I Became a Law School Genius – 79

I Became a Genius Law School Student Episode 79
This was after the briefing session was over.
After sending my group to the buffet first I approached Seong Jin-tae who was leaving the banquet hall and spoke to him.
“Oh the student… that one from earlier.”
“My name is Park Yoo-seung and I am a first-year student at Hankuk University Law School.”
“Yeah that was the name. “I still wanted to talk to you when I get the chance.”
Seong Jin-tae had a much more favorable attitude than expected.
He returned with me to the empty banquet hall saying he had about 30 minutes to spare.
“I was impressed by that.”
“If you say that….”
“Did you say Baek Seo-yul? The legal battle I had with that girl. My strength was not normal. Knowing how to immediately and smoothly answer questions that are thrown without context is impossible without a systematic understanding of the entire law.”
“Thank you for your kind words.”
There was no need to be overly humble. Seong Jin-tae grinned as he slightly bowed his head.
“Actually what really impressed me was the front.”
‘In front of that? ah.’
It seemed like he was talking about inciting both Korea University Law School and other schools to create a fight.
“I thought he was a rare type for a young guy these days. “There are a lot of smart kids but those who know how to move people are rare.”
That is also an important quality for a lawyer. Seong Jin-tae shook his head.
“Anyway… that’s what I’m saying.”
Seong Jin-tae looked at me for a moment with eyes that seemed to be measuring the estimate.
It seemed like he could see the scales swinging back and forth in his mind.
As I was waiting patiently Seong Jin-tae suddenly asked me a question.
Like a passing comment as if it was nothing.
“Are you interested in working at Jin & Ahn?”
“…yes?”
But the content was by no means light.

“Friends like Yoo Seung usually do a good job when they are selected. If you had come to listen to the intern briefing session you wouldn’t have been very interested in our company. how is it?”
“Are you talking about the interns or the formal hiring…?”
“Both.”
Seong Jin-tae’s stern voice cut off my words.
“I hold full authority over this practical training recruitment process. “Whether it’s selecting an intern or giving a confirmation as long as I say one word it’s okay.”
“But the procedures required for hiring….”
“Oh that’s there to verify whether the applicant has the qualities we need.”
Whether it’s an application an attached assignment or a task assigned during the practical training period. They are all just procedures for the same purpose.
Seong Jin-tae’s argument was that in his opinion I had already passed the exam so there was no need to go around in circles.
‘…no. ‘Is that tidy?’
Considering Seong Jin-tae’s values revealed in the original work it is understandable that he is interested in me.
But have I shown them something so great that they are trying to tear down the procedures they created? I don’t think so.
To be honest I almost wondered if he was doing this because he knew I was the son of the owner of Yuseong Group.
‘Of course that’s not true.’
As far as Seong Jin-tae was concerned that didn’t happen.
A thorough meritocrat he was completely indifferent to the applicants’ backgrounds.
It was unlikely that he would know about Park Yoo-seung who was treated as a disgrace to the family and had been hidden away without ever being exposed to the media.
Even if he knew it wouldn’t have been something he was interested in.
In short he was really making that suggestion just for me.
I didn’t know what on earth gave Seong Jin-tae such confidence.
‘I don’t know. ‘Maybe I just wanted to throw out the bait first and see if they bite.’
But either way there was only one answer I could give.
“That might be difficult.”
Seong Jin-tae opened his eyes round at my rejection.
“Can I hear why?”
“Because I can’t convince myself.”
Seong Jin-tae asked whether it was necessary to go through such cumbersome procedures when the results were already determined.
‘Of course I have to step on it.’
This is because taking the right path has meaning in itself.
Why did I apply for this internship in the first place? It was to gain experience.
And this ‘experience’ naturally includes all kinds of selection processes.
‘A chance to write an advisory report? You can never miss it.’
And I am the one who will go to the prosecution anyway.
I had made up my mind to do so right after I became possessed.
Of course I wasn’t stupid enough to tell the person in charge of hiring interns ‘I’m going to be a prosecutor’ but it was clear that I had no plans to join Jin & Ahn.
“…Student Yoo Seung is an interesting person.”
Seong Jin-tae seemed to be thinking about something after hearing my answer but then smiled.

