Chapter 241 – Unreal Summer Day
by Jessie@AFNCC“What, exactly, is missing?”
A sea of stars sinks and a silver glow swirls.
Finish exploring Civilization 02.
Starfleet sets sail again.
Sailing to that unknown faraway shore with more wreckage of civilization.
The Xu system stood on the deck of the starship, under the protection of the energy crystal wall, safely looking far into the light and darkness stacked at the end of the line of sight, the magnificence that belonged uniquely to the universe.
“What is troubling you, master?”
The machine servant came from the rear.
The pace is elegant.
The bodice was white, the corset deep black, and the hem followed the swaying, creating silent ripples of gray and white.
The features were delicate, yet with a distinct icy coldness, and a pair of silver-blue eyes blinked slightly as they looked quizzically at the Xu system.
“It’s nothing, Ailee.”
“I was just thinking, from the intelligence available, that civilization grows to a certain point and is destroyed.”
“And now–“
The Xu system’s voice paused slightly, and he glanced sideways at the machine servant.
The silver-white metal shell, wrapped in deep blue mechanical eyes that looked like overlapping and intersecting deep-sea spectral lights, waited for the Xu system’s answer.
“Our level of technology has long surpassed that of the Federation back then.”
“Whether it’s energy, or materials, or any other area, it outperforms the Federation across the board.”
“But we have not been hit by the enemy.”
The Xu system shook its head.
That would have been a good thing.
But the unknown turn of events alerted him.
System Xu didn’t believe that the unknown mastermind behind the scenes was really so kind as to spare his Starfleet.
There must be some key element to this that one still hasn’t thought of.
“Please be assured that Ailee will always watch over you.”
The machine servant could see the concern of the Xu system.
Said in a concerned voice.
At the same time, he took out hot soup from somewhere and handed it to the stunned Xu system.
“Master, you have consumed too much brain power during this time, you need to replenish your nutrition.”
“Following your advice, I have modified the soup recipe.”
“This, this way ah ……”, Xu system hesitantly took the soup bowl.
[After exploring Civilization 02, you have managed to gain a great deal of new knowledge after a long period of mechanical resonance.]
You’ll benefit from this.
[Continuous knowledge +1 per day]
[You recall the former Federation and feel that the underlying condition for the destruction of the Human Federation and Civilization 02 was the degree of development of civilization, and that any civilization capable of sailing to the star ocean would have suffered an unspecified blow]
[One of the ways to strike is the red dot that causes the intellectual weapons to rebel, in addition to which there are more unknown ways to attack]
[You don’t understand why, to this day, your own fleet is still intact and has not suffered a blow]
[Was it the enemy’s slackness that neglected you?]
[You ponder, unwilling to leave the safety of yourself and Airey in the hands of an unknown mastermind.]
You must continue to develop technology and explore the unknown sea of stars to find out the real reason.
[You have consumed the new product prepared by Ailee – tonic soup]
[The flavor of the soup is soft and you like it, you smile and make a compliment, and the same smile appears on Ailee’s face]
[“As you like it.”]
[Ailee says so]
……
[Thirty-eighth year of simulation, you’re 57 years old, 36th year of Ailee’s company]
[You still haven’t figured out why your own fleet, which has not suffered malice from the universe]
“You’re puzzled.
In the same year, your fleet sailed deeper into the sea of stars.
[Your goal is to go down to the ruins of civilization and continue to draw on the technological knowledge of ancient civilizations.]
“Thirty-ninth year of the simulation, you’re 58 years old, 37 years of Ailee’s company.
[You’re obsessed with biomass computers and can’t get out of it.]
[With the help of breakthroughs in the field of biology, Ailee’s body has been modernized and now behaves more like a human being, mimicking many of the body’s natural characteristics.]
[Elle is acting happy]
[Looking at the happy mechanic servant, you smile in the same way]
Summer is quiet and the sun is dry.
Inside the Eco-Starship.
The climate system circulates and surges, creating a sense of tranquility on a hot summer day.
The green leaves are blown by the breeze, densely colliding with each other, and then forming green undulating waves that emit a soft and delicate rustling sound.
The Xu system stood in the shadows under the canopy of the trees, his hands attached to his Mechs, correcting the last parameter for the body in front of him.
“That’ll do, Ailee.”
“Thank you for your help, Master.”
As the Xu system retreated, the machine servant opened his silver-blue eyes and looked down at his body with a curious gaze.
“Hot, warm and bouncy ……”
The voice was slightly bewildered.
The white fingers pressed gently on the arm of the other hand.
Feel that rebound, and the synchronized data from the processor.
“Eh ……,” Ailee trailed off, flat and confused, a feeling she had never experienced before.
Can feel cold, can feel hot.
Although it is a simulation from the data that delivers the virtual feelings to the center processor.
Still not the flesh and blood nerves of real life.
But, that’s enough. That’s enough.
In the rolling heat, the young girl’s fingers traced across the midair, bending and stretching in a lithe gesture, interlacing and flipping back and forth.
She pointed at the “sun” in the sky.
With the help of its light, keep checking the skin of your hand and the warm burning pain.
Sticky likes turn into tangible shadows.
Projected onto Ailee’s face.
A unique atmosphere of light and shadow, half bright, half shadowy, was created for that overly delicate face.
“Do you like it, Ailee?” , the Xu system sought out a chair and sat down, looking at the machine servant who was repeatedly checking out the changes in herself, he inquired with a smile.
“…… likes it.”
The machine servant nodded dully.
She stopped watching her fingers and turned to look at the Xu system.
Then, under Xu System’s slightly surprised gaze, the machine servant quickly ran up to him.
Half squatting down, in a serious and rigorous posture, his hands were in the shape of a closed hand, gently grasping one of Xu System’s hands.
Merger.
Fit.
Not a single movement.
Time seemed to come to a standstill as the machine servant kept this motion unchanged.
Only after a moment did she raise her head, gazing at the Xu system’s face with those silver-blue eyes that appeared to be calm, but were actually filled with thousands of ripples.
Gradually, the coldness faded from his face and a happy micro-expression blossomed.
“Master’s hands, warmer.”
“Ailee loved it.”
“Really, I’ll take that as a compliment”, the Xu system cried and laughed, waiting until the laughter subsided and the expression on his face melted into softness.
Unable to help himself, he reached out his palm and gently covered the top of Ailee’s head.
Mopping up.
Smoothing out.
“Ailee, you’ve grown again.”
The sound of rustling leaves rubbing together in the unreal summer day blurred the men’s voices.
It was a joy and blessing for the growth of the machine servant.
He believed that the hazy humanity would one day break away from the cold metal bondage and feel the real joy and sorrow.
Until then, the Xu system would try to help Ailee as much as possible.
Watch her grow.
Watch her step into the future.
“Right, Ailee, can you untie your hands now?”
“Negative, Ailee is carrying out her master’s orders and sensing new changes in the machine.”
Summer’s mania is full of offense, even for machine servants.
