife put my hand inside or pulled it out the pulsating organ came out with a gurgling sound.

    Ssssssssssssssssssssssshh!

Jet black erupted from behind his body. Jet Black drew a magic circle in the air and began carving magic circles all over the materials that fell on the floor.

    Cheok! chuck!

Demolition knives of different sizes and uses moved and rotated along Professor Grerion’s pitch black body and when he stretched out his hand only the ones he wanted came down.

    It was amazing multitasking.

    “Chimera Agandero.”

He attached some of the materials hanging from the ceiling to the material he had just removed from the monster’s body and dropped them on the floor. The organ with eyes began to move and move around on its own.

    “Chimera Warjack.”

    “Chimera Admo.”

I was making a chimera myself using the materials from the monster I had just hunted.

Legs were added to zombies with missing bodies and contents were added to empty undead to make them move.

    Cheok!

    chuck!

All the students looked at the sight of large and small chimeras piling up on the floor with dazed expressions.

The legs moved on their own and the arms were covered in black liquid and became the monster’s tail. He also created a moving ‘Abomination’ by attaching the organs of other monsters together.

Finally I cut off the head of the remaining wild boar monster and attached a third head to the two-headed monster. Having created a triple-headed chimera he wiped the blood splattered from his face and put down his knife.

12 chimeras born in an instant from the corpse of a monster.

Although the work was finished the students were so overwhelmed by the atmosphere that they could not even applaud.

    “I am Grerion.”

    Finally his mouth opened.

    “you.”

Grerion stretched out his hand. Unfortunately Toto was pointed out again! He hiccuped and stiffened his body.

    “Yes yes! Toto Armory!…!”

“Tell me what a chimera is.”

Toto rolled his head with a stern look on his face.

“It means a being that is a combination of two or more living things…!”

“This is the most commonly used definition. Then you!”

This time the female student who was pointed next to him opened her mouth.

“It is an undead with multiple powers created by a necromancer through artificial grafting.”

    Grerion nodded and trotted away.

Then I stopped walking jerked my head and looked in the direction where Simon was.

    “Chimeras are extremely practical creatures.”

    His eyes glowed frighteningly.

“If a necromancer has two or more types of creatures or undead in their hands they can create any ultimate monster. In particular it is the most necessary element for summoners who run out of summons quickly.”

He grabbed her throbbing neck and shook it lightly from side to side.

“When I was on active duty when I ran out of summons I robbed a ranch on the outskirts of the territory assembled 10 pigs from there and annihilated a castle.”

    “……!”

    “Necromancers have fights like that.”

The corners of his mouth rose.

“What did you say the name of this class was?”

    “This is Summoning Materials!”

“I can’t help it because it’s a regular curriculum but I don’t like that subject name.”

He slowly looked around at the students.

“Let’s call it the chimera design theory. I will teach you not only studying materials but also how to use them to create powerful chimeras. All of the materials science knowledge in my class exists to create powerful chimeras.”

He smiled darkly as he picked up the monster’s still writhing flesh from the floor.

    “Welcome to the forbidden area.”

    * * *

For modern summoners who major in summonology chimera creation was an essential subject.

Necromancers’ chimera production technology was so highly developed that there was once a saying ‘Chimera era.’ All kinds of rune words and modifier techniques derived from Chimera had a great influence on almost all summoning magic.

In other words starting from the second year of Keygen most summons were unusable unless you knew Chimera-related skills. This goes hand in hand with Aaron’s intermediate major Summoning.

Of course aside from educational reasons Simon thought there was no harm in learning how to make chimeras.

    “Start grafting.”

Fortunately we did not deal with animals or monsters from the first Chimera class.

What was placed in front of the students were flowers planted in pots and aquatic plants in a tank.

The first chimera class required combining the roots of aquatic plants with common foliage plants. The goal is to use this to create flowers that grow well even when placed in water.

The key was to maintain the properties of both plants while simultaneously bringing out the advantages of aquatic plants that grow well on water without dying.

“Attach the cut edges of the two plants to each other wrap magic tape to secure them and then activate the acceleration magic. When the two cut surfaces heal water nutrients and plant hormones are transferred between the two plants.”

Simon calmly connected the flowers and aquatic plants and floated them in the tank.

Toto next to him tried the same thing but the flower soon died and its roots sank into the water but Simon’s flower was alive and well.

    ‘It’s a success!’

Simon took his hand away from the plant and smiled in satisfaction.

‘It’s about making chimeras. ‘This class is fun too.’

Chimeras bring out the strengths of both species simultaneously.

Even with simple grafting you can create a plant with potatoes growing on the roots and tomatoes growing on the stems. If black magic is used and the connecting material is undead dynamic changes beyond human imagination are possible.

Biological chimeras must be grafted with similar species that do not cause rejection but undead have little or no rejection no matter what they are mixed with.

Of course usage time and lifespan cannot be guaranteed.

‘I feel like I’ve become a real major now.’

As expected the depth of skills learned in the second year was on a completely different level from dealing with skeletons or zombies at best in the first year.

“In order to create a chimera extensive knowledge is required.”

    Grerion explained.

“There are no completely identical chimeras in this world. Even if you produce 1000 units of the same two types of monsters the formulas used are bound to be different. What is needed more than anything to create a chimera is a complete understanding of the organism used as the material before gaining sense. Please memorize all the handouts from now on.”

Students’ voices came out from all over the place.

    * * *

After all the students left the teaching assistants began cleaning up after themselves.

The surroundings were covered in blood as they dismantled the huge monster. Grerion was also organizing the surroundings with his assistants. At his direction the chimeras moved and walked deep into the cave making a squishing sound.

    Pot!

At that time a blue light flashed at the end of the cave. It was the sound of a teleportation magic circle activating.

Grerion got up and greeted the guest.

    “Did you come? Aaron.”

Aaron walked over brushing his long messy hair and bowed his head.

    “It’s been a while. professor.”

“You a rookie are now the second-year summoning professor. A lot of time has passed.”

Grerion smiled. Aaron sat down and let out a tired sigh.

    “How were the kids?”

“I heard that a lot of talented people came to the department this time but there were definitely quite a few faces that stood out.”

Hector Aseraz Lorraine Cernet. And even Simon the current student council president.

    “How was Simon Pollentia?”

    “It wasn’t that noticeable.”

    Grerion answered plainly.

“This is the first time and we’ve only tried attaching plants so it’s hard to judge anything. assistant! Bring Simon’s work!”

    “yes!”

A teaching assistant brought Simon’s plants in a tank. The two professors looked at it.

    “It’s finished but it’s ordinary. Isn’t Chimera a talent?”

He took out a plant from a tank.

    Then I unwound the tape.

    “……!”

    His eyes widened.

The cut edges were almost perfectly attached.

“You used something other than the black magic I taught you.”

Aaron laughed thinking it was worth it.

    “It’s like that guy.”

    “what?”

“This is the guy who made the lich when teaching Skeleton Mage.”

    Hmm Grerion’s eyes lit up.

    “That’s right.”
