I Became a Genius Law School Student Episode 95
The reason Kang Chang-soo created this problem.
This is to filter out test takers like Jang Hwa-eun who are so focused on immediate efficiency that they abandon their efforts to understand the true purpose of precedents.
It is true that the current bar exam has focused on whether or not one knows the precedents that serve as the source of the question and thus whether one can write down the conclusions drawn from the precedents.
However that does not mean that if you are really only absorbed in the gist of the precedent and the one-line phrase written in the examination book you will not be able to make a correct interpretation when faced with such a transformed factual situation.
This was not a desirable phenomenon from either the examinee’s or evaluator’s perspective.
Kang Chang-soo created this issue to raise an alarm about such a situation.
‘But… that’s probably why I didn’t submit the exam.’
Despite all the side effects the reason many test takers only put on the test facts or issues that closely match specific precedents was not because they were stupid. Because that side is neat.
It is an error and there is no need to raise an objection and the test taker can easily accept the result.
That’s because the conclusion is written in the precedent which can be said to be the ultimate answer sheet.
On the other hand problems that require you to draw your own conclusions by relying on legal principles and a legal mind are not clear.
In short it was interesting but controversial.
Just looking at the residential trespass in question right now… Even among the Supreme Court justices there was a minority opinion that argued that the basis for trespassing should be found not in the external nature of the act but in whether it was against the will of the resident.
‘If you follow that you will come to a conclusion through a completely different logical development.’
Can I deduct points for such an answer because it is wrong?
If it is based on a real precedent you can give it a grade by saying ‘You didn’t know about this precedent.’
However this is not the case in matters like this one where we have to go one step further from the arguments of precedent.
In any case the bar exam was a gateway that required half of the test takers to fail.
It was difficult to leave such ambiguity if those who were filtered out were to be able to accept the results.
So I couldn’t take the test.
However for this match there were few issues as appropriate as this.
It will be a stage that clearly reveals Jang Hwa-eun’s shallow understanding and its limitations.
It was not just <Question 1>.
Other facts and issues related to this have been divided since then.
Each of them required an accurate understanding of the grounds beyond the conclusion of the precedent.

Every time the answer to one question is revealed and the argument is contested.
The wrapping paper of Jang Hwa-eun’s stubbornness was torn off.
“Therefore the two sins committed by Jeong are not in an imaginary conflict but in a real conflict.”
Around the time I spit out the answer to the last question.
What stood before me was no longer an experienced instructor full of stubborn beliefs and arrogance.
“ah….”
There was a cowardly fugitive who finally faced his own true face that he had ignored for a long time.
One word that seemed to drive a wedge into him.
“Is there anything else you want to say?”
No answer came back.
* * *
“It’s okay if you don’t help me.”
“It’s okay shit. “The guy who was taken to the hospital just a few days ago is going to move this all by himself?”
I snorted and dragged two large trunks.
He was carrying a fairly heavy bag on his back.
After becoming possessed I continued to exercise in the morning and strengthen my physical strength so it wasn’t that hard.
Still Hanseol seemed very sorry but in reality his hands were full of various burdens.
“If you really care just buy a meal.”
After the confrontation with Jang Hwa-eun Han Seol moved to the dormitory.
It seems that Lee Ha-ru was sharing a double room by himself so there was discussion with the administration office about moving in mid-term.
– Are you okay?
– huh. This is correct for now. Because mom will need time. And… to me too.
I remember seeing the two of them having such a conversation.
As promised Jang Hwa-eun stopped controlling and coercing Han Seol of all kinds.
In fact there was no way to force her even if she did not accept the result but it was fully predictable that things would turn out like this.
‘A similar thing happened in the original work.’
This is why there was an episode in ‘In the Law School’ where the conflict between Jang Hwa-eun and Han Seol arose.
Of course it didn’t happen by now but by the end of the second year.
There Han Seol who had grown up and experienced many things personally negotiated with Jang Hwa Eun using his skills.
He convinced Jang Hwa-eun that he was wrong and that he could surpass Jang Hwa-eun.
‘This time I wasn’t in a situation where I could wait so I had no choice but to step forward…’
There are two problems that Jang Hwa-eun has.
One is the inability to face one’s own failure.
The other thing is that he cannot fully trust his daughter.
As a result of the two combined Jang Hwa-eun ended up forcing herself and her daughter into this cycle saying that this was the only way for Han Seol to succeed.
In order to repair the distorted family relationship both problems had to be resolved.
The former was somehow achieved through this confrontation.

This is proven by the fact that Jang Hwa-eun was in agony and released Han Seol for now.
But what about the latter?
There is nothing I can do about that. That doesn’t work either.
It was a problem that only Hanseol himself could solve.
