I Became a Law School Genius – 140

I Became a Genius Law School Student Episode 140
When I was preparing for the bar exam at Sillim-dong Gosiwon.
At that time everything was old shabby and dull.
Old signs stuck up close together in narrow alleys.
Under the blinking neon sign with the battery running out test takers with sunken cheeks are lining up to fill their meals with cheap cup rice.
If you look closely somewhere along the line a familiar face catches your eye. It’s none other than me from my past life.
As the cup of rice gets cold I hurriedly shove it down my throat and return to the semi-basement gosiwon which doesn’t even have a proper window.
The nights of a high school exam student are difficult.
In the winter because there was no money for heating I stayed up at my desk wearing several layers of cotton clothes I picked up at Dongdaemun Market and in the summer I had to rely on a half-broken fan that didn’t work well.
Everyone lived like that.
I have no doubt that if we endure this hardship just a little longer a bright tomorrow will come.
But what about the scenery unfolding before my eyes now?
‘…It’s changed a lot.’
I had just entered the first floor lobby of Gigaroyous.
The dazzlingly bright lighting dispels the dark scenes of Sillim-dong in my memories.
What takes its place are clean white marble floors and neatly organized classrooms visible through floor-to-ceiling glass.
There was even a cafeteria inside so that students could relax comfortably.
“What brought you here?”
A female employee dressed in a stylish suit asked in an elegant tone.
“I am a participant in the bar exam mock test contest.”
“please wait for a moment. “Have you printed out your admission ticket?”
“Here.”
“You have been confirmed. B-08732… Please go up to the 3rd floor and enter exam room 8.”
“thank you.”
If there are things that have changed there are also things that have not changed.
“…Hey. “Can’t you just quietly turn the pages?”

“Hehe now you’re arguing over the sound of paper being turned. “If you’re that sensitive you should at least wear earplugs.”
“What?”
“And you’ve been clicking your ballpoint pen out of habit for a while now. How can you stop? “I feel like I’m going to die of frustration?”
Test takers filling the exam room.
Their eyes were all filled with cruel venom and each time they opened their mouths a sharp and nervous voice came out.
‘This is the same.’
A feeling of tension and pressure that takes your breath away.
This dry atmosphere emanates from people who are weighed down by the burden and stress of exams.
Because the late summer heat had not yet subsided the air conditioner was running full blast in the examination room.
However even the latest air conditioning and heating facilities cannot stop the cold sweat running down test takers’ spines.
Perhaps because of the discomfort everyone became more nervous.
‘At law school it was a little less so because there were first year students.’
Of course everyone studies intensely in law school.
However since I was still a first year student the weight I felt was bound to be different from third year students whose exam was just around the corner or N students who had already taken the exam once.
‘I wonder if I can stay out until the exam starts.’
I felt like I needed to take a moment to catch my breath so I went out into the hallway. As I was contemplating the possible precedents for the exam and organizing my thoughts someone spoke to me from behind.
“…by any chance.”
I turned around and saw a group of two men and two women looking at me. It was a face that all four had never seen before.
“Aren’t you Park Yu-seung? Are you attending law school at Hankuk University?”
“That’s true. “Who are you?”
When I asked in confusion their eyes sparkled and they started to get excited.
“You’re the one from High Flyer right? “Episode 1 aired yesterday and I really enjoyed it!”
“I was surprised. Most of our 3rd graders have not yet mastered public law so you bring up the issue of unconstitutional law judgment there. “How did you come up with that idea?”
“I never imagined I would see it in real life. Wow awesome. hey. Dabin. You said you were a fan of this person. Instead of hiding come out and ask for an autograph.”
“Hey can you please take a picture together?”
‘What’s going on?’
Apparently the main episode of ‘High Flyer’ started airing yesterday.
‘Why do I have fans?’
He clearly pushed a very arrogant and arrogant concept.
I thought I would get a lot of criticism when the broadcast aired but I was embarrassed to see that people who recognized me came out so favorably.
“I heard that’s actually better? “That’s right Dabin.”
“Shhh…!”
In the end I took pictures with them and even signed autographs even though I had a shocked expression on my face.
‘I feel like I’m some kind of celebrity.’
If Chae Song-ha were a real celebrity she would have handled this situation skillfully but I didn’t have that talent. I groaned internally as I felt my energy being sucked out.
“By the way what’s going on in Gigaroyus?”
A tall male student in the group asked.

