Chapter 2: Everything Starts from the Wedding Night (1 / 2)
by Jessie@AFNCC
The man thought he was already dead, but in the midst of his daze, his consciousness suddenly awakened.
He couldn’t see his own body, only a petal-like flower wrapping around him, moving rapidly.
He saw Earth, then the solar system, the Milky Way…
“Is this what they mean by being born from the earth and the soul returning to the universe?” the man muttered.
He had read about this in a book once, that life is born from the universe, and after death, the soul returns to the universe.
“Maybe this is death,” he thought.
The man wasn’t afraid. Someone like him was bound to face this day sooner or later.
His vision grew more and more blurred…
…
In the new house, three men trembled as they stared at the lifeless groom lying on the bed.
“Big… Big brother, is he dead?”
“Should… Should be dead, right?”
“Big brother, this is the last bloodline of Luo Tianfu. If anyone finds out about this…”
“No one will know. As long as we dispose of his body, no one will know it was us,” the leader said. “Second, give me the corpse-dissolving powder. Once this is done, we’ll leave Daxia Kingdom immediately. The money that person gave us will be enough for us to live comfortably for the rest of our lives.”
The leader took a small vial and walked toward the groom on the bed.
He opened the bottle, and his hands trembled as he was about to pour the powder onto the groom’s body. After this last step, they would completely vanish from Daxia Kingdom, go to a distant place, and live a life of wealth and luxury.
But at that moment, the groom, who had already been presumed dead, suddenly opened his eyes.
His sudden awakening made the man stagger, his face filled with terror as he looked at the groom.
The groom looked at the dissolving powder about to fall, his figure flashing, and in a strange move, he appeared beside the man, his two fingers curling as he pressed hard on the man’s temple.
The man let out a grunt and fell to the ground, motionless.
The other two men were stunned by the scene. Didn’t they poison Luo Yi to death?
How is he still alive?
But there was no time to think about that. If this got out, they didn’t know how they would die.
They exchanged a glance, suppressing their fear, and quickly rushed forward.
The groom dodged, slipped between the two men, and as they brushed past him, he punched one in the throat with a crunching sound as the man’s Adam’s apple was shattered.
Without pausing, the groom avoided the other man’s attack, grabbed him by the throat, and with a fierce twist, snapped his neck.
“Luo… Luo Yi!”
The man clutched his neck, his eyes wide in disbelief. How could the well-known good-for-nothing of Daxia City suddenly become so powerful?
The man swiftly dealt with the three of them and began to survey his surroundings.
This was a bridal chamber, very festive, and the man found it strange. Where exactly was he?
Just as his gaze passed over a copper mirror, his expression froze.
Several seconds later, he quickly stepped up to the mirror and saw in it a young face, only about seventeen or eighteen years old. His pupils suddenly contracted to the size of a needlepoint, a chill running up his spine.
In his life, he had been through countless storms, crawling out of piles of corpses—what could scare him?
He wouldn’t even flinch at death.
But right now, he felt a deep sense of dread.
Because the person in the mirror wasn’t him.
At first, he thought the Charker family had saved him, wanting to torture him in revenge.
But he didn’t expect he had become someone else.
Even with his calm, unshakable nature, a storm of shock and confusion stirred inside him, leaving him in utter disbelief.
He rubbed his swollen head, still filled with confusion and horror. What was going on?
Suddenly, he remembered the images he saw before dying—leaving Earth, leaving the solar system, leaving the Milky Way.
“Could it be that my soul crossed the universe, to the other side of the stars?”
The man muttered to himself, and at that moment, a thunderclap seemed to explode in his mind. Images began flashing.
But the man knew these weren’t his own memories; they were the memories of the groom.
Daxia Kingdom, Daxia City, Luo Tianfu, Luo Yi…
After a while, the man slowly calmed down. His mind was now filled with many memories of this person.
Luo Yi, the last bloodline of Luo Tianfu.
Years ago, after the only sky-grade general in Daxia, Luo Zhentian, fell, Luo Yi became the last remaining bloodline of Luo Tianfu.
However, Luo Yi had inherited none of his grandfather’s or father’s extraordinary talents. Instead, he was a well-known good-for-nothing, a piece of trash.
But this guy didn’t feel ashamed of it. He spent his days hanging out with a group of lazy and good-for-nothing delinquents, ruining the family business, tarnishing the reputation of Luo Tianfu—a true wine bag and food sack.
