I Became a Law School Genius – 78

I Became a Genius Law School Student Episode 78
It was quite noisy for a few days after Jin & Ahn’s intern recruitment briefing session.
This is because the experience of competing against students from other schools for the first time had a significant impact on the first-year law school students at Hankuk University.
– Well as expected I can fly around outside.
– The reason my rank didn’t show up was because the guys above me were such monsters.
The students who succeeded in keeping their seats thought that and squared their shoulders.
– At that time it happened so suddenly that I wasn’t prepared!
– I let my guard down. I should have studied with tension so that I could show off my skills at any time.
The classmates who had been pushed out to the shabby seats reflected on their complacency and defended the reading room and study room.
As a result a much more intense academic atmosphere was created than before.
Originally this was the time when the results of the Shinyoung Foundation’s scholarship selection scattered by Rep. Jeong began to come out one by one.
This meant that news of classmates who received scholarships because of their good backgrounds despite lacking grades or skills was spreading everywhere.
Such people no longer tried to improve themselves and prove themselves through competition.
Why bother studying hard when you have already been issued a guarantee of success?
On the other hand it was expected to become a total disaster with several students feeling deprived and heartbroken after seeing such scholarship recipients.
However the story changed when a major incident occurred in which the pride tied to the name ‘Hankook University’ which they all shared was attacked.
There is a certain common will that we can tolerate being left behind inside Hankook-ro but we cannot be caught by those outside.
That’s because it held their reins tightly.
Of course Park Yoo-seung the person who caused this situation did not intend it to go that far. It just so happened that the result was like this.
In the first place he was not a person who welcomed the purebloodism of Korean universities.
They just take the stance that they will use whatever is available.
In an atmosphere where many people focus only on studying.
When Jang Yong-hwan who had a reputation for teaching very tightly ended the class the students each stretched out on their desks as if they were exhausted.
That’s how much concentration was lost.
But as soon as they were exhausted and mushy someone shouted.
“It’s up!”

There was no fool who asked what.
The Sunyoung Foundation scholarship announcement was all over and there was still time until the final exams so there was only one thing that would ‘come out’.
“Jin & Ahn practical training application notice has appeared!”
Nevertheless shouting out as if to reaffirm it may have been an act to calm one’s own trembling heart rather than out of consideration for one’s classmates.
“Tsk what kind of law firm intern…”
Of course there were some who poured cold water on the excited atmosphere.
“Anyway when we graduate most of us start our careers at large law firms. “Is this such a big deal?”
Jeong Min-sik bit into a piece of chocolate and spit it out.
“If you have come to our law school it is rather easy to get into a law firm. What you should really aim for is the court or prosecution. “But just because there was an advertisement for an internship at a law firm they were wagging their tails like a dog that had just met its owner.”
“Oh so you’re not going to write an application?”
“…I’m going to write something.”
When Shin Seo-jun slyly pointed this out Jung Min-sik reluctantly agreed.
“Jin & Ahn are different. “It is the best law firm in the country and it is full of external advisors with experience in all kinds of specialized fields as well as former officials who were the most powerful people in their current positions.”
Rather looking at the quantity and quality of data experience in public affairs Jin & An had the potential to be superior to most local courts or prosecutors’ offices.
Jeong Min-sik narrowed his eyes and glanced at Shin Seo-jun.
“Are you planning on going with Jin?”
“no. I’m not going. “I will do an internship though.”
“…You would definitely be able to get confirmation. My grades are no longer top but they are top anyway. Since you graduated from the police academy wouldn’t you get extra points for the detective team?”
“Oh that’s about people who have experience in investigative work like senior Minhwan. This does not apply to fakes like me who immediately went to law school after graduation.
Shin Seojun spoke in a joking tone as always but he didn’t really seem to have any intention of going to Jin&An.
“I’ve been curious about this for a while.”
Jeong Min-sik asked a long-standing question.
“Why did you come to law school in the first place? “What do you want to do in the end?”
In fact in Jeong Min-sik’s opinion Shin Seo-jun was a very strange guy.
I heard that Shin Seo-jun who graduated at the top of his class from the police academy is a family with deep roots as a police officer.
Did you say that your father was also an elite who rose to the rank of police officer at a relatively young age?
“Isn’t it guaranteed that I will succeed even if I stay in the organization?”
Of course being a lawyer is a good job but at Shin Seo-jun’s level it was a prerequisite for him to be able to walk on a solid path in the police organization like the crown prince.
Shin Seo-jun has never expressed such a desperate desire for something that he just kicked it out.
As always I just leisurely took the top spot with a mysterious smile on my face.
“…There are some things that just aren’t enough.”
“uh?”
“Something like that. Even the police is an institution that is ultimately subject to checks and supervision by an organization called the prosecution. Even if you do well there won’t the old prosecutor immediately get angry if he sees this guy? “If I wanted to live with integrity I had to go to the prosecution.”
For a moment something dark seemed to pass by but Shin Seo-jun who soon returned to his usual expression slyly gave a snobbish reason.
It was a story that did not sound like a serious story but Jeong Min-sik gave up on digging any further.
In the first place it wasn’t a new thing that a guy named Shin Seo-jun was going crazy.
“What happened? I’m not saying they’re going to test it anyway. So what about Jin & Ahn interns simply in terms of experience?”

