    Episode 403

The day before the promotion ceremony.

The 247 students who were confirmed to be eliminated took off their Kizen uniforms and left Rock Island.

When the surviving Class A students including Simon gathered in the classroom to take the last class the empty seats seemed unusually large.

In such a chaotic atmosphere Professor Jane’s final ‘Beginner Black Magic’ class began.

-I had a hard time following my guidance for a year. Now this is the ‘1st year class A’ that I will be calling for the last time.

It was Simon’s first time hearing Jane’s slightly trembling voice.

-I’m proud of you. Class A.

With that one word numerous emotions crossed over and Ban instantly burst into tears.

Camivarez cried loudly and Meyrin turned her head and wiped her eyes. D i c k who was timing the joke kept his mouth shut this time not daring to break the colic.

The crying quickly became contagious and the eyes of the teaching assistants standing behind him also turned red.

After class the students hugged their teaching assistants and said goodbye.

“Teacher sister! Thank you so much for the year!”

“Congratulations on your promotion to second grade Jamie.”

No matter what the students who survived Keygen had to move forward.

    And just today.

A promotion ceremony for 400 first-year students was scheduled in the main auditorium.

Parents and relatives were entering Locke Island holding bouquets of flowers. The students were also very excited about seeing their parents for the first time in a long time.

Since today was the last day of the first year of Kizen Simon packed his bags early and left the dormitory to visit the professors he had not yet been able to greet.

Aaron of Summoning Hong Feng of Matuology Starry Night of Deadly Venomology Eric of Dark Mechanics Umbra of Necromancy.

But unfortunately I could not meet Bahil of curse science. In Bahil’s lab Chehekl was the only senior assistant.

According to her after Bahil left Simon’s hospital room he cut off all contact and disappeared.

Chehekl told him not to worry saying that he would come in when the new semester started anyway.

And the final destination was Farahan a professor of sacred defense and Simon’s priest teacher.

Farhan said that vacation time away from Kizen was the best time to practice divinity and gave various divinity-related tasks.

He also took the divine beasts Hayangi and Kamangi that were in Farahan’s house placed them in the sacred sub-space where Akalion was and returned.

I felt sorry for continuing to entrust her to Farrakhan during the vacation and more than anything I was hoping that seeing Anna a former saint and mother would give me some clue to awakening.

    “Utcha.”

I was so busy walking around since early in the morning that my legs hurt. Simon stretched and looked down from the hill.

I saw a crowd of students and parents gathered in the main auditorium.

“Then should I go down too!”

    * * *

Although the promotion ceremony had not yet begun the students and parents were very enthusiastic.

If entering Kizen was a blessing for the family being promoted to the second year of Kizen was an honor for the family.

A father and son embracing each other in tears. A female student smiling brightly as if she owned the world while holding a bouquet of flowers in her arms. There was happiness and laughter everywhere.

And among them there was a girl with light blue hair who was looking around intently.

    It was Meilin.

“I said it was definitely in front of the fountain! Where are you wandering?”

Meilin who had been looking around intently for 30 minutes finally found a man with short light blue hair just like her and shouted.

    “dad! It’s here!”

    Meilin waved her arms.

A man who was walking through the crowd around him also smiled when he saw Meilin.

    “Yes Meilin.”

Daniela Villenne the leader of the moderate faction in the Ivory Tower and Meilin’s father.

The father and daughter did not embrace cry or make strange noises like the people around them. I just faced him and smiled plainly.

“Congratulations on your promotion to second grade.”

Daniela handed Meilin a bouquet of blue roses that resembled her hair color.

Meilin held it in her arms smelled the fragrant flower scent and smiled.

    “huh. Thanks dad!”

“I heard the story. You’re in the top 10?”

Meilin smiled drawing a V shape.

“I said I would do it too!”

“okay. I guess I’ll stand up to see the tower owner’s face.”

Daniela sighed and touched her forehead.

“I ran away from the ivory tower and entered Kizen on my own and I was so upset. Do you know how much I bowed my head to the elders?”

    “Oh really!”

    Meilin blushed.

“But you still worked hard and came in 8th place! On a good day no more nagging!”

But Daniela’s nagging didn’t stop. He ran his fingertips through Meilin’s light blue hair that she had carefully grown.

“You’ve grown your hair longer. I’m a student. Isn’t this too long? If you keep fiddling with your head you will lose concentration.”

“Don’t mind my head! What’s wrong with your head all of a sudden?”

Meilin got angry and slapped Daniela’s hand away.

“When I get back to the ivory tower I guess I’ll have to call the hairdresser first.”

    Daniela sighed and looked around.

“Rather than that where have you gone Serne?”

    “…….”

At that question Maylin’s lips popped out a little.

    “……Why is he there again?”

Daniela said in a somewhat stern tone.

“Did your dad tell you to call me Cerne?”

I hate poetry! Am I crazy?!”

    Meilin jumped up.

“And didn’t you come to congratulate me today? Dad why do you make me feel bad by telling such cheap stories?”

“I came on behalf of the Ivory Tower. We should also congratulate Cerne on her promotion to second year.”

Daniela showed the bouquet of white roses she was holding behind her back.

    Meilin snorted ‘Hmph.’

“……You can just ask the tower owner to come and give it to you directly.”

“The tower lord thinks that Kizen is in the middle of enemy territory.”

As Daniela said that she looked at her watch.

“The ceremony will start soon. Where is the bathroom?”

