    Chapter Index

    Parting is that heavy.

    Like boulders.

    Like mountains.

Pressing down on one’s heart, it was hard to catch one’s breath.

It is only when the departure comes that one realizes that all the rehearsals prepared in advance are as light as a feather, less than one in ten.

Krysia prepared herself to be heckled.

As an object, she blatantly defied her master’s decision.

This is something that can never be forgiven.

The moment the words were spoken, the magical girl’s heart fell into self-condemning remorse, but even so, she still had to refuse the wishes of the Xu system.

It is as if by refusing these testaments, one could equally refuse to part with them.

Keep the Hsu system from leaving again.

Let the warmth of the sun, stay on.

“Please ……,” the delicate face, caressed by a withered palm, spoke with a shudder, “say no more, I will not accept it.”

The rejection from the witch froze the Xu system for a moment.

The expression on his face changed continuously, first to one of surprise, then to one of doubt, and finally to one of gentle relief, with none of the chiding that the witch had expected.

    “Hahaha …… ahahahaha ……”

    “Ha cough…cough!”

    The Xu system smiled.

He seemed to be in a good mood, but his weakened body made him cough violently just as he laughed out loud, coughing hard and strong.

An agonized look emerged on his aging face.

    “Mentor!”

Krysia hastily cast life magic to help Xu System recover his body.

Every faint breath, every pained look turned into invisible sharp blades that deeply penetrated the demoness’s heart, causing her entire body to tremble.

What’s it going to take, what’s it going to take to save it?

Krysia didn’t know, and all she could do was desperately, over and over again, use the highest level of life magic to make Xu’s system feel better.

Soon, the Xu system’s coughing was calmed.

“I’m fine, Krysia, I’m just …… so happy.”

    Xu System’s eyelids became heavier.

    He half-opened his tired eyes.

Gently taking the witch’s hand and shaking her head to signal her to stop releasing her magic, she met the empty, lifeless eyes, “For the first time, this is the first time, you’ve expressed opposition to me.”

“Krysia, it’s wonderful that you own your thoughts ……”

Objects have no self-will, much less the ability to express opposition, and when the witch learns to oppose, it means she has regained her self.

Witch in the true sense of the word, became–

    [Man]

Xu System’s eyes were cloudy and blurry, he could not see the world in front of him for some time, and sleepiness came rushing in, wanting to take away the last of the clarity in his eyes.

    “Krysia ……”

On the couch, the dying old man announced in a warm voice, “You’re out.”

The world is ushered into silence at this moment.

It was so silent, so quiet that the witch couldn’t comprehend it.

Quiet to the point of being inwardly terrified by it, and fearful of the cruelty to come.

“But compared to you, I’m still far ……”, Krysia spoke in a trembling voice, her face still expressionless, but the suppressed sadness seemed to break through her shell and echoed in the air.

“There are many, many things I still need to ask you for.”

“I can’t do anything without you.”

Kryssa’s voice grew hoarse, and the immense sadness felt like a blazing fire, searing her throat.

    She couldn’t understand.

    She doesn’t understand.

She was an object that belonged exclusively to the Xu lineage, a magical girl who was loathed by the world, a useless object that could be discarded at will, humble and ugly and lowly, a shadow that would lose the meaning of its existence if it left the light.

Therefore, the witch could not accept that she had been recognized by the Hsu family and was “out of school”.

This meant that she would leave the side of the Xu system.

She clumsily counts and repeatedly lists and amplifies her own flaws and shortcomings as proof that she is not yet at the level of a master.

    “……”

Instead of interrupting Krysia’s words, Department Xu simply looked at her tenderly and once again stretched out his skinny, withered palm.

Gently place it on top of Krysia’s head.

To give it a final warmth.

    Gradual.

The witch herself paused, no longer recounting the falsehoods that had cajoled her.

The room is quiet and the window is bright.

And the witch’s heart is torn.

True despair is never a disaster that comes out of nowhere, but a tragedy that you know is coming but are powerless to stop it.

This kind of powerless torture, this kind of sitting on the end of the despair, so that Krysia that black and gold eyes, no longer before the mysterious and brilliant, only all the empty sadness.

    “Please …… don’t leave me.”

“Or, allow me, to leave with you.”

Krysia whimpered and finally spoke the words deep in her heart, a voice that was not mixed with any sobs, but was as bleak and sad as it could be.

Like a candle flame about to grow out.

Like a bird with its wings cut off.

Helplessly pleading with the Hsu system.

The witch was ready to die, along with the Xu system.

It didn’t matter, nothing mattered, the world or becoming a god, in the lonely inner heart of the witch, the weight was not even a fraction of the Xu system.

Masaru Shire saves the Witch and brings everything to the Witch.

The witch was also willing to give up everything to accompany Xu system to die in silence.

    No reason is needed.

    No need to hesitate.

    The witch was willing.

Responding to Krysia was the increasingly feeble palms of the touching head, and the light, wandering voice of the Xu system.

“Krysia, you know, I wouldn’t agree to such a thing.”

    Bedlam.

Xu System’s breathing gradually weakened, each breath was like a final struggle, in pain, in suffocation, feeling the body lose consciousness a little bit.

He showed his last smile to the witch.

The old and ugly face, under the sunlight, vaguely reflected a few shadows of his youth.

    “Please live well, Krysia.”

    “That’s my request.”

“There is no need to grieve for my departure; it is not an eternal farewell, but only a long separation.”

“One day we will meet again.”

The powerless, withered hand, no longer able to stroke the witch’s hair, lost all its strength and rested on top of the witch’s head.

The spark of life is about to go out.

The shadow of death looms large.

The Xu system uttered its final words to the witch, “Somewhat regrettably then, until now, I have never made you truly smile once.”

    Steep.

The Xu system was stunned for a moment, his pupils slightly dilated, the sudden shock even delaying the arrival of death for a few moments.

    “Mentor ……”

    “See ……”

“Here it is, my laugh ……”

Gray silk cascaded in the golden afternoon sun as Kryssa sat still on the edge of the bed, trembling and holding out her hands.

The remaining four fingers are all bent, leaving only the index finger sticking out alone.

    Two index fingers.

Hook the corners of the mouth on each side.

Lift gently and pull out the amplitude to artificially create a smile.

The smile was so stiff, and a steady stream of teardrops sprang up, slipping from the long-filled sockets and soaking the hands in silence.

Instead of laughing, it was more like wailing.

    “Nice smile ……”

    The Xu system murmured softly.

His breathing stopped quietly in the calm wind, and his eyes closed wearily.

This time, he’ll never wake up.

    You’re dead.

    [Simulation ends]