“That’s right. “That’s if they choose me.”
So let’s take a look. What did you submit as an alternative support assignment?
Shin Seojun accepted the message and checked the notice on his smartphone.
Like many other students around me.
“…Are you kidding me?”
“Whoa calm down. “It was clear from the briefing session that we were going to come up with something that couldn’t be solved with our level of knowledge.”
“But still what is this?”
However the students who read the notice were all holding their heads and groaning.
“Severe Accident Punishment Act? “I’ve never heard of anything like this except on the news!”

“You brought up an interesting topic.”
Shin Seojun smiled bitterly.
The Serious Accident Punishment Act is a law that stipulates that if an industrial accident or loss of life occurs due to a company’s failure to sufficiently secure the safety of an industrial site the person in charge of management or the business owner that is the ‘higher person’ sitting at the top of the company can be held directly responsible. am.
Of course it does not mean that there were no existing laws to hold people accountable for lax safety management.
Those in charge at the site or those in positions of direct command and supervision are directly responsible for safety accidents.
The Serious Accident Punishment Act simply served to expand the scope of responsibility to the highest level of the company.
The argument is that if a manager’s confidence goes back and forth due to an accident why not take more responsibility and work hard on safety management?
“If we look at the roots… I would say that we are half involved in criminal law and half in labor law.
The problem is that this is not included in the basic laws covered by the bar exam. It is not even covered by the selection method.
The labor law itself which regulates labor-management relations is included in the selection law and special criminal laws such as the Road Traffic Act and the Sub-cheating Act are often linked to exams but the Serious Accident Punishment Act has nothing to do with such cases.
In other words the vast majority of law school students do not even have to look at it from admission to graduation.
“Why are you bringing in something I’ve never even heard of as an assignment?”
“It can’t be helped. “Because corporate advisory is primarily about issues that need to be resolved through special laws like this.”
So it is also difficult.
“What are you going to do?”
Jeong Min-sik asked with a sense of confusion but Shin Seo-jun had a plan.
“Among my acquaintances who attend Gangseo University Law School there is a labor attorney who worked in the legal department of a large corporation. “I think I’ll prepare with him.”
“…It’s a fucking scam. that.”
Hankuk University Law School has a high proportion of so-called ‘college graduates’ that is students who went straight to law school right after graduation.
There are few people with social experience who have prepared for or passed other exams.
Their attitude is that they will teach and nurture young people with a keen sense of learning instead of fully developed and mature talents.
On the other hand there are many law schools out there that have taken the opposite strategy. People who have been out of society for years.
In particular it achieves results by gathering office workers who have already passed other professional exams and gained experience or passed the exam.
Kangseo University Law School which Seojun Shin mentioned was a place that typically adopted such a strategy.
The number of people is 40 which is very small considering that Korea University has 150 people.
It is an elite law school comprised of talented people who are already at the forefront of society to the point where each person naturally asks ‘Why did he come to law school?’
As such the person he called that acquaintance also had formidable qualifications.
An in-house labor attorney who has been in charge of mediating labor-management disputes at large corporations?
Of course unlike ordinary law school students who don’t know anything about the world they will have dealt with serious disaster issues several times.
If you prepare your application with such a person the quality of the research is bound to change.
It’s not like Jeong Min-sik was complaining about this for no reason.
On the contrary it was said that it would be a completely daunting task unless that level of human resources were available.
“Isn’t this the era of networking? “Knowing talented people and using them in the right places is also part of ability.”
“That’s true though.”
“And to me Jeong Min-sik is one of those talented people.”
“…Hmm. “Is that so?”
However while praising Jeong Min-sik Shin Seo-jun was thinking of someone completely different.
‘Park Yu-seung….’
His classmate who showed unexpected performance and quickly became a person of interest is now the temporary co-dean of Hankuk University Law School with him. Park Yu-seung.
He also seems to have been talking about wanting to become a prosecutor but that doesn’t mean he will miss the opportunity to experience the work of Jin & Ahn the industry’s leading law firm.
If you become a prosecutor the enemies you will fear the most and face most often are Jin & Ahn.
‘But this time it won’t be easy even for you.’
To be honest Shin Seo-jun was quite accepting of Park Yoo-seung as a person. Do you look at it from a skill perspective or in some other way?
That’s why I was paying more attention and carefully observing their every move.
However despite Park Yoo-seung’s excellence the task for this internship application was not something that even he could easily conquer.
As a law school student it was easy to just study well.
It was a topic that Shin Seo-jun himself might have had a hard time with if he hadn’t had an acquaintance.
Even though he is the youngest son of a chaebol family Park Yoo-seung has been treated like a cold meal.
It is unlikely that they have reliable connections on this floor that can be mobilized at any time.
Forcing someone to use the name of Yoosung Group wasn’t something Park Yoo-seung would have done.
When it comes to legal issues the more knowledge you have the faster you can collect and review data.
This meant that even if an unknown person worked hard to prepare it belatedly he or she would not be able to write a complete report within the set deadline.
It was a task I didn’t really like. The advantage and disadvantage are extremely different based on experience prior to entering law school and other factors.
Unless they have the ability to see through the future and start preparing long in advance what are ordinary students supposed to do?
‘We may never see each other on the same stage again this time.’
Shin Seojun repeated this with a slightly sad feeling.