‘But… I can lay the board.’
– Come see the legal argument competition. Then you will know what I mean.
Hanseol is growing much faster than the original.
It was the result of recognizing my own shortcomings and struggling to find a solution.
I believe that if she is like that she will be able to show her mother her potential.
For me this legal argument competition was a performance to submit to Jang Yong-hwan’s leadership team but it was also planned to be a stage for this.
“ah. “It has arrived.”
As I was walking with those thoughts in mind Hanseol stopped. Before I knew it I was in front of the women’s dormitory.
As I was pushing the luggage I had dragged towards the entrance Haru came out and waved his hand.
“Hi.”
“From here on you guys move on your own. “Because I can’t go in there.”
Doing so would be a violation of the dormitory rules. After jokingly telling the two people to have a hard time and turning around a small voice as if carried by the wind stopped me.
“…Park Yu-seung.”
“Are you coming?”
“thank you.”
“…It’s a team.”
Some people say that lawyers are idiots.
However it is rare for a lawyer to do such a foolish thing without any reason and without compensation. If something goes something must come.
We are one team.
How can you prepare for a competition when your team members are having a hard time? In the end it’s something I do for my own good.
As for how Hanseol took my answer he could only let out a hearty and happy laugh.
After parting ways with the two people I returned home.
I was quite tired perhaps because I had had a lot of things to do recently that drained my mental energy.
I suddenly felt the urge to lie down on the bed and spread out but it wasn’t time to rest yet.
Because there was one more thing left to find out.
“What?”
After sitting down in front of the desk I took out a small cardboard box from my bag and looked at it quietly.
“…What is this?”
It was a box that seemed to have nothing special about it.
The outside is completely black and it is small enough to be held in one hand.
Even if there were items that could fit inside there wouldn’t be that many types.
But it was something that could not be taken lightly.
This is because the person who delivered this to me was none other than Director Chang-soo Kang.
“okay. That old man…”
This was after the confrontation was over and Jang Hwa-eun escaped from Director Kang Chang-soo’s office.
I was left alone with Kang Chang-soo who was staring at me in silence.
And then I realized it again.
‘…Awkward!’
In terms of number of relatives Director Kang Chang-soo and I were very close relatives as we were uncle and nephew on my mother’s side.
However since being possessed I have never had a proper conversation with this great elder of the legal world.
‘It’s the same with Park Yoo-seung before he was possessed.’
“hmm.”
The old man’s eyes captured me.
He does not explore or cut like Choi Seong-cheol nor does he project piercing power like Jang Yong-hwan or Park Geon.
A gaze that just calmly observes all the phenomena it reflects.
Although he was my maternal uncle he was almost as old as my grandfather.
This is because Park Yoo-seung’s mother was the last child of Kang Chang-su separated by several decades.
Of course an honor as beautiful as this old tree cannot be obtained for free simply because one grows older and time passes.
“You’ve changed a lot.”
The first to break the silence was Kang Chang-soo.
“Not only did I gain skills but I also learned how to act for others.”
“You’re overestimating.”
It would be difficult to think of myself as a person with a strong spirit of service.
He hurriedly denied it and lowered his head but Kang Chang-soo showed no reaction.
“Maybe it would be okay to pass this along now.”
Instead Kang Chang-su rummaged inside the drawer and took out a small box and held it out to me.
At the same time an unexpected person was mentioned.
“This is something your mother entrusted to me when she heard you had enrolled here.”
“Your mother?”
Park Yoo-seung’s mother Kang Eun-sook was also a lawyer who proudly passed the bar exam as a member of a prestigious legal family.
He is an expert in the field of detective work a field that is so arduous that even the average man would have a hard time withstanding it.
However after marrying Park Geon she moved to the legal department of Yusung Group holding company.
There was a setting but Kang Eun-sook never appeared in the original work.
After falling into this world I had no experience meeting Park Yoo-seung in person.
So it was a name that I couldn’t even think of.
“They said that as a law student if you can do your part give it to me.”
With me in front of him Kang Chang-soo elaborated further.
“At that time did you still have vain hopes that this was the child you gave birth to while your stomach was hurting? That damn bastard clicked his tongue… but he doesn’t know how to deal with people.”
That was the end.
Instead of talking about what was in the box or about Kang Eun-sook or me Kang Chang-soo made a congratulatory gesture with his hand.
The inside story of what happened that day was that I somehow picked up the box and came back without knowing what was going on.
In short this box in my hands was prepared by Kang Eun-sook.
A gift from Park Yoo-seung’s mother a mature lawyer who has been a detective for a long time.
I couldn’t even guess what was in it.
“Well I guess it’s not a harmful thing.”
It is useless to think like this.
Putting aside my hesitation I immediately opened the lid of the box.
