    Episode 446

    Sigh!

Simon was moving forward riding the undead Deimos cutting through the cool current of the sea.

He had his feet planted on Deimos’ body and his hands were looking over the chart that D i c k had brought.

    ‘Let’s sort it out.’

Simon was thinking about the story he heard from the guide at the Deimos Museum today.

-This shows the current location of Deimos. At Parona we know Deimos’ location a month before the event! If we calculate this speed Deimos will pass by tomorrow afternoon with his people.

Deimos circles the oceans of the entire continent at a constant speed and route. And just tomorrow it is scheduled to pass through the narrow sea between the Parona Peninsula and the island.

Estimated arrival time is tomorrow afternoon.

If they arrived at Farona a little faster they could wipe out the Nagas at once but Deimos’ speed is always constant. The Randolph gang must have had such a calculation in mind so they did what they did.

“In the end this is the only way.”

When I lower my head I see the undead Deimos swimming through the water. Jet black shimmers all over the white bones.

    “Can you do it? Deimos.”

Deimos looks nervous and somewhat unstable. Simon comforted his summoned beast and checked the chart again.

“It must be seen slowly… Ah!”

As soon as I could say it it appeared.

The middle of the sea far away was dark. It did not stand still but wriggled and moved forward little by little.

It is not a single living thing. Tens of thousands of living things were gathered together to form a ‘lump’ beneath the surface of the water.

    ‘…Those are all marine creatures?’

I was a little dazed by the scale beyond imagination. Deimos also feels insanely anxious through the connected thoughts.

“don’t worry. I won’t make you fight that thing.”

After a while the Deimos army came right in front of us.

Simon activated the oxygen tank magic circle developed by Meilin and sent the anxious Deimos back to subspace.

    with a splash!

Then he jumped into the sea.

My whole body trembles from the cold sensation. The interior of the sea unfolds as quietly and calmly as in the ancient world.

However without any time to indulge in sentimentality he headed toward the black group at top speed.

    ‘……and.’

Countless black slimy things are approaching covering the sea. The marine monsters that lived on this coast also sympathized with that group and were drawn in like a magnet.

It looks like it’s getting bigger and bigger.

And at the head of this group is a jaw-droppingly huge monster whale.

It was the true adult ‘Deimos’ nicknamed the ruler of the sea.

    “…….”

    Am I really crazy?

What have you come to do now?

The moment I made eye contact with Deimos I felt my mentality suddenly crack. Every cell in my body was turning on a red light.

To be honest even if there is only a 1% chance if things go extremely well wouldn’t it be possible to catch an adult Deimos? I had very little expectations of that.

But when I got there I realized what a stupid idea it was.

At the very least I had to distinguish between what was possible and what was impossible. Simon erased that thought from his mind.

‘Come to your senses. Just think about what I can do now!’

I bit my lip until it bled. I come back to my senses because of the pain. After desperately suppressing my fear I faced Deimos confidently.

Now I saw Simon over there too but he didn’t seem to care much. Compared to Deimos’ size Simon was nothing more than a dot and a lowly creature.

    ‘It’s crazy though.’

Simon twisted his mouth coolly and spread his arms.

‘I have no choice but to do it!’

    Wooooow!

    Ugh!

What was spread out in his hands was the original Pantasus Sleep.

    The plan was simple.

Put Deimos to sleep and take the marine creatures that have lost their command to this undead Deimos and return to Farona.

Then they go out with that force destroy the swarm and save Parona.

‘Sorry but I’ll borrow your army!’

    Increases concentration.

The surroundings become increasingly quiet and my heart beats slowly.

    ‘more. more.’

    The sound disappears.

Now even time slowly slows down.

Feeling his spirit being lifted Simon concentrated on the work of the magic circles on his arms.

The opponent is Saint Deimos and his legions.

In comparison all this person has is a small insignificant magic circle drawn on both hands.

    But I face it confidently.

‘Slips that put humans to sleep are not enough!’

    Simon widened his eyes.

‘I have to do everything I can to increase the spectrum of firepower itself!’

    Gurgling!

Simon supplied a large amount of jet black which exceeded the limit capacity to the magic circle at once.

The internal balance was broken and the circuits and formulas were damaged but it did not stop. If the circuit is broken it is reconnected and if the formula is broken it is drawn anew. It stretched all the way to the end without being destroyed.

-Think of black magic as a warrior’s body full of scars! Constantly changing and evolving according to situations and conditions!

A massive expansion that far exceeds the specifications that the magic circle can endure.