“……You can enter any building. The Deadly Poison Science Museum is the closest here. Go straight and it’s on the right.”

Perhaps because she was in a hurry Daniela headed to the bathroom.

Meilin had to hold a bouquet of blue roses and a bouquet of white roses that belonged to Cerne.

She sighed with a sullen expression.

    “……Dad you idiot.”

Meilin grumbled and looked down at her feet. I even kicked the pebbles around Eight Eight for no reason.

    I worked hard.

I started from the bottom and ended up in the top 10.

Excellent. I’m proud. Is it that hard to say something like that?

A rush of sad feelings came over me.

“I’d like to ask you something for a moment. lady.”

At that time a man approached Meilin.

    “Oh yes.”

Meilin turned her head and looked at him.

    “……!”

There was a walking statue in front of me. Even though he had glasses that didn’t suit him at all and a mustache it didn’t diminish this man’s appearance.

“I want to go to a place called the Great Hall. Where should I go?”

    “ah.”

    Meilin’s face turned red.

He is an incredibly attractive person. It felt like my whole body was emitting pheromones.

The standard of middle-aged America. Rather his age due to ‘aging’ further concentrated his charm as a gentleman. Even age was a weapon to this man.

    Maylin stammered.

“In that big building over there…!”

At that time the man who was looking at Meilin grabbed her left hand and lifted it. Suddenly her hand was grabbed and she screamed.

    “Why are you like this?”

    “……here.”

The man lifted Meilin’s delicate wrist and pointed at it with his eyes. She discovered it too late.

    It was bleeding.

“I guess I got pricked by a rose thorn.”

The man took out a handkerchief from his pocket chief. Even the simple act of taking out a handkerchief exuded elegance.

He used elemental magic to stop the bleeding in an instant and carefully tied Meilin’s wrists with a handkerchief.

“A rose that grows by eating dew tempts with its scent and shows off its brilliant appearance but it can have thorns.”

The man spoke in a whisper to Meilin who was dazed.

    “Just like a lady.”

Meilin’s eyes widened. That cringeworthy line sounds classy now.

After tying Meilin’s wrists with a handkerchief he took a step back and smiled.

    It doesn’t hurt anymore.

    “go……!”

If you say thank you we will now part ways.

But for some reason it was disappointing to part ways like this.

If ” had thorns would everyone be scared?”

The moment Meilin finished speaking she regretted it like crazy.

What on earth am I talking about! crazy!

I want to hit my head against the wall and pass out! I want to go into the mouse hole!

Meilin is screaming inside and going crazy.

“Not afraid of sharp thorns and even prepared to bleed from being stabbed. That is.”

    The man laughed seriously.

“This is the charm of roses.”

Meilin’s face heated up. The man made a nice gesture and walked towards the main auditorium.

It was a strong impression. Meilin sat down on the fountain.

‘…Then why does it look like someone so much?’

    * * *

    The promotion ceremony began.

All the students stood in the front and the parents were in the back.

Vice President Jane’s impactful speech was followed by Elder Kizen’s boring and yawn-inducing speech.

“You are now a second year student at Keygen. Keygen 2nd graders have the same authority as professional necromancers and can perform the role of commander. So as not to tarnish the honor and history built up by our seniors called Kizen…”

    It was incredibly long.

    “Hey Simon.”

    D i c k giggled and elbowed Simon.

    “Are your parents here too?”

    “……no.”

There was no way I could come.

His father Richard was branded a traitor and was unable to leave Leth Hill let alone Locke Island. Anna who is a priest goes without saying.

    D i c k gave a prickly look.

“Uhmmm. Did I ask something pointless?”

“are you okay. I’ll see you soon when I get home.”

When I turned my head I saw students sitting in their seats waving their arms toward their parents. Everyone is holding something like a bouquet of flowers.

    I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t jealous but what I can’t do is I can’t help it.

    “And what about you?”

    D i c k shrugged his shoulders in response to Simon’s question.

“There is no way a father who only favors his eldest son would come to the promotion ceremony of his third son.”

For reference D i c k was the third of eight sons.

“My mom divorced my dad and lives in another kingdom. Instead my second older brother and my third and fourth younger brothers came to play. I’ll introduce you later.”

    “okay?”

    Simon’s face straightened.

    D i c k’s brothers! I wanted to meet you quickly.

“Hey more than that have you seen Maylin’s dad? It’s really Meilin with short hair!”

    puck!

D i c k said ‘Ugh!’ It fell down with a sound. Meilin sitting in the back seat was blushing and huffing.

    “You just gossiped about me!”

“No do you think that if someone calls you a name it’s all gossip? So my usual behavior… Oh! ah! okay! Wrong! Put your head down and talk!”

Simon giggled and looked back. Camivarez was also watching with a grin.

“How about Kami? Is your dad here?”

    “I don’t know.”

    She answered wriggling her fingers.

“If you don’t come because there are a lot of people…”

    “……Ahaha.”

Camivarez’s father was the current Vampire Lord Dietrich Horn Ursula.

Kamivarez was ashamed of her father as he was reckless a nuisance and a serious idiot.

    Simon also experienced this once.

Just before the start of the second semester Dietrich who was with her at Langerstine attacked her telling her to ‘prove her worth’.

    “That’s it.”

At that moment the elder’s speech ended. The students who were dozing off applauded louder than ever.

“Thank you for your hard work Elder. Then it’s next time.”

Jane who went up to the podium opened her mouth.

“Second year senior Simon Pollentia. Please come up to the podium.”