“great. Forget the offer I just gave you. But… if you need any help please contact me anytime. “Not as a partner lawyer and intern recruiter at Jin & Ahn but as a senior in the legal field I will provide at least some advice to talented juniors.”
‘no. This line.’
Isn’t this the same line that was said to Shin Seo-jun in the original work?
“I guess that’s okay right?”
In fact Seong Jin-tae’s promise was quite meaningful.
Even aside from his position at Jin & An he was a mature and capable lawyer.
There were many things I knew I could do.
The reason I visited Seong Jin-tae was also in that aspect. I answered choosing my words carefully.
“…Thank you for your kindness.”
I hope this is correct.
“As a law student who works hard to study I would like to ask you for guidance.”
“her.”
Then Seong Jin-tae’s eyes widened as if he was having fun.
“ha ha ha! Student Yoo Seung is really not easy.”
Looking at the reaction it seems like I chose the right answer.
Seong Jin-tae offered to help me his junior as a legal professional rather than as a partner at Jin & Ahn.
At first glance it seems like a comment meant to ease some of the burden but the reality is a little different.
If I can’t make him on the company’s side I want to at least put him under the influence of the human Seong Jin-tae.
It is often said that there is no favor without return.
Once you start taking on debt whether tangible or intangible you will inevitably be bound by some kind of bondage… Don’t we say the same thing often?
‘But that’s also a conversation between people who are in equal positions.’
Just because a local elder buys candy for a passing child thinking it’s cute doesn’t mean it’s a ‘debt’ that must be repaid later.
In fact if you were to gauge Seong Jin-tae and my position as legal professionals there was roughly that much of a gap.
‘Debt is such a crushing debt.’
How amazing would it be for a newborn to receive something?
Likewise as long as he emphasized his status as a student it was as if he had drawn a line by saying that he would only receive help at a level where he would not have anything to lose and no responsibility for.
Seong Jin-tae immediately saw my intention and burst into laughter.
“Ah the more I look at it the more it becomes a thing. “Can’t you just come to our company?”
“Like I said….”
“I’m kidding. joke.”
Seong Jin-tae seemed to be in quite a good mood considering that the offer had been rejected.
“Oh right. “You didn’t hear why Yoo Seung came to see me because you were busy telling me my story first.”
Finally the story came to the point. I cleared my throat hmm
“You said you would teach me as a senior.”
“Of course.”
“Can I receive that lesson now?”
“…specifically?”
This is an important point. The real business I came to him for.
“This is a work log written by my senior while dealing with past events. “I want to look at and study just a few of them.”
“It’s work right?”
Seong Jin-tae’s eyebrows twitched as if he was surprised but this is exactly what I need.
Lawyers prepare many documents while handling a single case.
Factual data must also be collected and organized and legal knowledge that may be helpful to the case must be researched and made into a document.
You must also write an opinion expressing your legal opinion on the matter that the client has entrusted to review.
It would be best if we could see the written opinion or the litigation materials themselves but unfortunately that is too much to ask.
It contained too much of the client’s personal information and it was impossible to ask for it to be shown for free when it was a service provided for money in the first place.
‘But if it’s just a work log.’
The work log is a detailed record of what specific strategies the lawyer who handled the case established and implemented to resolve the case.
For example ‘actions’ such as meeting with a client at Mowol Moil Detention Center or what materials were sent and where are recorded.
It’s the same as reporting to your boss in a typical company.
It is a document used to check whether this person is stealing his salary or whether he is working sincerely and to use it as a basis for evaluation.
Of course legal issues are not directly written but there is nothing like this to look into the real life of a lawyer.
‘And if it’s Seong Jin-tae’s work log you can know more.’
“Why not?”
“No whatever. “I keep all my work logs on my PC so I can show you as much as I want…”
Seong Jin-tae immediately nodded.
“Is there any other incident you would like to see?”
“there is.”
I mentioned several famous incidents.
The glorious records of victories that became the foundation for Jin & Ahn’s current reputation.
Matsubashi Electronics lawsuit for victims of forced labor during Japanese colonial rule and private equity fund Lone Planet’s defense.
Seong Jin-tae without any doubts searched for the work log at the time of the incident and sent it to me by email.
Since these were major issues that shook our country they seemed to think it was not strange to be interested in them.
“and….”
I briefly mentioned an incident in passing.
“I would like to see what happened two years ago when you led the charge of not indicting Jeong Seung-wan the eldest son of National Assemblyman Jeong Seok-gyu on charges of drunk driving and causing death by dangerous driving.”
“!”
At that moment Seong Jin-tae’s body flinched reflexively.