The ecosystem is damaged and torn apart again and again but it does not give up. We put it together until everything is in tatters.

‘Failure and hurt are also a process!’

A spark flew through Simon’s head.

‘Accept everything as the pain of evolution!’

The magic circle slowly reaches its limit and twists strangely. It can no longer be called a magic circle.

Simon was holding the demon in his hands screaming in pain.

    ‘You can do it!’

Blood was flowing from my mouth and my eyes were bloodshot due to jet-black reflux.

Simon felt a great sense of elevation.

    The pupil contains all things.

Grasp all things in both hands.

Without setting limits or drawing lines we treat failure as a process and continue to piece together.

    Then.

    ‘!’

    puck. do.

Simon felt something breaking and sunlight coming in.

    Ssssssssssssssshhhh!

Three-dimensional stems protruded from the flat two-dimensional magic circle.

The result was a tense tug-of-war between Simon’s endless demands for evolution and maintaining the balance of a magic circle that had reached its limit.

Rather than explode the magic circle chose to expand in a completely different direction than before.

    ‘ah!’

The three-dimensional stems extending from the magic circle bloomed into flowers called the magic circle.

Several magic circles were connected to one magic circle and the overloaded tasks of the central magic circle were distributed and started to be executed.

    This is it.

‘The level that Chairman Pantasus spoke of!’

Simon raised the corner of his mouth and looked at Deimos approaching.

    Quaaaaa!

Did Deimos also know that his insignificance led him to do suspicious things?

    It opened its big mouth.

The surrounding seawater was sucked in like a vacuum and Simon’s body was also roughly sucked into Deimos.

    ‘Ugh!’

Simon maintained his concentration and completed the magic circle on his right hand. Then it prepared to fire in an ejector format towards Deimos.

    ‘Take it!’

It is different from the original Pantasus.

A true original that only I can write.

    <Simon Original – Sleeping Deimos>

A dark blue flash spread out and hit the roof of the whale’s mouth. The curse was applied properly.

    ‘One foot isn’t enough!’

I immediately completed the magic circle on my left hand and fired two shots.

This time two stacks as the curse hit my throat.

    but.

    Kwa-kwa-kwa-kwa-kwa-kwa-kwa-kwa!

Deimos didn’t even show any signs of fatigue.

    ‘Is this not enough?’

A sense of despair lingers. The moment when Simon’s body was about to be sucked into Deimos’ cave-like mouth.

    Tooung.

Deimos kept his mouth shut. The sea water that was being sucked in violently stopped and white bubbles bubbled up.

    Gooooooooooo…

In the silence of the deep sea Deimos’ big eyes turned to Simon.

Although he did not fall asleep due to Simon’s sleep Deimos clearly stopped the attack of his own will.

    -Keeeeek!

    -Colorac!

The sea monsters that spotted Simon from behind flashed their teeth and waved their tentacles. However Deimos was controlling it so that it could not attack Simon with its own wavelength.

    ‘what?’

Simon looked at Deimos with surprised eyes.

I cursed him and couldn’t put him to sleep.

However I do not feel any hostility toward Deimos.

‘Are you comfortable… are you doing this?’

Deimos playfully tapped the body of this small land creature with its large head.

Simon spread his hands again even as he was pushed into the water.

‘I’m not sure what it is!’

Unlike other curses Sleep learned from Phantasus makes the opponent comfortable and in a good mood.

Deimos did not believe that Simon had attacked him.

And I hope to become more comfortable than I am now.

    ‘Up to 5 stacks!’

Simon made the same curse as before. Now that I am in a state of extreme concentration I actively take advantage of Jet-black’s tendency to remember.

    And finally.

    ‘This is the last time!’

    5 stacks of slip.

From the 6th stack onwards an imbalance between slips occurs and the effectiveness decreases. That is stack 5 is the last.

After Simon used up all his slips he left the rest to fate.

    […….]

Of course Deimos did not sleep due to the effects of the curse.

There was no way it would be possible to put such a large creature to sleep with an improvised curse.

    nevertheless.

Deimos is clearly feeling pleasantly tired.

    Srur-

In this way the whale prepares for sleep of its own will.

There was nothing special about the whale’s sleep. Standing still with your body vertically without moving.

    This was the whale’s sleep.

    -Cararalalak!

    -Kirilik!

When a whale falls asleep on its own the effectiveness of the waves it emits around it decreases by half. Half of the sea monsters and fish that were under the control of the wavelength are freed and some of them attack Simon.

