I Became a Genius Law School Student Episode 43
[Bar exam channel]
[This is a space to share stories about the bar exam and law school life.]
The ‘Bar Exam Channel’ was a small bulletin board attached to an Internet community that was famous for covering all kinds of topics.
You might wonder whether law school students would actually use a bulletin board like this that anyone can visit but surprisingly it was a space that quite a lot of people used.
‘There is no other place to talk about law school or share information.’
Of course each university had its own community and within it there was a bulletin board where people could discuss law school.
However in the reality that many students go to law schools different from their original school not everyone can use the community during their undergraduate years.
Ultimately this bar exam channel was where law students from all over the country gathered.

This is how you find information or provide answers.

They also talk about the hardships they face in law school.
But the true value of this bulletin board lay elsewhere.
[Title: Hello 2016 Civil Law Student why is this answer number 4?]
[Content: Option 4 is ‘Even if the debtor and the garnishee cancel the contract by agreement after the notice of exercise of the creditor’s right of subrogation the effect of such cancellation cannot be asserted against the creditor’ right?
But isn’t there a precedent that says that the disposition prohibition effect does not apply because what caused the contract to be canceled was not a disposition?]

A hot question that has just been posted.
The essence of a law school student is a test taker.
Naturally the bar exam channel also had a strong character as a test-taker community.
As if to live up to its name the bar exam channel used to post various questions related to the problem of change of opinion.

Then mysterious experts would appear from somewhere and reply.
[ㅇㅇ(27.615): Are you stupid? That’s what happens when you default on your debt.]
[Author (38.64): What does that mean?]
[ㅇㅇ(27.615): Even if I tell you you don’t know so it looks like you’re going to fail ㅅㄱ]
[Author (38.64): No;]
However since it is a community where most users operate anonymously their speech is often rude and fights often break out.
‘But you don’t necessarily have to act anonymously.’
There are many people who do not want to attract attention or be singled out so they mainly operate anonymously but creating an ID and operating under a unique nickname is not prohibited.
And for my purposes it needs to be attention-grabbing and specific. And as much as possible.
To that end a name that stands out might be better even if it is a little childish. After thinking for a bit I started tapping on the keyboard.
[Invincible and Strongest Law Doctor: If the debtor defaults on his obligations to the 3rd party obligor and the 3rd party obligor cancels the contract the default itself is an act of fact and does not result in a change in rights. It is the third party debtor who exercises the right to cancel the contract. Therefore the effect of prohibiting the disposal of creditor’s right of subrogation applied to the ‘debtor’ does not apply.]
[Invincible Supreme Law Doctor: On the other hand in the case of cancellation of agreement the debtor disposes of the subrogated claim at his own will and cannot oppose the creditor.]
Since the comments are meant to be read by law school students not laymen I will capture and post the legal principles underlying the precedents instead of explaining them in detail.
As expected the author responded immediately wondering if his studies were in vain.
[Author (38.64): Oh I understand! The issue was whether the debtor himself disposed of it.
With this the author’s concerns were resolved.
But this wasn’t the end.
This is because anyone can view and respond to questions and answers on a public bulletin board.
[ㅇㅇ(117.111): The explanation is clear?]
[ㅇㅇ(118.235): This is the most expert answer I’ve seen recently. admit.]
[ㅇㅇ(27.615): But what is Ji and his nickname is God of Law? That’s ridiculous.]
[ㅇㅇ(27.615): Even if you buy something you pass? Did you go to law school at Korea University?]
As expected there were some replies purely praising the answer but there were also reactions that started an argument over nicknames.
But I didn’t respond to any of them and just kept posting answers to various questions using the same nickname.
[The most invincible god of law: Even if the lien holder occupies the apartment and makes a profit from its use it is an act of preservation…]
[The most invincible god of law: In liability for works the owner is an indirect possessor…]
Using such a shameless nickname even a fixed nickname on a bulletin board where the vast majority are anonymous is bound to attract attention.
Before long I became a hot topic on the bulletin board.
[Title: Invincible and Strongest God of Law <- What is this guy?]
[Content: Are you interested? This is my first time seeing a kid with a nickname on Byunsi Channel.]
(6 likes 35 replies)
[Author (27.615): That’s right haha I hate seeing dogs]
[ㅇㅇ(118.235): If you are the author and leave a comment on your own post it will show up as the author]
[ㅇㅇ(117.111): It’s ugly. That person’s answers are of high quality and good so are you jealous? Something like that really helps the channel.]
Although opinions were divided everyone seemed to agree that the ‘God of Law’ who appeared like a comet was able to give good answers to any question.
Awareness has also built up considerably.
I thought it was about time so I uploaded a post.

[Title: Questions regarding civil law and criminal law.]
[Content: Any problem is okay. Past exam questions from other exams are good as are questions from each school and questions from workbooks published on the market are also good. You may ask for an explanation of precedents or legal principles that you do not understand. Going forward we plan to organize and post answers to the questions collected once a week so please give us your interest.]

