    Chapter Index

    Disaster struck.

    There was no sign.

    There’s no sign of it.

Very suddenly, the sky, which was blue and clear one second, was burned by a horrible magic power in an instant.

It was a hellish sight, crimson meteors of fire appearing out of nowhere in great numbers, like an infinite sea of blood, coloring the entire sky a low scarlet of despair.

    “Snort… snort…”

    The fire of heaven snorted.

What you hear in your ears, and what you see before you, is the frightening scene of a meteor swarm falling from a high altitude.

Buildings were constantly being blasted into rubble.

Countless people have uttered terrified cries for help in the face of death.

    Too late to think.

Before the witch could think clearly about what was happening, her body took the first step to start acting, like a moth fighting a flame, she took the initiative to rush towards the fireball that was approaching the courtyard.

    Wave your wand.

    Release the magic.

    “Guardian of Water!!!”

    Everything is useless.

How can a weak moth shake a fierce flame.

The water magic that had been poured out with all its might, even using the backup magic of its wand, was easily shattered by the meteorite’s impact.

    Krysia failed.

    A complete and utter failure.

All she could do was watch the meteor fall, and there was nothing she could do about it!

    “Bang-“, a loud, deafening boom.

The flames that fell from the sky brought about extinction, and the instantaneous explosion of the air wave set off thousands of impacts, and the courtyard with countless beautiful memories collapsed and disappeared in an instant.

Even Krysia herself was lifted out an extremely long distance by the air wave.

It crashed, tumbled, and finally came to a stop against a brick wall.

    It hurts, a lot.

The witch fell to the ground, her body flooded with endless pain, wails emanating from every bone, every part of her muscles tearing and bleeding.

The struggle, the torture, hurt the sixteen year old witch so much that she could barely breathe.

    But.

    But…

    But ah but.

Physical pain was nothing compared to the inside of the chest, to that part of the heart, to the heartache that tore at sanity.

It was despair in the truest sense of the word, and just the slightest imagining of it would cause the personality to crumble and collapse!

    “Mentor ……”

The ruins of the blazing brick wall were filled with black smoke and dusty mist.

The young witch staggered to her feet.

Her eyes were still vacant and lifeless, her face still expressionless, but inexplicably, a few moments of anxiety and panic could be seen in it.

She grabbed her wand, which was no longer delicate and even missing a corner, and cast her magic again.

    “Mikado.”

A chiming voice rang out in calmness as the wind element wrapped around Kryssa once more, rising that injured body with difficulty and flying in the direction of the courtyard explosion.

The shockwave of the previous explosion lifted Krysia a long way.

So she had to get back on the road.

It wasn’t a long road, it was short and short, but to Krysia, who was already injured, it seemed like a never-ending road to the abyss of heaven.

Bursting houses, collapsing ruins, and a large number of dead and injured ordinary people.

That was all the witch saw.

    It’s gruesome, it’s horrible.

She picked up speed and flew to the courtyard.

Suddenly, the witch’s body felt a sharp pain, and the release of the Mikado technique was interrupted as a result.

She fell heavily from the air and rolled several times on the ground, not only did her clothes become tattered, but even her delicate skin was full of abrasions.

Face, hands, legs …… wherever there are wounds, look beyond miserable.

The blur of flesh and blood was caked with gritty dust.

But the witch didn’t care about that.

    “Mentor, Mentor, Mentor ……”

She mouthed the words, her gaze pure, with only the burning ruins in the distance, doing everything she could to get closer there.

Since magic can’t be used, we’ll walk there.

If you can’t even walk, then crawl across.

    Definitely.

Be sure to see him again.

With that conviction, Kryssa struggled to her feet once more, not bothering to look for her lost wand as she walked at a shaky pace towards the courtyard.

All that was on his mind was the well-being of the Xu system.

No injuries, no deaths, no slip-ups.

    Not even a little wound.

The young girl would never allow that to happen.

Obviously even a cheap bastard like her, even a discarded scrap like her, could live on in this world, how could the one who had the warmth of the sun die just like that.

    Ah…

    Ahhhhh ……!

Just imagining something like that caused the heart to contract violently, delivering an agony that made the young girl shudder for it.

“Faster, faster …… not fast enough …….”

    Krysia picked up the pace.

This sudden acceleration caused the injured body to lose balance and tumble to the ground in a tumble.

But it doesn’t matter, this kind of thing doesn’t matter anymore.

Ignoring the sharp pain in my calves from the fall, the cuts on my cheeks from the small stones, and the body that unknowingly began to twitch up.

    The witch moved on.

If you fall, you get up, and if you fall again, you get up again.

Finally, after skirting a large chunk of rubble from a collapsed building, she came upon the courtyard she wanted to reach.

Not as quiet and beautiful as it used to be.

There are no lush flowers or trees.

Much less the only person in your heart who is attached to it.

As far as the eye could see, there was a blazing fire, no more half-familiar memories of the crumbling ruins, and even the strongest meditation room inside had been blown to pieces.

The flames raged and raced, the smoke rushed high into the air and radiated and spread, and the wind that blew in his face was a howling hot wind that made his face dry.

    The dead silence is deep.

    Nothing.

    Yeah, there’s nothing left.

    “Pfft-“

It was as if his whole body had been drained of its strength in an instant.

Kryssa suddenly stopped advancing and fell to her knees with paralyzed legs, staring blankly at the ruins in the distance, the firelight rising and reflecting on her face, hot and cold.

    Her eyes remained flat.

Because she is a witch who knows no joy or sorrow and has no feelings.

But is there really no feeling at all in that beautiful, fragile skin, in that lonely, cowering soul?

    Krysia doesn’t know.

For the only one who could give an answer, the only sun that could give the witch courage, was no longer visible.

    Ah, here’s why ……

The young witch knelt straight in place, gazing into the burning courtyard with those even more hollow, lifeless eyes, trying to discern an answer from the raging sea of flames that churned.

Why is she still alive as a “personal item” when her owner is dead?

Why hadn’t she been quicker, harder to block that fireball.

Why can’t the one who died be replaced with her.

    Here’s why…exactly ……

Without its owner, the object has no need to exist; without the sun, the witch has no so-called future; without that warm watching gaze, Kryssa can’t take half a step forward.

Her person, her soul, are all kept alive by the presence of that person.

If that person no longer existed, even if the witch survived, her life would be meaningless.

    “……”

The witch shuddered and reached out, covering herself at her chest cavity, and

Feel the sinking pain that cries out.

    Original.

    So is she.

    It’s going to be sad.
