    Chapter Index

Mu Xiao didn’t say anything after hearing that, and Tang Jia Chong didn’t say much either.

The kitchen was quickly cleaned up and the two young couples went off to do their own thing.

Tang Jiachong opened his laptop and sat firmly at his desk.

Mako went back to her room, grabbed a paintbrush, and scribbled randomly.

After about an hour or so, the two young couples started to move one after another.

Tang Jia Chong closed his laptop and got up to drink some water as Mako went into the restroom to take a shower.

After taking a shower, Mako went back to her bedroom and brought up a bag.

At that moment, Tang Jia Chong was about to go back to the master bedroom to wash up.

“For you, you bought me the car and gave me the dress. I don’t have as high an income as you do, so I thought I’d give you a dress.” Mako said with some awkwardness.

She actually wanted to say thank you to him.

Tonight he was on her side, speaking for her.

For so many years, in front of Liu Hongying, apart from her grandfather, she was basically isolated.

    It’s different with him now.

She was happy that Tang Jia Chong was able to help her, and she felt a sense of solidity in her heart.

She’s more grounded in the malice of her family, no longer alone.

She was now someone to rely on as well.

It wasn’t clear if this dependence would always be hers in the future, but at least it was hers now.

Tang Jia Chong took the paper bag, opened it and looked at it, said thank you and went back to his room.

About 20 minutes later, Tang Jia Chong walked out wearing the clothes Mako had given him.

He’d just had a shower, and his hair was still half-dry, the slightly shorter hair at the top stubbornly sticking up, leaving most of the black hair loose and covering his forehead.

He was wearing the new clothes that Mako had given him.

The freshly showered man still seemed to have if anything a watery odor on him.

    Mako froze.

It was just an ordinary white shirt, and Tang Jia Chong usually wore white shirts most of the time, but wearing it on his body after a shower looked particularly different.

How can he, a man, have a complexion that is so moist and white.

Then there was the dark black hair, as thick as a bit of ink, but young and playful.

Then again, how the man’s eyes, which glowed with a ghostly light like a watery wash, gave the illusion that he was amorous.

    Mako gulped without moving.

“The clothes fit well.” Tang Jia Chong stuck his hands into his pants pockets and said indifferently with his head down.

“Oh, why are you trying on clothes after a shower?” Mako blinked and averted her eyes.

    “No?”

“No, it’s best to wait until you’ve washed your newly purchased clothes before wearing them.”

“Oh, then I’ll wear it tomorrow after I wash it.”

“I shouldn’t be able to wear it the day after tomorrow, I’m going to take it to the dry cleaner. This dress costs more than three thousand dollars, wash it yourself in case it gets damaged.”

    “It’s okay, right?”

It’s only $3,000. Is it necessary to take such cheap clothes to the dry cleaner?

His clothes, any of them, are tens of thousands of dollars.

This shirt looks good on me though.

I wore it because I didn’t know the price at first, and I didn’t realize that cheap can be good.