As it is a time when it is attracting a lot of attention the response is enthusiastic.
‘That’s it.’
There was one flaw in my study method.
A single-volume study in which you select only one book for each subject cut out everything you need to skip and read it repeatedly focusing only on the content you need to see to establish a system.
This method has the advantage of being able to efficiently prepare for the full range of tests but on the other hand it also has the disadvantage of being completely unaware of questions that are not included in the reduced content.
‘Of course it is much better than going from book to book and trying to collect all the materials and not being able to develop your answer writing skills due to not enough readings….’
In addition to the ‘Knots of Civil Law’ and ‘Summary Theory of Criminal Law’ that I chose there were many good books in the world that could be used to study civil and criminal law.
Of course it wasn’t in my book but it contained a lot of descriptions that were worth reading and examples that would be helpful.
However it was absurd to study a new book from beginning to end in order to gain such knowledge.
Most of the content will overlap with my book anyway so it becomes too much of a waste of time.
Without investing much time or effort I want to pick out only the valuable items that I don’t have right now and take them out! Of course this desire existed but the problem was that there was no way to put it into practice.
“But I found a way.”
The Bar Exam Channel is a bulletin board used by law school students across the country.
Naturally the questions they raised were bound to be focused on complex laws that could not be easily solved even after studying a lot precedents that were difficult to find and academic papers to secure distinction created by professors at each law school.
Pretending to answer questions they obtain such valuable data without any effort.
There was no honey pot like this.
[ㅇㅇ(223.232): This is a question we submitted but can you provide an explanation? This is an issue related to the second lien mortgagee of the property guarantor in the subrogation committee. It was so difficult that even the top students had different answers but the professor didn’t give any criticism…]
[ㅇㅇ(175.223): This is a problem with the instructor but I can’t understand it even after reading the explanation. Please help me God of Law!]
“hmm. “Yami.”
If you sit still and open your mouth law students from all over the neighborhood will scoop up and spoon-feed you difficult problems that you couldn’t solve no matter how much you thought and thought about them.
It takes no time or money.
Moreover I am not the only one who benefits.
People who ask questions can also quickly solve difficult problems that they struggled to understand on their own.
I like my sister and my brother-in-law. Ditch and catch crayfish.
Isn’t this a win-win and a good influence?
I moved the pouring questions into a file saved them and began to look at each one in detail. Perhaps because I literally did nothing yesterday and rested the writing of the answer felt light and cheerful.
After all law is so much fun!
* * *
“Do you know that you are the ‘invincible and strongest god of law’?”
As soon as I arrived at the classroom on Monday morning I almost tripped and fell when I heard Yoo Taewoon’s voice running towards me.
“What is that?”
“I heard that a crazy master appeared on Byunsi Channel over the weekend. The nickname is a bit lame but no matter what I ask he answers perfectly. “The kids are all talking about him now.”
“I see uh….”
As I slowly focused my attention on my ears I saw that the invincible and strongest god of law was being chanted here and there.
“I worried about it for three days but after hearing the explanation from the God of Law it was resolved at once. “The nickname is a bit lame though.”
“I took the professor’s fingerprint and asked for it and this was the first time I realized that’s what it meant. “The nickname is a bit lame though.”
‘Whether you praise or criticize just do one…’
I hadn’t even thought about it.
The Bar Exam Channel was a site used by quite a few law school students so if it became a hot topic there it could easily be talked about in real life as well.
Of course they do not know that I am the God of Law.
Nevertheless hearing it in person was quite a heart-warming experience.
“The most invincible god of law! The invincible and strongest god of law!”
“Who on earth could it be? “The depth is unusual. Isn’t the current position already a graduate?”
“Maybe it’s from the bar exam. Just looking at his sense of nicknames he seems like an older man.”
“but. There’s no way someone our age would use a name like that.”
‘ah.’
Just as they said the soul of a man well over 30 was trapped inside this body.
But even if that were true it was still hurtful to hear someone say that their senses were worn out in front of them like this.
‘It’s unfair. I mean it was made like that on purpose to attract aggro.’
It was a time when I was swallowing a protest that was useless to anyone.
“Park Yu-seung!”
Hanseol ran towards me as if he was very excited and tapped me on the back.
Could it be you too?
I asked in a somber voice.
“Is the invincible and strongest god of law such a fool…?”
“huh? “What is that?”
Hanseol asked back with a puzzled expression.
“…No it’s nothing.”
Come to think of it Han Seol is not very familiar with the Internet.
This is because he lives a very busy life and his parents have been very strict with him since he was young.
Hanseol tried to get lucky by saying more than that.
“Look at it more than that. “It’s up.”
“You’re flying? what?”
“this.”
I took the smartphone that Hanseol held out to me.
[Notice regarding the preliminaries of the Jain Court Argument Contest]
‘You’re here.’
Jain Legal Argument Competition.
It is a competition in which the parties are divided into the prosecutor’s side and the defendant’s side in the case of a civil case the plaintiff and the defendant in the case of a criminal case and compete to present legal arguments as if they were in an actual court.
Victory or defeat is decided by judges sitting in the judges’ seats.
Because the method is completely different from regular exams participating in competitions is not necessarily helpful for academics.
Of course people who get high test scores and people who show excellent performance in competitions are not the same thing.
Nevertheless the Jain Legal Argument Competition was very popular with many students regardless of their grades.
There is only one reason.
“Park Yoo-seung said you were going to be a prosecutor. Are you going to go out?”
When selecting public officials such as prosecutors or trial researchers those who have a record of winning the Jain Legal Argument Contest are exempted from the first round of screening.
Since various documents such as academic records and self-introductions are reflected in the first screening anyone preparing for public office was expected to aim to win the Jain Legal Argument Contest to erase uncertainty.
‘If your grades are low this may actually be your only chance.’
Moreover in my case I was a disciple of Jang Yong-Hwan.
As he declared at the beginning of the semester he wanted his students to experience a variety of activities and even offered a reward by offering an internship recommendation letter to the prosecutors for those who showed excellent performance in participating in activities.
‘But the performance points at stake in this Jain court argument contest are very large.’
The Legal Clinic activity which must be done throughout the year was worth 5 points but the Jain Legal Argument Competition which ends within two months from the preliminaries to the finals was worth 20 points.
If you did not attend your letter of recommendation would essentially be wasted.
So the answer was fixed.
“I am….”