    Grumble!

    “Big!”

The oxygen in the magic circle of the oxygen tank ran out.

Simon swam holding his breath. A swarm of pitch-black monsters rush towards Simon surrounding him.

But there was no way I could escape in the sea. The octopus monsters’ tentacles wrapped around Simon’s body and behind them shark-like monsters flashed their teeth.

    ‘Now!’

Simon caught by the tentacles was dragged down opening a subspace.

    and.

    -Uuuuuuuuu!

A new ‘ruler of the sea’ has appeared.

    * * *

    “Stop it! Stop it!”

Meanwhile the battle on the Parona Peninsula continued until dawn.

Parona’s necromancers Kizen students and mercenaries were somehow blocking the Nagas on the coast but now their fatigue was growing and their defeat was deepening.

In addition due to the closed location of the Parona Peninsula late at night and above all due to the Nagas crowded on the coast there were limits to quick support from outside.

“Support! They say that the barrier has been broken and it is dangerous!”

The messenger who came to report shouted. The necromancers fighting on the coast looked sad.

“What is support! This side is hopeless too!”

“Let’s just run away by ourselves! If only necromancers gather together and build a fortress it will be enough to last for a few days.”

As defeat deepened such talk began to go back and forth.

“Did you finish what you just said?”

As the enraged Meyrin approached several necromancers flinched.

“If we withdraw now the residents and tourists of Yeongju Castle will be exterminated! You know?”

The middle-aged necromancer shook his head.

“Hmm. I think I don’t know much about the field because I’m still a student but in this case there’s just no answer.”

“I also have children. I can’t be killed in a remote place like this!”

    “You guys really…!”

    “Meylin! Hold on!”

    Camivarez stopped Meirin.

“If we have any energy left to fight among ourselves can we help?”

    D i c k shouted throwing the potion bottle.

The sticky liquid spread widely on the floor and when Nagas tried to pass over it they got stuck in the sticky and could not move.

    Good!

D i c k lit the lighter and threw it behind his head. The sticky liquid caught fire and burned brightly and the Nagas cried out in pain.

    “What about Simon?”

Camivarez shook his head in response to D i c k’s question.

    “It hasn’t arrived yet.”

“ah! I’m starting to get worried. That idiot didn’t really attack Deimos did he?

    “……I was thinking that too.”

    Sigh!

The only one struggling in a battlefield where defeat was deepening was Arthur the mercenary king.

    “Hahahaha!”

Perhaps because he was a swordsman before becoming a necromancer he showed great activity by reducing the use of the jet black as much as possible and only dealing with monsters with his sword.

Of course in this case it would not be pitch black and his stamina would be exhausted but Arthur’s stamina was far beyond that of a human.

“Maybe it’s because he’s an idiot but he fights well.”

    This was Maylin’s assessment.

    Snap! Snap!

And there was a reporter who was taking pictures of Arthur’s back as he fought hard with a magic camera.

“Desperate situation! Colleagues who turned their backs on us! Nevertheless he is the king of mercenaries who fights until the end! iced coffee!”

His eyes were moist as he held the magic camera.

“It’s nothing short of the last article of my life!”

“Hey man. It will be difficult for you to come here.”

    D i c k said bluntly and approached.

    “Don’t come any closer!”

When the reporter turned the magic camera towards D i c k the Keygen student flinched and stopped walking without realizing it.

“I know we’ll all die on this island anyway!”

    The reporter spoke resolutely.

“Even if my body is eaten by a monster this magic camera and the memo I wrote the article will remain! I will devote my life to writing about the achievements of heroes!”

    “What are you saying?”

“I guess it’s a professional mission. Just leave it alone”

    Meilin sighed and said.

Meanwhile Nagas had landed and covered the coast and the Necromancers who had been planning to escape had already run away.

    Camivarez clenched his fists.

“It’s too much for just one mercenary king! Let’s all fight together!”

    “that’s right.”

Meirin and Kamivarez were next to Arthur who was panting with his sword stuck in the ground. D i c k stood side by side.

    “Hey everyone!”

Arthur’s expression was filled with emotion.

“To die an honorable death with me…!”

    “Who dies!”

Maylin screamed. Camivarez also said holding up the jet black sword in both hands.

“It’s too early to think like that. Just hold on a little longer and Simon will come back! Simon would definitely have a solution…!”

    Right at that moment.

    -Uuuuuuuuu!

With the dawn that comes brightening the darkness

A sound like a ship’s horn echoed across the Parona Peninsula.