“We’re having a mock exam competition today. “I participate in that.”
“…yes?”
The four people turned to me with surprised faces.
“Isn’t Park Yu-seung a first year student?”
“you’re right.”
“But you’re taking a mock exam? This is originally a test taken by 3rd year or N exam students…”
“I’m just trying it for experience.”
“and. If it were me I don’t think I would have ever tried it. “Geniuses have different walking methods.”
The four people who were holding their tongues left cheers and told me to take good care of them then dispersed to their respective exam rooms.
‘Is there about 20 minutes left now?’
According to the notice you must remain seated 10 minutes before the test starts. It was soon time for me to go back.
On my way back to the exam room I met a familiar face.
“It’s been a while junior.”
‘This person…’
“What are you doing here? President of the Real Rights Law Society No. Senior Seo Su-jin.”
‘I told you not to call me that.’
A serial theft of exam papers occurred ahead of the midterm exam.
The culprit was Seo Su-jin the older sister of Seo Hee-jin and the president of the now-defunct Real Rights Law Society.
‘I received quite a bit of help from this person.’
At the time she said she was repaying me for stopping her younger brother and gave me internal information that only circulated at the Real Rights Law Society.
It was a very helpful material in preparing for the midterm exam.
“me? I came to take a mock exam. “It is an opportunity that cannot be missed as a retaken student.”
“Are you… are you okay?”
Seo Soo-jin is a character who has been left alone in the school’s dormitory after failing the entrance exam.
The last time I saw him he had been prescribed tranquilizers at the hospital and was taking them.
Is it okay to go out to a crowded place like this?
“It’s gotten a lot better. After that I talked to Heejin a lot and it dawned on me that I shouldn’t worry her anymore. I’ve stopped taking the medication now. “It’s all thanks to you.”
“That’s a good thing.”
“you? “Is it because of the mock exams for you too?”
“How did you know?”
“just. For some reason I thought that might be the case. “Because you are a real person different from a fake genius like me.”
Seo Su-jin tapped my shoulder waved her hand and left for her exam room.
“Then good luck.”
“Senior too.”
‘You’ve accomplished so much.’
The first time I possessed this body was this winter.
It was such an intense time that it was hard to believe that less than a year had passed. Before I knew it many things had changed because of my existence.
‘They told me to study too hard.’
Of course there was no time to be consumed by pride.
All test takers are beings who must prove what they have honed at every moment and move forward.
I took a brisk step toward the exam room where another gate was waiting.
* * *
The test proctor in exam room 8 clicked his tongue.
‘…These guys are terrible.’
After passing the bar exam he chose to remain in academia instead of becoming a practitioner and was recognized for his academic ability and rose to the position of a law school professor.
Three years ago I also served as a member of the examination committee for the bar exam.
The reason I became an instructor at Gigaroyous was because of my seriously ill wife.
A large amount of money was needed for the surgery and Gigaroyus just happened to offer a huge down payment.
Although I had no choice but to enter the academy industry the test proctor secretly did not like it.
A superficial education that focuses solely on passing exams. This is because it was a system that did not fit his ideology.
‘That’s why only these substandard answers come out.’
The test proctor walked among the test takers to see how they wrote their answers.
Unfortunately no matter how hard I searched I couldn’t find an answer that would satisfy him.
‘What’s the point if you match the issue and conclusion? The argument is much more important.’
Since they were all third-year students or graduates they were pretty good at finding issues. It seemed like he had a vague idea of what precedent he was asking about.
But that was all. When the precedent says it’s possible yes. When it says it’s impossible it’s no.
The answers written by most students stopped at that level.
It is rare to see someone who accurately understands ‘why’ the precedent made that judgment and perfectly captures the logic behind it to write an answer.
‘Because it’s a test that you can pass even if you don’t go that hard. ‘If it’s natural then it’s natural.’
The passing rate for the bar exam is 50%. Rather than aiming to be first it is more effective to aim not to be in the bottom 50% of the test.
To achieve this rather than delving deeply into each topic it would have been much better to study shallowly and broadly so that you could use the basics no matter what was asked.
‘I know but I can’t help but feel regretful.’
Even if a person passed the bar exam it was extremely close to impossible to write a high-quality answer sheet that would satisfy his or her standards unless he or she was sitting still.
The test proctor also knew this fact deep down.
‘okay. It’s not even the time of the bar exam… huh?’
The test proctor who was trying to come to terms with his inner self stopped in front of an examinee’s desk.
