Chapter 0189 – Accompanying Drinks Halfway (2 / 2)
by Jessie@AFNCCMako glanced at Chandi.
Chandi sat inside, her eyes looking at her calmly.
In the front, the driver sits quietly in the driver’s seat, waiting for the command to drive.
“I’ll take the passenger seat.” Mako said to the driver, turning to open the passenger door.
The rear automatic doors closed and the car was on its way.
“Is it to meet some client?” Mako asked.
“An old client of our company, we’ve been working together for about ten years.”
The VP sighed and chimed in, “It’s also really strange who’s behind this.”
“Old Yu originally didn’t even want to see us, and it took me a lot of persuasion to make this dinner appointment.” Chen Di said.
“Mr. Gao, is it somewhere on Tianhe Road?” The driver in front opened his mouth and asked.
“You drive in that direction on Garden Lane, there’s a place called Hopi Private Dining, I’ll text it to your phone.”
The VP looked down and flipped through his phone, muttering to himself:
“I said to invite him to the Grand Plaza Hotel, he immediately told me not to go. In the past, when I called him for dinner, he didn’t go to the Famous Grand Hotel, I don’t know what to do. Mr. Chen, that Sun Chao doesn’t answer his phone calls and doesn’t reply to his WeChat, should we still go to his company tomorrow to block people?”
“Let’s take a look at Old Yu’s side later.” There was a gray cloud of worry between Chen Di’s brows.
Half an hour later, the car pulled into a narrow alley.
Inside the alley the streetlights were dim, and on both sides were a jumble of old private houses.
A short while later, the car stopped in front of the Hopi Private Restaurant.
From the facade, the private dining room looks small, with tiny glass sliding doors.
When you enter the store, there are only four rectangular tables outside and one booth inside.
Mu Xiao followed the two old bosses into the box.
The box is also small enough to fit a table for 10 people.
The yellowed air conditioner hung in one corner.
Cold air blows from the air conditioning vents with a regular hum.
The client they invited, called Old Yu, hadn’t arrived yet.
The VP told Mako to get the waiter to serve some iced drinks first.
This restaurant has a small storefront and only one waitress, who still seems to be the owner’s wife.
The boss’s wife was ordering for a customer at a table for two, when Mako called out to the boss’s wife, who told Mako to get it herself.
It was only then that Mako realized there was a watery, hooded freezer in the corner.
At that moment the glass doors of the hotel pushed open and in walked a fat man in his fifties wearing a shirt and suit pants.
The man came in and looked around, his eyes landed on Mu Xiao’s body, looked twice more, and turned toward the box.
“Aiya, Old Yu, but I invited you out, I thought you weren’t coming.” Chen Di and his duo warmly greeted them.
Instead of showing a friendly and polite smile, the man headed for his seat and said with a cold expression:
“I wasn’t going to come, but I’m just coming here because we’ve been friends for so many years. I’ll skip the meal, I’ll sit for 10 minutes and then leave.”
“Come on, Old Yu, we’re here now, we have to eat dinner. Or let’s change the place, go to Famous Grand Hotel, you love to eat their diced bone steak and garlic lobster.” Mr. Gao said.
Chen Di also rushed to stay: “I promised to treat you to a meal, how can you finish this meal before leaving. Mu Xiao, tell the boss to quickly serve the food and fill up the wine for our Mr. Yu.”
Mako still didn’t know what had happened, only that the company had been turned upside down.
The two leaders were passing by to call her to accompany the hospitality, and they themselves have submitted their resignation letter, naturally reluctant.
But seeing the company become like this, and their two old bosses are sad, so they also obediently take up the wine tie.
Think of it as one last little thing to do before you leave the company.
Old Yu quickly waved his hand, “No drinking today.”
